  • Dice talks about the intersection of trans issues and system issues. Trigger warning for medical/surgical talk, transphobia, and ableism.

we're also a system in an AMAB transfem body and this definitely relates a lot to us, we have one of us who's very uncomfortable with the hormones we're on but we've been on them since before realising we're a system and we're trying to help him through the dysphoria

But for real this was such a sweet, heartfelt, open, and honest video. Everyone in this system that I've seen has just seemed like so nice. Why'd you dislike this? You good?

the part saying "when an alter fronts and just looks in the mirror like 'who the hell is that?' and just... [pats face] ah." made me laugh hehe
nonetheless as a most likely demiboy AFAB system host, i felt a lot of this, and a good portion of our system has at least some issues with the body. so thank u for talking about issues like this!

Wow, thank for the heads up. I hope to get on estrogen as soon as my mental health allows me but, I wasn't aware of the gatekeep-y intersection of trans and system things. ~LegiblePotato

🦄It's mostly for surgeries but I would still definitely be careful and definitely try to find an informed consent clinic rather than a place that would want to have you evaluated or something. These points are not meant to discourage people from being open about their plurality or gender, nor discourage them from transitioning, merely a note of caution. Good luck with hormones!

@@WeAreAlexandra I get it. I remember when the discussion of being nonbinary and getting on hormones was in air on my little pocket of youtube. People were talking about nonbinary people having to say they are binary just to get on the hormones they needed. Of course it was mostly in a light of "you are not wrong for being NB but this is the current situation" thing.

Oof yeah, depends on where you are and what doctors you see but it can be hazardous

@@WeAreAlexandra I was wondering, what is your thoughts on the body? Everyone that I know of in my system see the body as a strange skeletal meat suit and even I the long term host mostly sees the body as a costume in a life I am playing a part in. It's strange.

    • @WeAreAlexandra

🦄 Me personally? I consider the body to be my body. It varies widely between us. Claudia feels that if she could make some changes to our appearance she would be mostly good, Dice feels pretty comfortable, Susan is starting to become okay with it but it's still too big and too old. Kinda depends

Wow, we tbh thought that even if we all agreed the body gave us problems that transitioning would give us problems. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really fascinating, thank you so much for sharing! You’re incredibly well-spoken and informative, and you touch on so many points that I would have never considered (I’m a non-trans DID system). I love the logical and concise way you explain everything. So excited to watch more videos!!

Thanks, yeh, our old therapist warned me not to get a dx until after surgeries, because even with an established history of dp/dr, they'd use that as an excuse to deny us coverage. Now that everything's already scheduled, I'm getting a dissociative disorder specialist to help with system communication and i feel so much better about it. Very much know that feel! Me, Kyle, the long-term host, is non-human, and even though our body was originally amab, being in the body for so long basically changed my gender to a more binary female, because it read to me so much as a girls body. Then I find that every other alter in our system has highly feminized traits and I'm basically the only one that doesn't, it's kinda funny. course, there was so much dissociation that it basically burnt me out till I didn't really have a gender at all. Then again, I guess it might make me less biased in how to get the body fixed up to how the body itself is supposed to be, rather than our personal dysphoric influences.

The body was assigned female but I, one of the main hosts (I cohost with Tiffany) and I'm a cis man and it makes me feel extremely dysphoriated. As a whole we've decided to get on testosterone but we've yet to get on the hormones

I'm scared to tell my psych about my system because I don't want them to take away my access to hormones and surgery. :(

    • @WeAreAlexandra
      @WeAreAlexandra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Does your psych work with whoever prescribes them to you? If not then it's probably fine. As for surgery you can find other psychs willing to write letters if yours isn't

@@WeAreAlexandra i stupidly gave them my doctor's number.. but they did provide a diagnosis of gender dysphoria letter. my doctor is requiring a letter just to start hormones. i just don't want the doctor to take it back somehow.. but that's a good idea, find another doctor. i was thinking of just telling a therapist about it since really i just need to talk about it with someone. the only thing is if one day my system somehow gets me into legal trouble.
