When the stack came off, Doh! Boy you didn’t mess around going straight to road gear. I thought you’d run it slow for a couple of miles. 😂 Looks like you got a good deal too bad someone else bid you up but I guess if you bought it, it was a fair enough price.

I remember going to those kind of auctions when i was a kid and finding all kinds of burried treasures. Most of those kind of places in our area have been cleaned out and sold by now though. Congrats on the new machine.
There's nothing better than watching old iron built in Charles City; Iowa - 35 miles NE of my childhood hometown - still in operation almost 40 years after WFE left town and moved assembly to Coldwater, OH. White and Oliver tractors were abundant near Allison, Iowa back in the day because Allison Implement was a White/Oliver/New Holland dealer until they closed in 2000. Good times.
Good buy Ross, I'm sure you'll have it in top shape in no time. Least ways no sadness on the trip home.

I watched the video again and you’re right. I remember looking at that and thinking it came off that gleaner combine.
Seeing that Glencoe Soil-Saver brings back memories for me. My late father was a Glencoe fan. They made outstanding tillage tools and we had several when I was growing up in East Central Illinois. We used their row crop cultivators, chisel plow and the revolutionary Soil-Saver.
That flying exhaust pipe is you trying to one-up "that Oliver guy" who launches mufflers. Now you need the newer bigger ones to fill your stable out. We sold the first articulated tractor in our area, a 4-150, 28' disk, and a 7 bottom 18" plow for $33,000 new. That 3208 sounds great.
Yea, I had one go through the windshield on me once. Now I check.
@@petepeeff5807 I was hauling an old Case tractor on the implement truck and a gust of wind caused the hood on the Case to come up, causing the muffler to tear off, and it landed on the bed, then it rolled off, struck the payment and then the front end of a State Police car coming to the opposite direction. He was POed big time and wrote me a ticket for "failure to secure load". I do not know if our insurance had to pay anything for the damage to the patrol car, but the ticket was dropped because being the trooper was involved in the incident he could not write the ticket. I guess he expected me to secure the shift knob to prevent it from getting ripped off.
There aren’t many auctions like that anymore where I am in west central Indiana. Probably a good thing because I have the same disease my Dad had. If things are selling cheap, I can’t go home empty handed.

Good to save one! Park it so the flat tire sides are up where the sun shines on them and they will round back out in the summer heat.

Ross, grats on a "new" to you tractor. Glad it made the trip home. That "hopping" is the biggest reason I'd fill my tires with rim guard. But, like you said, sitting in one spot for too long, they'll never come back. Can see those tires show major dry rot. Looking forward to see what kind of work you'll have to put in to get her in tip top shape. Those cat engines were beasts back in the day. 3406 and 3208 were in my opinion, the best cat made and the most easiest to work on. Great video as always, cheers

Another horse for the stable. Hope the 4-150 doesn't have any major issues. We bought a used combine once that was doing a "kangaroo" imitation until the tires warmed up, got a little unnerving knowing I had a 30 mile drive.
Congrats on snagging that one. She looks to be in pretty decent shape and a nice addition to your fleet. Heh now the mighty whitey has a little brother to keep him company.

I got my 4-150 on an online auction last winter. Same deal dad died and the son sold it. Its a one owner from north central Kansas. Not sure of the history of the 4-150s but mine has the fiberglass hood like yours think the later ones had metal hoods. I have the same tire set up also, the old boy had just put on new radials. He also up dated the a/c to 134a also so we got a cool ride. Would loved to had this back in 1975 instead of my 2-105 with that worthless Perkins motor.

Nice 4-150 Ross. I'm lucky enough to have driven one on our farm working a field with a White offset disk. Our local dealer would rent it out for tillage in the spring.

Those aren’t the dual’s for it. Two of them were the duals for the Allis, and the others must’ve been from the Oliver they had. They were different sizes.
