I love how it's okay to identify as literally anything, but when someone decides to reverse it, suddenly you're not allowed to feel that way! It's so hypocritical
Yes, and not only your feelings but thoughts. You must think someone is x, even though your mind is telling you otherwise. These people also demand that you deny your own thoughts when you utter words. You must not use the pronouns that correspond with your thoughts, but use the words others compel you to use.
James Barr should not be given a platform. He cannot form a cohesive argument, but relies on insulting other debators or shouting over them. He is not an appropriate guest to debate on any topic
James bar is an idiot. He once said there's no reason men and women shouldn't compete against each other as there's no advantages for men 😂 he's stupid....
He is kept on for the very reason that he can't form a sensible argument. It just further proves the point that the trans movement is going too far in certain circumstances. It is a benefit to have someone so useless
"LGB is about sexual orientation; T is about sexual/gender identity" Thank you Bev Jackson for putting that into a wonderfully simple and clear perspective
I'm a lesbian and i am utterly appalled to be part of LGBT community. This is because i have been called transphobic because i believe that a 5 year old can not make those types of decisions.
These two gay men talk about being inclusive, and that there are no problems in the LGBTQ community, which is complete BS. These days you have these Non Binary, and Gender Fluid individuals, which align themselves with the Trans community, but are not trans at all. These Non Binary and Gender Fluid individuals can change their gender identity, and pronouns whenever they want. There is no stability in a community that can change their gender identity, or pronouns at the drop of a hat. Plus how can any of those individuals ever begin to think about being mis-gendered, or worry about another person not using your current selection of pronouns? To some of those individuals it's like a pronoun du jour, or in other words it's like a soup of the day, only for pronoun usage. This is lunacy.

@@jde9711I knew I was gay from a very early age, but being young it took me growing up to know what that truly meant. Kids may have feelings but they need to grow and learn themselves, before taking such drastic measures. When they are old enough and have experienced life and still feel the same way, then they can do as they please as it's no one else's decision but theirs. But for parents to make that grown-up decision for them and let them go through the life changing process, is crazy to me.
That’s right . Do not use any trans language, do not acknowledge that they exist, always “misgender” them and what you will find is that they will go away. The only reason they have any momentum is because the internet has made it seem like they have all this support, when in reality they don’t. It’s actually quite amazing. Mock distributions suggest that 9 in 10 Americans think this stuff is crazy, yet random polling reveals that ppl think 50-75% of the country politically supports Trans ideology. Most ppl are using the internet to gauge what they think the level of support is and it is truly amazing how we have conned ourselves into this. The internet has warped our perception of reality to such an extent that companies like Bud Light actually think that most of their consumers support Trans ideology, when they don’t at all, and thats why if you were scratching your head dumbfounded that they are running themselves into the ground.

Notice how the young guy belittles Oli in order to undermine his arguments without addressing them. This tactic is what people are getting so tired of.
That's because to him Oli is just a pesky woman in disguise. "You don't know your own mind little woman." That's exactly how he was treating all the people that weren't gay men.

The lady is so right. LGB is about who you love. The T is a reflection on ego. Also Oli took decisions as an adult and felt regret afterwards. If anyone is entitled feel genuine concern, it must be Oli.
Yeah, the gobby child is implying that because Oli was also deluded into thinking he was transracial, he can't speak to the experience of people who are misled into transitioning. As if those same people also don't delude themselves into thinking they have split personalities, or are part animal, or are males who can menstruate. The fact that the delusion CAN go as far as what Oli experienced is WHY he's so well-placed to speak to this!
This is the last time I click on a video that features that boorish "comedian". All he ever does is mindlessly spout politically correct slogans and insult guests. "Woke comedian" is a contradiction. That young guy in the right not wanting to even discuss and calling it “boring” is typical of trans activism as they know that their ideas won’t stand up to even the slightest bit of scrutiny. So instead they shout “transphobe!” as loud as possible in the hopes people will be scared and back down. Thank goodness for people like Bev for standing up to these bullies.
That young guy learned from years of watching the homosexual community "debate" same sex marriage. The homosexual community bullied the country into HAVING same-sex-marriage, in courts........ then loudly proclaimed that "The majority of the country 'accepts' gay marriage!" - When more than half the states have a prohibition to it in their constitutions and 29 have passed laws banning it. But homosexuals (just like climate activists do...) proclaim it as a "given fact". Trans activists are now pulling the same trick.
@@iyke4566 in the 50's, most people were surprised at how seriously McCarthy took the "Communist activists", believing that it could never take a foothold in this country. Soon enough, "grooming" will be protected by the courts (look to California now) and anyone speaking out against trans activists will be jailed (look to Canada and other countries already for this). I am a gay black man who does not support Pride Month, and after watching segments from ‘What is a Woman,’ I feel thoroughly disgusted by the left. I wish I could easily distance myself from the gay community. My sexual orientation cannot and will not ever change, but I can certainly choose who I associate with, donate my funds to, and support politically. By the way, I have been ‘misgendered’ over the phone, and it has happened to me throughout my adult life. I don’t alter my voice; I speak naturally. I’d only disagree on orientation not changing; mine did n I actually met some who had theirs change which really rocked my world n what I thought I knew, however it was their true journey and I had to respect that, so I did. However, I’d respectfully definitely agree with everything else you said. I had GD for years of my life and was seen as quite androgynous, did not subscribe to gendered roles, aside from obvious biological differences with reproduction and overall strength, and came to peace with my birth sex in my late 20s without transing. Male and female are what they are. I’m ok if ppl want to act/dress along with cultural stereotyping as they choose, but it doesn’t change their sex. Personality and preferences aren’t sex or all we are. I’ve been misgendered, lol since childhood n realised it was no big deal, just as you did. It seems like something is missing for those who can’t have a good natured laugh and just go about life.

