This is exactly the drill my local pro taught me a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for your detailed explanation. It is a fantastic reminder to do this very precisely and over and over again. My pro even suggested to squeeze a putter cover under the lead armpit. Fantastic channel, Clay! 🎉 Keep them coming.
Every single "if i do this, this bad things happens", I do. I'm glad there's an equal focus on what not to do, it's what some guides miss. Top tier video
Hands down the best drill for good contact. Turns a fade/slice into a draw easily just by following the drill, I thought the chipping drills were awesome- this beats them. Thanks Appeciate the great learning on your channel.
I’ve been struggling with a duck hook on the tee box and too much lead shoulder tilt at the top of my back swing.. this drill let’s me feel how to control my swing path and gets my body moving properly Thank you 🙏
I play regularly with a buddy who has a very short backswing but he hits the ball as far as I do - it's amazing how much distance you can get regardless of the length of your backswing if contact is good. I will give this drill a try next time I hit the range. Thanks for sharing your experience with us Clay.
So where exactly is the club pointing at the end? Am I supposed to be pointing the club at the Target or is a little bit of bend acceptable because my arms are straight? This is where I'm struggling with two dimensional swing videos. I'm new to your channel and I wonder how you do this with what feels like a full swing? I don't want to do half swings the rest of my life.
Drill is really good and ive found some success yesterday at the range., i did find heel strikes started popping up though. Any ideas what i could check that might be making that happen?
Would this promote pushing the handle and heel shots? That’s what I really struggle with and I’m looking for consistent contact so I can have enjoyable rounds lol
Why does everyone ask this question? There's 1 way to find out; try it for yourself. No disrespect intended but seems to be the obvious answer to the question.
Zach Johnson & Tommy Fleetwood. How in the world do I stop swinging at the ball rather than thru it? I believe this is what causes me to not let my arms fully straighten & lose distance. Everyone has a great swing until the ball is in front of them.

@@TopSpeedGolf thanks I appreciate it but your explanation in videos was the only one that resonated with me, I don’t understand what the hell others are talking about. I’ll just stick with the videos
Every time I try to do this drill, I find myself 'forcing' my lead arm to be straight and it restricts my speed/freedom. Is there some other way to keep it straight that retains freedom in the swing.
I grew up playing with a weak grip flipping the hands. I can make this move and it feels phenomenal. Only problem: it’s short lived! I soon revert back to my bad habits. Playing with a strong grip seems damn near impossible. If I could master this move, I would instantly leave my 2 handicap behind and be no worse than scratch. Thanks Clay.

No problem! Let me know how it goes.
Excellent...❤
Glad you think so!
Great drill❤❤
Thanks! Hope it helps!
Very true. Every word. It took me 10 years to come to the same conclusions and this 3/4 swing drill on my own. But it was worth it!
Thanks for watching!
Great drill
Thanks!
Clay, when should your lead hip start to rotate(downswing)? Last parallel before contact? Before? After that? Thanks
Solid explanation of all the mistakes I’m making 😉 “Drill baby drill”, to make it a double entendre.

Standing too close to the ball possibly?
Clay - I get a lot of pulls doing this. Any idea why and how to fix?

Does this drill work with EVERY club in the bag? 🤷🏼♂️
… wedges? irons? hybrids? fairway woods? DRIVER?
… or would you modify this with the driver?

Tried this yesterday. 50% of shots hooked left. Any cures?

Okay I think I got it Clay! The towel drill under my left arm (righty) helps keep me stay connected. If I get loose I’m a disaster!!
That's awesome! Keep it up!
