I almost cheered out loud when you realised the Tardi's "Thief" was the Doctor. I missed that on my first viewing. This is one of my very favorite episodes. Neil Gaiman's writing, Suranne Jones" portrailal, the way Matt plays the doctor with a perfect childish excitement. It is perfection.

Such a fantastic episode and such a wonderful tribute to the Tardis and it's pivotal place in the show. The fact that the Tardis is in some way sentient and alive has been established since all the way back in Season 1 of Classic Who, over the years the Doctor has always shown her great love and affection and even (to the bemusement of some) talked to her. Tom Baker always used to call the Tardis "old girl" which of course is referenced here and the Tardis actually says that she always liked it. But yeah finally the Tardis gets a voice and it's beautiful.

  • @selkie76

House reminded me very much of an entity the 6th Doctor encountered in the spin-off comics, back in the '80s. It took the form of a creepy house filled with illusions to torment the TARDIS crew and planned to consume the TARDIS's energy. It seized control of the TARDIS, but the Doctor was ultimately able to separate it from the ship and leave it trapped in the time vortex, where it was seen melting away over the final frames of the story, believing that new victims would still come to it eventually. The idea that it could have survived and emerged in this pocket universe, becoming the being we saw here is certainly plausible. ^_~

One of my favorite episodes from this season! You handle their "goodbye" a lot better than I did, I'll admit. It was really cool to see the TARDIS being an actual proper character, her dynamic with the Doctor was really fun to watch and also pretty special. Also, don't remember if you pointed that out, but the console room that we saw in this episode was 9/10s.You also mentioned more Time Lords, I would love that too. One of the Doctor's companion was called Romanadvoratrelundar better known as Romana (or Fred for my classic who buddies) and she was also a Time Lord! She was a companion for 3 whole seasons back in the classic and if there's one thing I really want is for the show to bring her back in the mix. It's been a while since you watched the Christmas Special from the 15th Doctor, but you might remember that right in the end there's this woman called Ms. Flood and she was breaking the fourth wall. Time Lords, well, the Doctor can break the fourth wall so one of the theories going around her character is that she might be a Time Lord. I obviously won't give any spoilers about season 1 or 2 when it comes out, but since that Special, that theory has been around. It would've been really nice to pair the Doctor with another (good) Time Lord.
Anyway, great reaction, it was really fun and entertaining, nothing that I did not expect already when I'm tunning into your channel at this point. I noticed that you changed a little bit your editing style. I'm always quite sincere, so I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of these editings that include memes that, like, take the reactor for the sake of the meme. To properly explain, what I meant is I like this 2:53 but I'm not a big fan of this 2:10 (even though, I'll say this particular one worked really well for me). Regardless, that's just how I feel and it's not like you have to change your editing because one person wasn't a big fan of a particular element, it's your channel and you do whatever you want. At this point, I feel like even if I absolutely hated completely your editing style (and that's far from being the case btw) I would still pop in here, just because you're incredibly lovely and nice and beautiful and fun and sweet and the list goes on...
One last thing... I hope things are good for you and your family now. you went through a very stressful situation and things got better, but I hope all of that is in the past and you are all good and health.

You should totally watch Good Omens. The voice of House plays an angel and David Tenant plays a demon. (you know the bit at the end where he complained about a new man sauntering away? Crowley has a heck of a saunter, and stole his actor. And THIS time, he's Ginger.)

I wouldn't necessarily say the Doctor was an idiot he locked the TARDIS to keep Amy and Rory out of harms way the Doctor has a duty of care because usually the inside of the TARDIS is the safest haven only this episode it wasn't.
Alot of people praise this episode but for me I'll probaly be the only one here this was the episode where I felt they went alittle bit too far with the TARDIS "being a living being" because throughout Classic Who 1963-1989 even though there were hints about the possibility of the TARDIS being alive it was really no more than just a machine a time travelling spaceship if you will I just think they should had left that vague.
The way i view the Doctor's relationship with the TARDIS is more like a bloke with his sports car or Captain Kirk from "Star Trek" who sees his starship enterprise as or referring to it as a "she" like their baby if that makes sense?
I agree I would had liked to have seen other Time Lords other than just the Doctor and the Master all the time the Doctor mentions an unseen character called The Consair who appears in one the Dr. Who spin-off comics who is another Time Lord and I believe this episode is the first time in the show's history to establish that Time Lords can change gender when they regenerate.
