I would love to see John sing in person, I would be the happiest person on the planet. What an incredibly talented man, he is my favorite tenor, actor entertainer. The whole stage was electrifying with such wonderful singers . JOJ I love you.
just found this ! listening n knowing what Ruthie had been thru to hve this courage n strenght to be a part of this performance...brought tears ... to hve lost her sister so soon n go on stage.....
you're welcome! she was Fantine in 10th anniversary and did a lot of other roles, she's awesome! (there's also a great version of miss saigon's last night of the earth by her and JOJ, if you're interested...)
They're all fantastic. Michael Ball just broke my heart a little ... he looks so much older than I'm used to ... oh dear ... his voice is still top-notch, though. But John Owen Jones is definitely all there. He's an amazing singer. I know he played Enjolras once, and, as amazingspectacular as he is as Valjean, he's a PERFECT Enjolras (a strong tenor, unreasonably good looking).
terfel outsings the lot of them! most baritones singing that second javert part get completely drowned out, but i love how dynamic this sounds in his vocal range! go bryn!
The one on the left(short dark hair) is Ruthie Hensall very well known in musical theatre, the red head is Connie Fisher who came to fame winning the BBC TV show 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria', when ALW was searching for a Maria for a new stage version of The Sound Of Music
Quando o Bryn começa a cantar, o coração chega perde o compasso. JOJ e Bryn Terfel são os amores da minha vida, não estou conseguindo lidar com eles dois no mesmo palco.
*laughs hysterically* Oh my gosh, that would be sooo funny. I'm honestly picturing that right now and, once I get past the fact that OH MY GOD John Owen Jones and Michael Ball circa 1992 are on the SAME STAGE SINGING in this wonderful vision, I'm laughing ridiculously hard ...
I guess it depends if you can work it off. I played Riff Raff (from the Rocky Horror Show) in our schools show (we were taking characters from different plays and using them together) and that is probably one of the best roles going to keep you healthy XD
I wish JOJ was in the movie but he was already committed to touring with the Phantom of the Opera while they were filming the movie. He was asked if he wanted to be in the movie but he had to say no :/
request it to your schools drama department (if you're in america it may be called something different) but request it to whoever is incharge of acting or music etc.
@LuciF9 You didnt need to say that. We were already thinking it..........John Owen Jones is awesomeness with dabs of cool and smothered in epic..........in a really cool bag with shoes and a top hat singing every song from les miserables.
I don't know who the other girl is - Valjean is John Owen Jones, Cosette is Connie Fisher and Javert is Bryn Terfal! It's a mostly Welsh cast it seems!
Oh it was brilliant, it wasnt as much as singing as it was acting and hwo the characters react to each other but we did get to sing. Having Javert from Les Mis duet the time warp with Riff Raff was pretty damn cool
JOJ may only be know to Phantom and Mis fans but he is the best singer there. He was playing two parts and while the others made a mess of the middle he managed to hold it together. Did it sound slower then normal to anyone else though?
Yeah. I mean, usually when you look at Michael you see a ... really really physically stunning man. But he's pushing 45 now, yes? We can't expect him to look like adorable li'l Marius forever. And his voice is gorgeous.
yes he is i love him so much he's lovely!! don't get to see him a lot tho it sucks... i did see les mis tho and i do agree he was sooooo sexy!!!! and he doesn't even realise it bless... shame he's leaving les mis in june/july it really is!
Michael Ball is an amazing talent no matter his size. What a voice!! And he is STILL SO handsome!! A national treasure, and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. JOJ is FABULOUS!!
John Owen Jones goes straight from "will you take you place with me" to "One Day More" and makes it sound so easy. Amazing man.
I would love to see John sing in person, I would be the happiest person on the planet. What an incredibly talented man, he is my favorite tenor, actor entertainer. The whole stage was electrifying with such wonderful singers . JOJ I love you.
John is singing at Broadway now
I've seen him in Phantom twice. He's amazing, and has totally ruined me for any other Phantom lol
I saw him do this live. Now it’s hard to imagine anyone else as Valjean.
