The speakers in the back doors are like that for a reason. The smaller speaker is actually called a “tweeter”. It compensates the bigger speaker’s loud deeper sound frequencies by adding in much higher pitch frequencies. keepcoding1 To be fair, these wagons depreciate quite quickly. The Ford GT has been doing nothing but going up in value, so it is cheaper to own long term.

lol it's not cheaper to own at all and that's only if he sells it... the gas cost, insurance, fixing parts etc makes it anything but cheaper to own.
Victor K these cars are appreciating quite a bit. If he spends $10k on maintenance/repairs/whatever in, let's say, 3 years of ownership, that cost will be covered by the amount it appreciates when he goes to sell it. The wagon would cost just as much in insurance, gas, etc, but will depreciate dramatically.
@@vika0194 He won't be daily driving his GT, so maintenance & gas cost won't rack up too high, on top of that he already explained that the insurance on his 2012 E63 is more expensive than on the GT. It is definitely cheaper to own in the long run.

I don't know much about submarines but if he's referring to a periscope it's still a wonky analogy considering those are only useful at certain depths.
Looks to me like the lot of you forgot that some submarines have clear dome windows in the front that provide a wide angle of view out of the front of the submarine... either that, or you forgot/didn't know there are other kinds of submarines aside from military/naval ones.

Understandable. Once you've driven a Merc V8 everything else does tend to feel 'less'. But the amount of tech is worrying as I've found it to be deeply shonky long term. And replacement parts are very far from cheap. Not to mention the dealers who should at least have the decency to wear a balaclava when they're robbing you.

As a owner of one I question the "cool" score. It seems "cool" for Doug means "flashy" . In my book, the very fact that most people wouldn't recognize the beast this machine is , now that is the "coolest" factor of all.
As he said, most non-car people don't know why it's cool and may think of it as an average Mercedes (even though almost nothing about a car this expensive and luxurious is "average").

That's why you can control those features from your door. And, you should also learn how speakers work, the larger one is the midbass or woofer, designed for voice and midrange frequencies, and the smaller one is the tweeter, made for more treble or higher frequency sounds.

I like how you can control the power seats and heating from the driver side. Never know when your mother or grandmother might end up in the front and need some help adjusting the seats
I can explain the first aid kit and the blanket, both of them are required in eh EU or at least Germany, that’s why they alsways match those laws, probably easier to manufacture only one version of it... the blanket is also known as space blanket and it’s highly heat reflective, so that a injured person won’t lose body heat quickly and yes they work quite wel
Yup, blanket is usually made from reflective mylar and works great, though you'll never get it folded back up again if you open it.
They are actually pretty easy to fold up decently, not quite as good but close.

I am about to pull the trigger on a E450 wagon. It drives so nicely, good handling and has tons of room I need for my two large dogs. Wagons are the best of all worlds. I wish I could afford this AMG wagon but I'll be happy with the E450 :) Great review BTW.
We bought a CPO '18 E400 wagon largely because our older English Mastiff and our young Newfoundland couldn't easily get up into the cargo area of our SUV. Sadly, the Mastiff passed away this fall, but the Newfie is much easier to load into the wagon. I love this car. The AMG version would be better, of course, but I can make do.

If your dad is okay with technology then get him a touch phone, preferably an iphone and turn on Voice over in the settings or Talk back on Android and it will be very useful for him. It took me a week or two to get used to it but, now I youtube, surf the web, social media, uber and everything.

Im an intern at daimler R&D and a buddy of mine from design was very excited an showed me these diamond rear lights. from the far i was like so what they look pretty normal but as soon as you see it they look so amazing. it is one of those things that doesnt bother normal people but if you own the car its just really special.

Simple, his rating split into two parts, weekend and daily use. This scored well in daily use and pretty ok in weekend category hence the result. 918 not meant for daily use. I guess this car has found the loophole in Doug score!

One of my good friends has one of these in an almost identical spec, and it's absolutely insane. I only got to ride in it once or twice, but it blew me away every single time. I think I have a 0-60 video of it on my channel somewhere if you scroll way down. If I could afford one of these someday I know I'll be buying one.

The small/medium/large speaker thing might be just marketing, but higher sounds can be reproduced better (at least its easier to achieve) with smaller speakers and so on.

4matic+ actually means its capable of switching for all wheel to rear wheel drive if you prefer and again the glitter looking stuff inside the rear taillights is part of a feature when turning the car on or off at night or in a dark garage it does a cool little light show for you.

The best sun visors ever are in the 1995 Taurus SHO. You have the normal one you fold down (which has a dimmer switch for the drivers mirror light). Then, you have a small one so you can do the front and side action. But then, the small one has a slide out extender to block that tiny little gap in the corner where the two of them meet. Should be in every car. I know 95 SHO's are hard to find, but go check that out. You'll be blown away.

Blue light: In germany we do have blue light reflector at roadmarkings, which is positioned and runs through wilderness. this blus light is annoying for animals and drive/scares them away from the road - so I guess this is a extra feature to prevent crashes with animals

That's true, i read a lot about Germany and their complex laws and regulations, and those can be a real pain in the ass. But here in my home country, Colombia, we also have many regulations but colombian culture just don't care, everyone just do wherever they want and that is very frustating to many people here, that's why i find Germany interesting, knowing of course all the "quirks and features" of german culture :-)

So, in contrast to Colombia, Germany surely is an "upgrade", if you know what I mean (dont't want to bash your home country - don't even know much about it^^ ). But in order to study here, this is undoubtedly a good choice. I do even know many South Americans that are studying in Darmstadt, Germany ;-)
And, to be honest, you won't notice most of the laws in daily live, I think. That's something you'll witness, if you're "going deeper" :D

Survival Blankets are usually a Mylar Film with a reflective coating applied. The coating reflects your body heat back towards you. They keep you surprisingly warm given how thin they are. That is why it can fold up so small. They are also pretty fragile so basically a one time use thing. Me, I keep a sleeping bag in the back of my vehicles during the winter along with some other goodies to survive an over night in sub zero temps.

6:14 I have that kind of backup camera on my 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI! When the car is in reverse the VW logo (which is also the tailgate latch) turns up 45 degrees and reveals the backup camera

Doug, almost every Volkswagen for years now has been doing the rear camera thing, just even smoother with the camera hidden in the rear badge.

My 2015 GTI has backup camera that is hidden behind VW logo. Very cool! Logo tilts to expose camera when car placed in reverse.
