The cars are depreciating assets.... Dealerships are losing money every day the car/truck sits.... People just need to stop buying and prices will go down.
Jeep dealership here in Columbia has $499 for window tint, $799 for pulse, $799 for GPS , and $589 dock fee. When I went into their trailer to negotiate there were five other couples inside buying these rip off vehicles. Needless to say I got up and walked out happy with my CURRENT 2021 paid for ram. NO DEALS OUT THERE!
Hornet is worst selling because no one and I mean no one is going to pay 50K for that car, maybe if they were 20 to 25K max, then maybe they would sell, but there is no way those cars cost over 50K to make.
The Jeep product line was once durable vehicles that were affordable to the middle class. Now they're poor quality overpriced bastard Fiats. Cadillac ruined its reputation with the Cimmaron and tried to learn from it. Yet a whole slew of embarrassing mall ready Jeep products - the Compass, Liberty and Patriot (which should have been named the Jeep Traitor) are still being built.
No kidding. I offered 20k below msrp for a new 2022 Titan, they turned me down but kept calling. I just picked up a 2024 because of the manufacturer rebates
As opposed to buying a new car I decided to put new tires, struts and brakes on what I have. Much cheaper than a couple of new car payments. When the tires wear out, I will look again.
My Auto Import in Muskegon, MI. VW, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru dealer. They had a $5,100 "market adjustment" b.s. add on to every new Toyota. Not sure about other brand's. I bought a F-150, after 3 Tacoma's and a 4runner. All from this dealership.
Everyone knows its manufacturer's intentionally putting dealerships out of business with the insane pricing so they can sell directly and make more money.
Car culture is absolutely insane in N/A. The cost of buying/maintaining vehicles has ruined any enjoyment i had for vehicles. Stellantis has lost its mind in its pricing. Let them go bankrupt and no bailouts.
Same deal buying houses … I’m in real estate business , seeing these people starting extra charge for basic stuff… like if you want door 🚪, that’s extra “security package “
When my car dealership went out of business, I had the most impressive collection of Dodge's Ram's Jeep's and Chrysler's that you have ever seen, it was a Glorious Collection !
A Nissan dealership packed $2000 in extra fees. I was NOT interested. That and the car had the CVT transmission in it which is infamous for having problems.
I wouldn’t buy a new car with tint already on it. I’m willing to bet they put the cheap carbon tint on them and I only ride with the best ceramic UV film (even on the windshield @ 70 or 80 percent light-transmission). Also, not everyone wants dark windows… myself included. I typically do 70% on the front and 35% on the rears (like on one of my vehicles, a TTS). Also, I am the one to choose who applies the paint protection film to my cars. First of all, smart people are not buying these overpriced vehicles anyway. Even before the bullsh*t add-ons, they’re already near or over $100K. They’re charging Mercedes-Benz and Porsche prices for Dodges and Jeeps. 🤦♂️ Every time I see new Dodges, Jeeps, and Rams, I think about videos like this and wonder how much they paid. F*ck Stellantis Let them rot, America! Please sit this one out until they have no choice but to take 50-75% off the MSRPs. They’d probably rather send them to the crusher before doing that, though… the greedy bastards.
You could buy a nice RV, trailer, and a Jeep Wrangler (TJ) with money left over for trips for less than the cost of some of these vehicles (or add a little more and get a luxury RV).
High prices, terrible quality , too much computer tech stuff that will fail , glad I bought my used truck in 18’ it’s paid off and while loaded it’s not the loaded like the 2014 plus Sierra denalis are … no car payment is such a blessing in today inflationary times… foods the new car payment
The only vehicles with mark up over Msrp are dodge last call , hellcats and TRX trucks. Other than that , this stopped many months ago. So idk what dealership u at. But they need to stop that. Sales down as it is.
Insane i read the average new vehicle payment is 740 a month. Ive owned 2 affordable old homes with a garage an my monthly payment on a mortgage wasn't that big. Insane no way will i pay 60k for a new car or truck an thats about the average price. I cant see those prices stay like that for years unless there is many more big paying jobs then i thought existed. Im sure auto makers think there is tons of great dual incomes though many of them have an insanely expensive house an mortgage.