Patricia Harman I've had the privilege to see him as Phantom... unforgettable and incomparable
@@Yeesha0000ramin laughing in the corner
Michael Ball's voice is sooo sweet. And JOJ...WONDERFUL
Is that Michael Ball and John Owen Jones?? My favourite Valjean and Marius together.
Agreed...what a combination.❤
John Owen Jones is flawless and effortless! Amazing talent! A gem!
hearing JOJ sing as enjolras was breathtaking tbh
John should have been in the film!!
Elizabeth Ohlmuller Jackman can sell more tickets.
Agreed!
Agreed He is a far better singer than Jackman
Agreed . In phantom and Les Miserables
@Lang Xing Didn’t have to play JVJ, he could’ve been a side character or even just a cameo, much like Hadley Fraser in the film.
just found this ! listening n knowing what Ruthie had been thru to hve this courage n strenght to be a part of this performance...brought tears ... to hve lost her sister so soon n go on stage.....
Amazing hoping to see the Concert this Year John Owen Jones as John Val Jean and Michael Ball as Javert .
Les Miserables The Staged Concert at the Gielgud Theatre in London
I just found this!!! It was absolutely awesome!!! Thank you for sharing it. ❤️
I saw this live and this gave me goosebumps! a brilliant song to end a night of glorious musical theatre!
This song always gives me goosebumps!
JOJ'S ENJOLRAS IS AMAZING OMG
Four great Welsh voices and one Great English one! I just wish JOJ could have done the film! He'd have been so much better than Jackman!
I was thinking the same. Long may Wales continue to be known as `The land of song`.
And he's gorgeous...!
you're welcome! she was Fantine in 10th anniversary and did a lot of other roles, she's awesome! (there's also a great version of miss saigon's last night of the earth by her and JOJ, if you're interested...)
john owen jones is and always will be the best jean valjean
Michael Ball... The eternal Marius!!! XDD
I love him
They're all fantastic.
He played the 25th Anniversary touring cast :) I went to go and see it. It was phenomenal
terfel outsings the lot of them! most baritones singing that second javert part get completely drowned out, but i love how dynamic this sounds in his vocal range! go bryn!
Agreed … good point…. Most do get drowned out
Enjoyed this video! All the best!!
Thank you! I've been racking my brains trying to think!
i love how after michael sings "do i follow where she goes" the camera is on john
really!! wow i'm glad you think that he's a friend of mine!! and i fancy him too hehe glad you liked him :)
Michael, Bryn, and JOJ in one song 😍
your right, i saw him in london, he is amazing
I love Michael Ball as Marius! The best ever!
my two idols on the stage at the same time, John Owen Jones AND Bryn Terfel...brilliant!
Quando o Bryn começa a cantar, o coração chega perde o compasso. JOJ e Bryn Terfel são os amores da minha vida, não estou conseguindo lidar com eles dois no mesmo palco.
Bryn singing my favourite part - if I'm in the car I always sing the part of Javert.
rhunl he has a great voice
wow what a line up of phenomenal welsh talent ...and what a majestic snowdonia backdrop
Is this available on DVD? John and Michael together... wonderful!!!
He was asked if he wanted to be in the movie but he had to say no :/
He would have outshined all the others. The others are Hollywood actors who struggle to sing - JOJ is singing in perfection!!!!
At last a video featuring my two favourite West End stars, JOJ and Michael Ball.
It would have been just perfect if you could have added the third the income parable Colm Wilkinson
Oh my god he is the best Enjolras ever!
request it to your schools drama department (if you're in america it may be called something different) but request it to whoever is incharge of acting or music etc.
I am IN LOVE with JOJ. Okay, not in love with, but I adore him. He is amazing. Above amazing. Beyond fantastic.
JOJ is just soooo amazing!!!!!! Fabulous!!
This OSOME. Love this clip!!
john owen jones and michael ball are the best there
Haha don't you love it, right before he sings "These men who seem to know my crime" and does the eyebrow thing? Haha it makes me giggle.
@FallingUpStairsDPK He was the Enjolras is 1997, there's audio. he sounded really different!
@ManBig4 i saw in play valjean in edinburgh and he was just so amazing, cried at the end because he played the character so well

Spectacular!
