This is definitely THE Porsche to get. It's perfect for the weekend track day enthusiast. It has just the right amount of power, it's naturally aspirated, 6 speed manual, perfectly balanced... Perfect.

@@f2bclown Not unless you're a track rat and will fully utilize the GT4's hard edged capability. The choice between the GT4 and the GTS 4.0 is clearly one of personal taste and desired usage. The GTS 4.0 is MY choice because I would drive it FAR more on public roads than on the track, so an appropriate balance between performance and comfort is a priority for me. The calculus may not be the same for you.

Great video 🤓!!! Last February 2023, I acquired my new 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 which has the 4L NA flat six cylinder engine (same unit as a GT4) and a PDK gearbox. Power output (394 bhp) and torque (317 lb-ft) are a nice match to this car's sensible curb weight (~3200 lbs). The color is Gentian Blue metallic with a black/chalk all-leather interior and silver wheel rims. It's definitely an entertaining driver's car!
So far, I've only done 452 miles but hopefully a lot more this coming Summer! The PDK is also a lot of fun (it's definitely quick) 🤓
All the best and thanks again from Colorado!

@@aviator-kn8zq you’re absolutely wrong!! When I bought my GTS it specked out at $115k, I could have easily bought a 911. Tested a 911 the day my GTS finally arrived at the dealership because my wife wanted me to. I drove it right after driving the Cayman GTS.....noooooo thank you! Compared to my Cayman, it felt big, saloon like and just not what I expected. The pure driving that you get from the cayman is way better than the 911 in my opinion! I’ve own 3 caymans by the way, one S and 2 GTS!!

@@aviator-kn8zq lol.... A status snob I see? I had the pleasure of doing a Mid vs Rear Engine comparison at the Porsche Driving Experience for this very reason, to compare drivability. The Cayman GTS took a massive shit on the Carrera S I drove. The Carrera felt like a big soft boat. boring is an understatement... the rear engine pulls you towards the wall on every corner while the Cayman GTS inspires excitement and confidence from the moment you get into the cockpit and hugs every corner. My heart was set on a Carrera GTS 991.1 but after my experience I'll be placing my order for a Cayman GTS (with a few aftermarket upgrades ie headers, pipes and short shifter). it is a DREAM to drive.... waiting on the economy to collapse, stay tuned.. lol.

    Great video!
The Cayman design rocks. With it we have both rear and front boots. Engine right behind us. It's a dream to drive on mountain roads. No faux seats in the rear. Only 2 people can ride in it. In the more recent models, the rear windshield has a shade that hides what's sitting behind the glass in the trunk space. Where I live, people like to steal things when they can see them.
I have the 2L Turbo 718 base model and with it's lighter weight, it's a wonderful beast.
I wish the 911 had adopted as standard, a rear hatch like the Cayman. Porsche did with one of the Targa series. Otherwise the rear interior of the 911 is a big waste of space. It's hard contorting my body to reach back behind the front seats in my 997.2 to put stuff in the back. Looking past that, the 3.8L 9A1 engine + PDK along with those rear hips, oh man.....
This may sound really bizarre, but I want the Cayman and Taycan to have a couple babies. I would be an instant buyer of one of the variants. I know that Porsche must be working on this. I can't wait!

    4th Gear - 7210 km/h 🤔😂 i need to upgrade my 981 to the new 718 GTS I can’t get any faster than ca. 280 km/h
Just kidding, there should have been a pause after 7000 or a comment about rpm 😁😅 so it sounds like you said you are driving 7210!! 🤘🏻😋

If you let your face hair grow and get some rings, you too can look like Richard Rawlings.

apparently its possible to make a totally unexciting video about a very exciting car. 13:42 of my life I won't get back.

Too small for a 2 seater plus the price is not worth it. This should be priced at $50,000 USD. No wonder I don't see more people here in the USA driving this overpriced not-worth-it car..

      It’s cool car but very
close to $100k, with a couple of options. The only affordable new Cayman is the base version for $60k. Then you’re in the 4 cylinder turbo which is fast enough for most. It’s exhaust note may not be as good but I’m not spending another $50k for an exhaust note. Base Cayman for $60 or Cayman S for $70 NO OPTIONS PLEASE! Manual only!!
