I would hope a new car is reliable. I bought a certain Japanese manufacturers top offering in 2016 for my wife. It went back immediately to the dealer for oil leaks with less than 800 miles on the odometer, followed by transmission problems, and electrical glitches, including 2 trips to the dealer in the last month. The car currently has 20,000-ish miles and I am underwhelmed. BMW has a track record for costly repairs and I would only purchase a German manufactured car with a full warranty. There seems to be very few upper end manufacturers anywhere on Earth capable of keeping their top offerings reliable due to electrical/electronic glitches. I buy them, but it's annoying.
I suspect in some room in the BMW development office there must be a whiteboard with DOUGSCORE scribbled in its center and hoard of engineers trying to develop a car that can beat it.
They just need to make M version of 6 series GT and make it as low as possible so it can actually corner, old 5 series GT was cornering worse than X6 was

BMW M5 competition is better then the BMW M8 competition. They have the same weight, power, suspension, torque, and gearbox. So in terms of speed they are the same the M5 cp being the fastest 4 door. However, the M5 is more luxurious it has more space inside. Its also offered with massage seats and screens in the back unlike the M8.
Car reviews use to be more about the actual car, now the whole technology is taking up the majority of car reviews! Crazy to see what car reviews will be like in 10 years
Alphonsus Ho well, there’s still options like Car and Driver or Chris Harris reviews where they go more into the performance; people like Saabkyle is more into a full review, from the key to the infotainment and even the exhaust note; channels like C-Net are way more focused on tech; and our boy Doug is more into the “particularities” on every car. I like all the content on each TH-cam channel, I think they complement each other.

I really miss roadkill though, MotorTrend has the best car reviews IMO. DriveTribe just stopped, so all we have left is CH and Doug, maybe Jay Leno. There really isn't that many high quality car channels anymore. All those European reviewers are so freaking boring, no host chemistry outside of the channels I mentioned. I miss MT.
After looking at just about every car review this year, I have to say that this seems to be the overall best car of 2018. It has everything you could want from a car. Great Job BMW. Side note, I’ve never been a BMW fan, so this is a completely unbiased statement.

I appreciate everything about the E60, except the looks. To me, that generation of cars is the death of BMW, the brand that prided itself in its roots more than any other German manufacturer. So that's why i scrapped one of those for its powerplant and shoehorned it in a proper body, still in the works, for 2 years now, as time allows. A former M62 V8 1995 7th series E38. Which i've always felt was entirely wasted as a platform on the lower than V12 engine and entirely overkill (when letting its hair down) on the V12 revered M73.

All (european) cars that i know of have this parking light feature, usually activated by leaving the indicator to the sight you want the light to be when parked.

I remember even as a kid in the 80's hearing adult talk when someone got a new car. "Oh..it's a five speed? Couldn't afford the automatic?" Manual Transmissions we're considered by many Americans unless you're talking about a sports car viewed the manual as cheap and low brow. Used to drive me nuts, also drove others nuts that I had such a low opion of the automatic.
In regards to the technology of the speedometer telling you when you are exceeding the speed limit, I'm waiting for the day when they _unfortunately_ not just tell you, but send a message off to your local police station to inform them of your infraction... oh joy! Either that or the police will back door into that data, _you know to fight terrorism_ and will just happen to issue you a ticket as well.
Now that is already happening in UK when you have an insurance box installed in your carboot, try going above speed limit and you will get a warning letter from the insurer, who's very quick denying your payment in case of an accident due to speeding.

Alphonsus Ho well, there’s still options like Car and Driver or Chris Harris reviews where they go more into the performance; people like Saabkyle is more into a full review, from the key to the infotainment and even the exhaust note; channels like C-Net are way more focused on tech; and our boy Doug is more into the “particularities” on every car.
I like all the content on each TH-cam channel, I think they complement each other.

I really miss roadkill though, MotorTrend has the best car reviews IMO. DriveTribe just stopped, so all we have left is CH and Doug, maybe Jay Leno. There really isn't that many high quality car channels anymore. All those European reviewers are so freaking boring, no host chemistry outside of the channels I mentioned. I miss MT.

A sedan is never going to be as practical as a wagon, it doesn't have enough cargo capacity. He tied the M5 with the E63 in every other daily category, and the M5 beat out the wagon in weekend score.
He even said that an M5 Touring would win the entire thing.

But that would explain why almost two years ago he said he would review it but never has. Makes me wonder if he has ever even driven any of the other M5s considering the only other one on his channel is the E39.

I appreciate everything about the E60, except the looks. To me, that generation of cars is the death of BMW, the brand that prided itself in its roots more than any other German manufacturer. So that's why i scrapped one of those for its powerplant and shoehorned it in a proper body, still in the works, for 2 years now, as time allows.
A former M62 V8 1995 7th series E38. Which i've always felt was entirely wasted as a platform on the lower than V12 engine and entirely overkill (when letting its hair down) on the V12 revered M73.

In the us automatic transmissions we're marketed as being the the ideal. I remember even as a kid in the 80's hearing adult talk when someone got a new car. "Oh..it's a five speed? Couldn't afford the automatic?"
Manual Transmissions we're considered by many Americans unless you're talking about a sports car viewed the manual as cheap and low brow.
Used to drive me nuts, also drove others nuts that I had such a low opion of the automatic.

Lol electricity isn't the problem at all. The problem with all of this new technology, and especially in BMW/Merc's case, is the over engineering that they like to do which result in multiple points of failure for the car.
