Banana Bread Muffins with Chocolate Chips Ingredients: - 3 large ripe bananas, roughly mashed - 6 Tablespoons melted unsalted butter - 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 1/2 cup brown sugar - 1 large egg, at room temperature - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 3/4 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder - 1/4 cup sour cream, at room temperature - Pinch of salt - 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus more for topping Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). 2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, sour cream, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined. 3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. 4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix. 5. Fold in chocolate chips. 6. Grease 6 jumbo-sized muffin tins and line with cupcake liners. 7. Scoop the batter into prepared muffin tins, filling about 3/4 of the way. 8. Bake for 5 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the muffins are cooked through. 9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving. Notes: - Make sure to not overmix the batter to ensure tender muffins. - The initial high temperature helps to create a nice dome on the muffins.
For anyone wondering, it makes 12 normal sized muffins. The cups will be really full but don't worry they won't spill over (at least they won't without the extra chocolate chips. I forgot to add them). I personally did not have to adjust baking time even with a smaller pan.
TRY THIS RECIPE!!!! I just got them on the cooling rack and tried one. They are tender and have just the right amount of sweetness. This one is going in my recipe keeper. The only thing I didn't do was add extra chocolate chips on top (I forgot). I also didn't have a jumbo muffin pan but it worked just great with regular muffin cups (makes 12). I didn't need to adjust the baking time. Original comment: Thanks so much! I have an excess of overripe bananas to use up and this will be a delicious way to use them 😊 I really appreciate the detailed recipe. Thanks again!
This is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing. one request: can you please upload regular chocolate chip and chocolate muffins as well? That would be great.
SERIOUS YUMMY Goodness 😋 😍! Lightly coat your Bananas with some Cinnamon Powder -- kicks it up to a whole new level for a different taste. Both ways are Definitely Delicious!
Trust me i thought it was to sweet with all the sugar so i put less of it and i didnt taste any of the sugar in the muffin afterwards so follow the instructions
No excuses. If it's midnight where you are and you don't have the ingredients, get out of your pajamas and find an all-night grocery store. Best life choice you ever made.

6 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, equivalent to how many gms?
Is it possible to find this recipe in grams?
Really hope ur recipe is in gram😅 for accuracy especially when measuring flour.
Did you cut the parchment paper into smaller square’s?
It would be better to write the ingredients on the side
6 tablespoons of butter? How much would that be in grams? or can I replace the butter with something else? 🙏
Trust me. Use the butter. Your muffins will thank you for it. These are indescribably good.
How many days will muffins expiry

Aren’t they too sweet ?
Trust me i thought it was to sweet with all the sugar so i put less of it and i didnt taste any of the sugar in the muffin afterwards so follow the instructions
Hi, could someone tell what was the ingredient that went in after the egg and before the flour?
That would be the sour cream
Please can I skip banana
Wrong recipe. 3 large bananas are not a small ingredient you can substitute. It's at least a third of the batter.
Ήθελα τόσο πολύ να είχα ένα τώρα 😢😢😢😢
No excuses. If it's midnight where you are and you don't have the ingredients, get out of your pajamas and find an all-night grocery store. Best life choice you ever made.

Can i skip sour cream?
I don’t see the point of adding eggs if you use bananas…
Too much sugar and butter 😭
😋 🫰
What the hell