Thing is the Hornet was orginally a Daimler-Chrysler concept. Fiat took it on as well. I would love to hear from the folks who actually worked on developing that vehicle from tge start and how it ended up a $50,000 small to mid size SUV. Same with the Wagoneer. That was developed under the FCA banner IIRC.
My house in 2017 was 115500. this is ridiculous. i laugh... youd have to be a fool paying more than 50,000 for a car. BUT YES, people ARE stupid... and yes people pay
Worst experience at “Space City Toyota” They added a $7000 “Dealer Add on” to AÑL TOYOTO VEHICLES. I’ve never seen it that bad. It only had window tints, ceramic paint, and anti theft device😂😂
I would very much like to have a new RAM 3500 or even a 5500. I really like the trucks. But they’re just not worth the MSRP, let alone the asking price. Great trucks, but the price gouging has just killed them. I’ll be keeping the old one for a while longer. PS - I bought it straight off the delivery trailer, factory original loaded, no add-ons, no dealer packages, no mods, 100% Dodge RAM. It has served me well for over a decade and many hard miles. And at today’s prices, I expect it to serve me for many years to come.
My friend bought a Ram 3500 and that truck has problems the dealer can't fix. Another friend bought a 2500 and he traded it in after only one year because it was plagued with problems.
In the late 1980's they tried to sell a bastard Fiat product in the United States for $3990- the cheapest price vehicle in the US at the time. The Yugo. They didn't sell well. This would equate to about a $15k vehicle today. Yet 35 years later they're trying to sell bastard Fiat products for 2 to 3X that much. And in a world where there is infinate knowledge all at your fingertips, there are actually people who are buying Stellantis products. George Carlin referred to this group of people as the "dumber than the average stupid person" demographic.
Dealers will never stop. What I'm seeing now are dealers going broke. Stellantis won't help with incentives so they have to work with the margins they have. Believe me they don't have enough to work with to lower prices enough to move the metal. I'm figuring they will hold on until Stellantis offers help. Otherwise to just lower MSRP's 20K they will go broke anyways. Things look very dire for this brand. And with all the EV crap they have coming down the pipe it going to get worse. Somehow in all of this Carlos Tavares is still the CEO. IMO, he has done a horrible job. One bad decision after another.
90k for a Durango or Jeep? 😂 My parents always taught me never buy a car that cost more than 30% of your annual salary. Must be a lot of rich folk out there.
Damn ! 🤦🏽♂️ I can buy 2-3 very good used car or trucks. Compared to a new one, Kraziness. Become friends with a good mechanic that charges a decent price. I buy used and changed out what it needs immediately, Make it new again. Thx for the videos 👍🏾
Any Dodge product is garbage. The company only advertises speed and reckless driving. No wonder majority of TH-cam chase videos are Dodges. Every Dodge truck @ 10 years old is rusted at the tailgate and rear wheel wells.
91k for a durango.. HWHAHAWHAHAHAH hold on. ahem. AHHAHSAHSAHHSAHSAHSAHSASAHSAHHSAHSAHSAHSASAHSAHSAHSAHSASAHSAHSAHSAHSHSAHSASHSADSAJDSAJDSASAHSAHAHAAHAHAHAA HHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA ok. never mind. ill resume laughing in silence now. thanks for laughing with me
The cars are depreciating assets.... Dealerships are losing money every day the car/truck sits.... People just need to stop buying and prices will go down.
Simple economics Watson . Supply , no demand 😂
That’s not a dealership, that’s a museum!
Even if it was a quality truck which its not its not worth those prices.
Hahhahaa
Yeah, its purpose serves as a warning to society.
Payments like 1200 a month no thanks my 2 toyotas are paid off no steess no repo man looking for me.
why would ANYONE spend $70,000 on any car?
They need all the latest tech bullsh!t......
60 is tops for me… 800 horse power is the reason for me.. but 70,000, no way
High earners who buy a luxury vehicle with cash.
@@iuyozx If that was true, they wouldn't be offering 84 month financing.
@@pennhiker5117 For some people, its nothing to go out and write a check for a new Mercedes. The OP asked why would anyone spend so much on any car.
Dodge RAM dealers in st Louis have been adding those thousand dollar add ones for last ten years where I worked!
Hornet is worst selling because no one and I mean no one is going to pay 50K for that car, maybe if they were 20 to 25K max, then maybe they would sell, but there is no way those cars cost over 50K to make.
It's a Fiat. 😢
It's a bigger POS than the Dart. Another bastard Fiat.
72k for that piece of shit wrangler lol smh
The Jeep product line was once durable vehicles that were affordable to the middle class. Now they're poor quality overpriced bastard Fiats.