Congratulations, you have just experienced equality. Although you have only experienced 1/500th of what a man experiences on a daily basis, you have at least taken the plunge and dipped your toe in the experience of equality. It's as if you are dipping your toe into a lake of water - a lake in which thousands of men are drowning in and crying for help - and you're complaining, "How dare men make me dip my toe into this cold water! I'm tired of men telling me what to do!" That's how entitled and out of touch you are and ambivalent to men's predicament, feelings, and treatment. Just a small sampling of it and you come out cursing and blaming what you usually blame for everything - men. Men are burdened with carrying the entire weight of the world on their shoulders and get no recognition, rewards, or even acknowledgment of the sacrifices they make every day in the service of women and children. We are the providers, protectors, creators, builders, maintainers, inventors, defenders, workers, movers, and shakers. When an ice storm hits and the power lines are down, who do you think is out there in sub-zero temperatures stringing new power lines to keep you warm and cozy inside? It's not women. So now, a small group of men are calling themselves women and taking away a very small portion of the spotlight and attention from women and you go ape-sh*t. That's why most straight men stay out of this fray and just sit back and watch and laugh. Watching women get equality is as satisfying as watching busloads of illegal aliens dropped off in sanctuary cities. Isn't this what you wanted?
@@briancosgrove3261 Trust me there are no words that can describe my level of contempt for those women pushing and accepting this crap, I don't hate men far from it, but I do have a problem with men who demand I allow them to infringe on my rights, and identity and use us as a shield etc. I also have a problem with men that insist on telling women what a woman is and how we are wrong when we tell them that being a woman is more than a feeling and no man can ever be a woman. We won our right to equality of opportunity half a century ago and yet we still have men (those appropriating our identities and those who want to be seen as inclusive or just good old fashioned misogynists) telling us what to think, feel and accept and that infuriates me, as I really thought we had come further than that, but it seems we are regressing and I despair for what the future holds for women and our rights.
Interesting that grown adults who choose to detransition are shamed while the same people show zero shame pushing children to transition. I think that says it all.
What I find astounding is many of the same people who argue that people (particularly trans) should be able to identify as whoever they are and that everyone should respect and support those choices (pronouns, names, etc) are the ones shaming people for simple things like requesting to be called "she" or "him" and not "they," or to ask to not be referred to as a cis-gendered person. And even more mind-boggling is that the person who is detransitioning is being shamed for it. What is more basic to the argument supporting trans rights other than that individuals ought to be able to identify as a different gender and be allowed to modify their body to match that identity? I really don't care how anyone chooses to identify as long as they're not harming anyone else and yet I see that there is hypocrisy on the part of some trans activists. It's become so extreme that a person can't even have a logical, fact based conversation without being called transohobic if you're not on the "no questions asked" trans rights train. Respect is demanded and not necessarily earned or returned. Saying this is all about choice but then denying others the right to choose for themselves is absolutely ridiculous.