@LuciF9 You didnt need to say that. We were already thinking it..........John Owen Jones is awesomeness with dabs of cool and smothered in epic..........in a really cool bag with shoes and a top hat singing every song from les miserables.
... wow. :) Wow!
Yes, it's exactly what he did. I love him as Enjolras!
Loving that the majority of the cast are Welsh!
I don't know who the other girl is - Valjean is John Owen Jones, Cosette is Connie Fisher and Javert is Bryn Terfal! It's a mostly Welsh cast it seems!
Connie Fisher!!!!!!!! She is AMAZING! I Saw her at the Bristol Hippodrome as Maria!
@ellz1020 Ruthie Henshall, she played Fantine in the TAC as well as many other west end roles
Oh it was brilliant, it wasnt as much as singing as it was acting and hwo the characters react to each other but we did get to sing. Having Javert from Les Mis duet the time warp with Riff Raff was pretty damn cool
Mr Owen-Jones, fantastic as usual. Michael makes it look so effortless, I think the bit of extra weight sort of suits him?
gary watson is my hero and idol.. he is absolutely outstanding i love him so much!
I'm totally in love with him..
Is that Bryn Terfel as Javert?
Yes.
John Owen-Jones - Valjean and Enjolras
Michael Ball - Marius
Connie Fisher - Cosette
Ruthie Henshall - Eponine
Bryn Terfel - Javert
Welsh talent, right there
Michael and JOJ in one show together..... Love
@Blofeld67 Actually Terfel is bass-baritone
@javertify It's Bryn Terfel, a famous Welsh tenor.
best one!!
Yes she is!
The best
JOJ may only be know to Phantom and Mis fans but he is the best singer there. He was playing two parts and while the others made a mess of the middle he managed to hold it together. Did it sound slower then normal to anyone else though?
Michael Ball as Marius and JOJ as both Enjolras and Valjean...OMNOMNOMNOMNOM! x
Good Lord... Bryn Terfel, Ruthie Henshall, Michael Ball, Connie Fisher and John Owen Jones. How often do you see a line-up like that!
Amen to that =]
HELL YES ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
John would have been far better than hugh jackman to play jvj seen him 5vtimes in phanton fabulous voice
@LuciF9 Most ppl that play Enjolras end up as JVJ later on. I didnt know JOJ also had played Enjolras before tho.
JOJ here!
@RaWrZzZz I was thinking the same thing.....must be her then! She's the best ever!
Yeah. I mean, usually when you look at Michael you see a ... really really physically stunning man. But he's pushing 45 now, yes? We can't expect him to look like adorable li'l Marius forever. And his voice is gorgeous.
@killercroc3493 The tempo is fine! I love the guy who sang the role of Javert - he's a real opera singer! :)
@FallingUpStairsDPK I agree, he would be fantastic!
Opened this to see JOJ and got the extra treat of Ruthie! Not her best performance but everyone's allowed an off day.
...JOJ playing Valjean AND Enjolras, with Bryn Terfel as Javert? Hahahaa, so much joy XD
Cool, Ruthie Henshall!
Javert is Bryn Terfel, a famous welsh opera singer.. I'm not sure on Cossette
yes he is i love him so much he's lovely!! don't get to see him a lot tho it sucks... i did see les mis tho and i do agree he was sooooo sexy!!!! and he doesn't even realise it bless... shame he's leaving les mis in june/july it really is!
Has JOJ ever played Enjorlas before?
I heard he had played Enjolras when he was much younger. His voice is the best for Enjolras.
JOJ is the best....i love his Valjean~~
Michael Ball is an amazing talent no matter his size. What a voice!! And he is STILL SO handsome!! A national treasure, and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. JOJ is FABULOUS!!
yes, chex432, that makes me unduly sad. he used to be so ... so ...
i love bryn terfel
@RosesNightengales He played it in 1997
JOJ as valjean AND enjorlas? my god, he's a god!
He did put a LOT of weight on to play Edna Turnblad in hairspray, I saw him in it on Tuesday and he was fantastic.
@FallingUpStairsDPK make that understudy. i got distracted by the video, haha.
@Markjobber2012 never thought of it that way...you're right.
Excuse me? He has played Valjean for many years