$121K I'm buying an Escalade,not a Grand Wagoneer. Lol
121K Im buying real estate properties. Smart people don't buy new vehicles.
Like I posted before, still can’t get over the dealer we saw with 10k markup on every single vehicle, including leftover 2023’s.
I'm surprised that some of these dealers haven't served you with trespass notices to try and shut you up.
92k for a dodge durango? WTF!
Who in their right mind would buy Dodge Jeep Chrysler for any price?
Naples dodge chrysler in naples florida is the scummiest. 88 year old man ended up paying 45k on a van listed at $ 32,700
My Auto Import in Muskegon, MI. VW, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru dealer. They had a $5,100 "market adjustment" b.s. add on to every new Toyota. Not sure about other brand's. I bought a F-150, after 3 Tacoma's and a 4runner. All from this dealership.

They could knock those prices in half ... and I still would not buy that garbage.
Car culture is absolutely insane in N/A. The cost of buying/maintaining vehicles has ruined any enjoyment i had for vehicles. Stellantis has lost its mind in its pricing. Let them go bankrupt and no bailouts.
DO not OVERPAY. Stop buying these overpriced cars and trucks
If there's a markup walk away!
Same deal buying houses … I’m in real estate business , seeing these people starting extra charge for basic stuff… like if you want door 🚪, that’s extra “security package “
Crazy how much these prices have gone up in just a few short years.
When my car dealership went out of business, I had the most impressive collection of Dodge's Ram's Jeep's and Chrysler's that you have ever seen, it was a Glorious Collection !
Been shopping for a new pickup in OKC. Majority are doing this scam. Tint and dent 899. BS. And these 30k black widow kits. LMFAO
A Nissan dealership packed $2000 in extra fees. I was NOT interested. That and the car had the CVT transmission in it which is infamous for having problems.
Agree

A real example Went to buy a new car-- dealer profit-- a separate item. Guess there isn’t profit in the vehicle itself
The one with the bed topper looks nice. Wonder how much that was.

For a $1,000 mark up….better call that a “tug and rub package”
Dealerships have a hard time letting their one-of-a-kind, collector’s item pickup truck go. It’s the last one on Earth.
Doesn't matter what they want to add to it. I wouldn't pay it anyway. Keep it at that price . It's vehicle , not a home.
Quality went down and prices went up, so they can keep them.
The only vehicles with mark up over Msrp are dodge last call , hellcats and TRX trucks. Other than that , this stopped many months ago. So idk what dealership u at. But they need to stop that. Sales down as it is.
Even TRX are 5K off MSRP at the other Dodge dealership in my local area
Just do your research before buying that’s for sure

Dealerships, keep your shite product. No one's buying.
the 1000$ markup is for the sales person "commission" i promise.
Window tint costs a few hundred dollars at an independent shop. The dealership is paying way less than that.
Who is buying these vehicles?
Very few people are.
To bad, shockingly there are still people willing to pay for that even if they can't afford it or underwater. Go figure. 😅
Dude there is a Kia dealership near me that does this Market Adjustment still. Westside Kia in Katy, Texas.
These Hornets have been out awhile now, I’ve never seen on the road! I don’t think they’ve ever sold one! It’s a low 20k car!
We are to the point of treating cars like cellphones.
You'll trade it in every year.
Let ‘em all go out of business…If ur a fool to pay sticker & over then u deserve to be fleeced..
As soon as we see a markup added it's time yo walk away! Eventuallt they will get the message!

It's because our money's worth less and less.
Thank god I brought both of my suv just before covid. And both suv are both pay off
You buy a Dodge/Ram/Chrysler/Jeep product once. I did in 1985 now 18 Toyota’s later I still hate that company

I’m going to buy three of them and wait for the government to pass the auto loan reduction act

Why is it 91k or 71k.. That do make sense
They not gonna stop, people buying them
They're gonna fuck themselves in the end of this. My local dealer is showing 10k off msrps and people still ain't buying
The used car dealerships are just as bad.
I would like a 1930s Jeep.
I'd like a 1970s CJ7 304 V8
Outrageous markups. No one wants one!
Stellantis ceo is smoking that venezuelan stuff.....
😂😅get a cybertruck 😅😂
84,500
That is why I am looking at Nissan right now.
Makes sense. You like crap.
