gears fan forever. I still play the first gears of war online on the 360. Not always easy to find a match but when you do. Annex with friendly fire in the map gridlock is pure heaven.

Ive always had PS but when id go to my best friends house a kid I fell in love with gears 1-3. I'm glad to see 5 is doing well...truthfully it might be a system seller for me. People who havent played gears dont know what they are missing.
I mean he didnt touch on the story so I dont know how that's going to be, but the gameplay looks solid because they kept the core aspect of what a GOW game plays like while updating and adding worthwhile additions. As a fan since the first one this looks good to me, 4 was good gameplay wise but the story left something to be desired and the loot boxes turned me off of the game, hopefully they get rid of that

You mentioned the part about wishing there was a catch up for the first 3 Gears games for newcomers. There actually is in the main menu and it does a really good job!
Luckily when gears 5 launched they put all of them on the game pass so you can literally play all of them if you were so inclined and new to the series
I know this is old but I just started playing this and it is great! I agree it would be better if you could upgrade the characters instead of or as well as Jack. It would be nice to have some base abilities you can make better with progression.
I am glad to see we arent fighting Deebees anymore, it was so BORING the first two Acts of Gears 4. I would always have to skip straight to Act 3 since that is when it got interesting.

Honestly I’m with you here I came to gears of war for the fun shooty shooty action but sticked around way longer because of the lore. And idea of there being variations of the weapons instead of just “this is a shotgun this is a sniper” just sounds great to me.

ID like to have a dlc dedicated to the pendulum wars. Id like to see more of the old wold. Gears lore îs my favorite ever. I miss the darkness and malincoly of the first two games, when humanity was on the verge of extinction, struggling with the locust. That atmosphere was unique. I love gears 5 and I give IT a 8.5/10. The gameplay and everything is perfect, but the New characters miss the old manliness and pesimism of the old gears. They're just like Kids Who enjoy an adventure, unaware of the darkness and danger around them, not like the action mature guys from delta squad, Who knew how to get the job done.
As a Sony fan this is a reason to get an Xbox I love gears of war, all of the games I definitely need to pick this one up. And an x to appreciate this title at 4k 60fps. Long live the cog.

Spent 2000$ on a pc for it to sit I always wanted to build a pc did it not a fan of it. Don’t get me wrong Pc is good, I just don’t have enough time for it or want to play it only for exclusive games that’s why I built it but found myself not even touching it. So to me it’s a waste. I rather play consoles.

My dad has been there since the first game. I bought this game for his birthday which was coincidentally the day after gears 5 released. He loves it so far and I’m happy he loves it 💙😄
Im glad you did something for him, really, you should be proud that you actually give something to your parents, even so, i have to warn others not to buy this game. Its 100% a clone of gears 4 with a little sprucing up. The highlights are the games free roam campaign ( its mediocre, nothing to get to excited over. Basically a less rewarding halo odst ) and the new bullet tag system. The actual shooting and multiplayer is extremely inconsistent right now, only 3/4 shots land with the gnasher. Recoil was altered on rifles to make them more viable at range( which they failed at doing, seeing as everyone in pubs and ranked just use a gnasher and power weapon anyway) so basically the same as gears 4. Ive beaten two runs of horde, the only change really is that certain characters have special perks. Pretty much nothing else but minor convenience changes. Do yourself a favor: get this game on the game pass. Do not buy the ultimate edition like i did or even the regular edition. You have been warned.
I admit when I played Gears 5 I went back to play Gears 4 again, and that's when I realized how enjoyable it really was. I don't understand why people are hating on these new gears games.
Gears 5 is a departure from the series. The characters are softer and half the quality set piece moments are replaced with a vacant semi-open world to pad out the game and give the illusion that its longer than it really is

I grew up on the old school gears games gears 2 being my favorite. At first I didn’t like 4 then I saw gears five was coming out so I played gears 4 and it was decent but gears 5 has definitely made an awesome first impression on me so far!

