Enjoyed seeing him with Michael Ball in the recent stage movie, especially knowing how close they are. We all know Javert doesn’t have dimples and it wasn’t his perfect part but I still felt it was special to see him in a.cameo role. Question - were you disappointed not to have seen Alfie or did you feel John made up for it? I’m spending quarantine ranking all the performers from Les Mis in all the parts over the years. At this rate I’ll still be in quarantine when everyone else is out and about.

Tina p Have you seen the 25th anniversary performance? JOJ was in it but not in a major part. In the finale he is one of the four Valjeans singing Bring Him Home. He is beside Colm. The way he looks at him with such affection and admiration just melts me, then he steps back and just let's Colm have that last note to himself, it's a small thing but I find it a very special moment. I'm always amazed at how much pleasure this show has brought me. Aren't we fortunate?
Elizabeth Verrill absolutely I did watch the 25 th concert that was when Alfie Boe was sick. Micheal Ball was fantastic Bradley Jayden was just mesmerising. We have it on sky now and watch all the time. I love the ending piece when they all sing there roles old and new and also when Michael passes the jacket over. Just love it x

I've been watching all the various Valjeans while under quarantine and picking my All Star Cast in all the parts, I realized the other night why Alfie hits me so hard. Yes, his voice is a powerhouse but its his eyes. Like hot coals. It makes him Valjean for me. Odd. I have spent many, many hours on this project, living alone and locked down. So help me - if I have to start Phantom, I'll shoot myself!
John is a superb interpreter......pulling all registers. That makes him stand out in comparison to other names in the industry. Alfie Boe is a bit captured in his operatic voice, which for this song, lacks flexibility and cuts off interpretational possibilities. Who is better? Individual taste makes the decision.....