My community is lesbians who do not want Ts anywhere near us, and are not willing to have our rights to female-only sports, spaces, and our language removed by them.
I noticed that one too. I found it to be a simplisticly deep comment on how the conversation has changed from one centered around relationships of whatever kind to one that's centered on the individual. There's something to be said about a shift in discourse that moves from "we" and "us" to "me," "I," and "you" (of course these are just my initial thoughts on her statement. It's going to be sitting with me for a while)
It's that simple? Tell me. If a man dates a trans woman, is he gay? If a trans man dates a woman, is she lesbian? I'll tell you, men dating trans women are accused of being gay, despite never having been interested in men before or afterwards. Gay men are absolutely not attracted to trans women, despite them being biologically male. Why are these things true? Is it not possible that relationships and/or sexual orientation are in some way involved here? Even indirectly?
The LGB's have been saying forever now they don't associate with each other, and certainly not with the T's as well. A lot of them don't like the umbrella "Community" term either because they hate the mainstream gay agenda and all the corporate pandering all the time. They just want a normal life without all the BS being thrown in everyone's faces. Like why do we have Pride Month when gay people in the UK form roughly 1.5% of the population?
You can tell they are different quite easily because attraction is actually "owned" by the individual. I can show up to a party with my boyfriend and people can understand that I have a different attraction that does not affect them. If I show up and say "I'm a woman" I have to get them to agree that biological fact was never a thing and that they have to use my words in accordance with my preference at the expense of their preference and their vocabulary.
Every single time I see James in an interview he name calls, bullies, and tries to shut up the other person if they don't agree with him. @@ALinn-vr3nl Bless! I will definitely do so, thanks for the extra information. I find it distressing that so many people have rigid (often hate-laced) opinions without first trying to learn more about the issues involved.
I came out as lesbian in 1995. This is nuts. Who you sleep with is not the same issue as who you are and whether it can change based on mood, perception, perhaps trauma, etc. The fact that most interactions with trans folks devolves into screaming and ad hominem without much actual clarification of terms and illumination of nuances.
nice job. trans girl here from the early 90s, your statement is very false. majority of all trans people live peaceful lives and dont bother no one. it's filth like you is to why we're having these conversations. get over it. we exist.
@@TheGamerFrog7048 . Drop the bigotry. The T has been part of LGB for DECADES, even before you were born! If bigots like you had your way (it will never happen) you'd go after the LGB next. Since bigoted right-wingers cant seem to stop the T, they are now attempting to align themselves with LGB in an attempt to be sneaky. We won already. Deal with it.
"Perhaps trauma" So far as I've seen, most trans are abuse victims in childhood. Makes you wonder if it's about not wanting to be themselves for self-protection.
One of my friends is a lesbian, a very outspoken lesbian and she is now scared to go to pride events due to men putting on dresses and claiming to be women. She says a lot of her lesbian friends feel the same. Bev is right.
Thats the problem with Tatchell and the other guy being the spokespersons for the trans movement. They will never feel fear of a woman putting mens clothes on and claiming to be a man and at the same time no male athlete will feel threatened by a F/M trans competing against them. Keep men out of women's spaces.
That’s not what people in the LGB are talking about, and it sounds stupid and made up. Have you met a real lesbian? Like .. in your life? Read what you wrote 😂 What we ARE discussing is that LGB should separate from the TQIA+, because sexuality and gender identity are completely separate issues. TQIA+ is about power, it is about the DEMAND that we as a society validate their subjective experience against our objective reality. Gay / Bi people just wanted the freedom to love whom we please and for it not to be criminalized - granted we got more with marriage equality etc. But these trans-issues are creating resentment in the entire population including among the LGBs and the violent hatred and public shaming, the doxing of people, causing them to lose their jobs etc. simply because it is not acceptable that a minority kicks up such a stink to feel validated. I am tired of having to explain that I don’t defend the trans agenda, that I don’t agree that trans women should participate in women’s sports and that trans women with penises are entitled to access lesbian spaces. This whole debate is absurd, it makes us vulnerable and destroys 60 years of political progress to accommodate a fringe group that craves above all power and that has stylized a mental health issue into an oppressed minority while using tactics, language and a distinct form of psychology that is reminiscent of what happened in Germany in the 1930s. Seriously - take a closer look, it’s unsettling and it is like a cancer.
Thank you Oli! You are absolutely correct. It is the radicals who are harming children and women. The guy on the right is typical woke left. You can't have a constructive conversation without them attacking anyone who doesn't agree.
1:06. No they weren't, they were cross dressing gay men, not trans. When trans activists are saying that a lesbian is a bigot if she doesn't want to have sex with a trans woman, when they are saying that men not wanting sex with a trans woman are bigots, it's ridiculous. Both don't want to have sex with biological men. That isn't bigotry, just common sense.
Exactly. I have been an ally forever, my dearest friend for over 30 years is a drag queen. He is not transgender, nor transsexual. He is a gay man. He is not attracted to trans men, period. But he is called transphobic, can you imagine!? That makes us laugh and cry a bit, because ppl are so ridiculous these days when it comes to sexual attraction. As though you can choose who you’re attracted to. If that were the case no one would be gay to begin with, right?? These people are fighting against everything that was fought for, for so long and they don’t even see that. So… We think the confusion started because we used to call cross dressers/drag queens transvestites. I believe that is why the ‘T’ was added to the LGB movement to begin with and people weren’t aware that it wasn’t about transsexuals or transgender individuals. At least that is what myself, my bff and all of the “girls” in the drag community believe happened. We may be wrong, but we do all agree that being trans is not the same as being part of the gay/lesbian/bi-sexual community.
@@melissadunton3534 Exactly. Nowadays it seems there's no such person as a transvestite, because if you cross dress you are trans. Most cross dressers were actually straight men, many were married. Now it seems like every trans woman then "comes out" as lesbian. Is there a difference?
They are also saying that gay men who don’t want to have sex with trans men are transphobic and bigoted and it’s so wrong. I’m gay. I don’t want to have sex with a woman, breasts or not, she isn’t a man. It’s so disgusting bc I feel for lesbians and straight men who are told they have to sleep with trans women, bc gay men are told we have to not only sleep with trans men but also the male parts of a trans woman’s body, and I AM SO OVER IT!
Three things: - Bev made the best point - LGB is about relationships, T+++ is about self-identity (mostly confused). - Oli is courageous in talking about his detransition and deserves kudos, not complaints from a “comedian”. - MUCH better conversation than the always-interrupting Piers would ever “moderate” (dominate). Don’t even know the interviewer’s name, but well done!