I loved this series. Though it took me 10 years when i was 6 years old to beat the berserker, but. Hey. It was amazingly fun playing this game series. Now to wait for my xbox to get me access to this amazing series and hopefully they get to work on the open up levels to allow for that sweet sweet metro 3rd person actiony feels. Heck! Could even get an army setting up since the cogs been abandon and whatnut and have to fight your way back to the top, all while swarm continuously pound against ya front doors.
I took the deal where it converts your existing subscription months into ultimate. So I got 6 months of gold for €10 less than recurring payments, added that onto what I already had for pass and gold, then got the deal and I have ultimate until the 17/3/2020
Should have done that in June when first announced. You get it for $2 and keep it your whole Xbox live subscription. I have game pass until September next year. Idk if they $2 does that now but when they announced at E3 that was an easy steal.

If 4 lost your interest, this gane easily makes up for it. Fantastic in each of its game modes. I've put about 26 hours into the game so far and only really found 1 or 2 glitches and a simple checkpoint reset fixed them.
Jago Strife worth it in the end. You can buy brand new games for half off and enjoy having every game right in front of you and don’t have to search for it like on PS4 or Xbox
I like how they changed hord so you don't have to rely on a scout for gathering power. but I don't like the thought of only one person playing that character at time or can you have multiple people as the same character.
Terminator genesis was good to me.... going back to the past... that was cool seeing parts from part 1 changed up a bit........ took hard work to recreate those scenes.....

I admit when I played Gears 5 I went back to play Gears 4 again, and that's when I realized how enjoyable it really was.
I don't understand why people are hating on these new gears games.
Gears 5 is a departure from the series. The characters are softer and half the quality set piece moments are replaced with a vacant semi-open world to pad out the game and give the illusion that its longer than it really is

Gears 5 got me back into gaming, there was nothing to play everything boring. Its pure fire!

Older comment to this video…but as a (Casual Gamer) who only plays main campaigns/stories in video games, this is my favorite Gears of War game since part 2. The first GOW is still my favorite but I am really looking forward to a “Gears 6”. 😎

I grew up on the old school gears games gears 2 being my favorite. At first I didn’t like 4 then I saw gears five was coming out so I played gears 4 and it was decent but gears 5 has definitely made an awesome first impression on me so far!
GearsOW 4 seriously felt like it finnished super quick....
good because I never got thru the campaign so I gotta do that quick before 5.

Gamepass is very much worth it. It's pretty cheap considering. plus they keep coming out with deals for it . I recently paid 2 dollars for 3 months of game pass. It's not free of course? People need to make money for their work. it's totally worth it

I loved this series. Though it took me 10 years when i was 6 years old to beat the berserker, but. Hey. It was amazingly fun playing this game series. Now to wait for my xbox to get me access to this amazing series and hopefully they get to work on the open up levels to allow for that sweet sweet metro 3rd person actiony feels. Heck! Could even get an army setting up since the cogs been abandon and whatnut and have to fight your way back to the top, all while swarm continuously pound against ya front doors.

If 4 lost your interest, this gane easily makes up for it. Fantastic in each of its game modes. I've put about 26 hours into the game so far and only really found 1 or 2 glitches and a simple checkpoint reset fixed them.

I like how they changed hord so you don't have to rely on a scout for gathering power. but I don't like the thought of only one person playing that character at time or can you have multiple people as the same character.

Gears of War (the original) is, in my opinion, always going to be the best game
ActingAnimal 88 I first played 2 so for me that one was the best, when I played 3 I loved it as well everything after I was like YOOOO WHY!!! But with the original 3 including one I thought all of them were amazing but 2 being the best for me
Avery Battle I will admit , I felt that Gears 1 and 2 had such a good thing going that when 3 came out I was kinda unopened to the change in the story and enemies (lambient) but overtime I accepted it but 4 just felt like the gears franchise had shot itself in the foot. IDK maybe we can just hope 5 is better

ActingAnimal 88 I know what you mean but I felt the conclusion of the trilogy, so it helped me get into the story and when I played judgment, I was like why? But when I first played 4 I wasn’t into the story at all the characters don’t have the same charm to me as the original. Del is the only reason why I liked the story for the most part.
It was nice to finally get to have the main character in your group half way through the campaign.

Fuck no, companies limit way too much the customization aspect so they can sell skins and that's fine for free games but for a full-priced games is absolute nonsense, u get the "basic costumization pack" and then u need to pay for more, fuck outta here
