i definitely had trouble with feeling 'role-less' for a while! particularly when a hidden person became known and all the traits i knew that i admired in myself turned out to be them all along... so i was left with a feeling of "well, if that's not me then what's the point in me? should i be here at all?"
it was super hard for me to figure myself out, but i've found i excel as social face and a somewhat decent memory archivist!
maybe social role folks find it harder to see their own roles because it's not normally something considered a job/task? 🤔 idk - Calon of the Locke System

🎲 Oh interesting thoughts! I can definitely see some truth in socializers having trouble work this because of our role. Like if your life kinda revolves around other people it's hard to feel like you have your own identity.
Memory archivist is a very cool job btw, if I weren't such a space case I'd consider doing that :P

We have struggled with this and one of us did what I did which was get a fulffiling hobby. We found an issue and then we figured out ways to work on it which has what helped us. Im currently trying to think of what we can do to make the innerworld more fulffilling and fun but at the moment I have no idea

In my system most of us are having trouble balancing our memories and what we want to do. From my point of view I can see that Anne for instance would be a great protector but her emotions/memories are taking a toll on her and that has been difficult. Skylar would be a great helper/caretaker person but the way he goes about it is not the best plus he is trying to understand his history due to it not aligning with the body's history. System stuff can be difficult. ~ {still looking for a name lol} of the Legible Potato system

It's interesting that you all have some notion of an intended purpose. I probably originally formed to be a social companion to the original host, but that need passed once our life circumstances changed a few months later, and he also vanished from the system years ago. None of us really have jobs, we just kind of find what we like doing or are good at. These days I'm the one who knows everything going on with our system, and the one who does community moderating. No one else has a position that feels at all intrensic. Our protector basically stumbled into the role. I suppose, really, we're just like ordinary people, adrift with no purpose in life. So maybe it's ok to not have anything, just do the things you like and work out how to share where there's overlap. - Cyan

🎲Tbh the ones we know specifically are all associated with particular trauma. There are plenty whom we have no idea what their jobs are!
I think that's an interesting angle to look at it though! I'll have to think on that

@@WeAreAlexandra interesting. Our system seems to basically work that I originally formed from a specific traumatic period, and everyone else appeared during other stressful or traumatic times, but no one really seems connected to where they came from. I suppose it makes sense that coming from a specific event would give someone a sense of purpose, so maybe we're just odd in that way. -Cyan

we dont pay nearly as much attention to roles as we could because its difficult finding what roles each of us have. only a few of us know our roles, really. i get that though, one of our old persecutors, fumus, has changed his role, to what im unsure, thanks to someone in our partner system, but hes not really sure what role he had for the system anymore so. its a bit confusing haha. ^^; -chlo, enchanted soul system