That explanation from Bev (LGB is about sexual preference, Trans, etc. is about gender identity.) was the clearest I've heard. They should not be combined. Sexual preference doesn't seem to be as destructive to people as transitioning
@@Unknown-dh8km NO ONE would choose to be homosexual and face the derision and ill treatment that still exists today. There is NO such thing as sexual preference the the notion of it usually seeps out from the faeces lined halls of evangelicals who push their despicable conversion "therapy" which amounts to torture. As to what I base me claim on... PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and those of every other gay person I have ever met. And none of them felt the need to "transition".
Serious question, why are people allowed to “celebrate “ a sexual preference? I know it’s an outlandish comparison but someone who is attracted to animals, should their sexual preference be celebrated too? I just don’t understand why people have to accept the LGB lifestyle to “celebrate “ it and if you don’t you are a terrible person. I don’t care about anyone’s preferences you do you, just don’t flaunt it in my face and then expect others to accept the lifestyle or else you are bad.
@@Unknown-dh8km you clearly haven't met gay or les or bisexual in real life. I was in the class with these 2 girls back in the high school days, they're all lovey dovey whenever they're next to each other that our PE coach had to split them up to stop the boys from having weird delusions. The point here is that when I asked them if they're not into boys, one of them said "I don't think I have anything against boys, but I prefer this girl" and the other simply "I just kind of feel like boys aren't as attractive as girls, that's all". LGB people didn't choose to be les or gay or bisexual, they're born with that in mind. Everyone in the class thought they're a weird couple, but no one discriminate dor hurt them in any way, that's because that's what inclusivity means, and because they didn't force anyone to acknowledge their existence. Key takeaway: LGB people don't deny their biological sex, they're simply attracted to same sex or both, meanwhile Trans people wholeheartedly deny their biological sex with this "gender ideology". If anything, they're polar opposite in core ideal of LGB community and thus shouldn't have been included in LGB in the first place

Not only for women and lesbians, but I also experienced this over and over again as a bi guy who started out in the "femboy" community a few years ago when I was 18. I had loads of friends my age, boys, who constantly get told they are trans or should transition. Boys who have had their lives absolutely ruined by these people who constantly push hormones and all sorts of medical procedures on them. I have sadly even lost a friend to suicide because of the identiy issues and struggles he had within himself that only got worsened because of this bs poisoning our society and our communities. Hell, you've even got politicians and doctors going around encouraging people to transition. I myself got told over and over again that I should start taking hormones and whatnot... so since I liked wearing thigh highs and skirts and thought it looked cool/cute that OBVIOUSLY means I MUST be trans?? It absolutely is what is happening in the community and pushing this rhetoric on young boys and girls is sick and dangerous and should not be tolerated. Not to mention that the trans community is increasingly hostile towards absolutely everyone, actively promoting indoctrinating children, completely confusing them and encouraging people to make life changing changes to their bodies that could be dangerous and deterimental to their physical and mental health. Peter and James don't have a clue what they're talking about. Typical rhetoric from those types. From what I'm seeing in the community, most have started to see past this dangerous and disgusting trans rhetoric and I hope we can finally put an end to it before it claims more lives.

As a bisexual woman who briefly thought she was nonbinary, only to realize through trauma therapy that it was because of the trauma, I agree with eliminating the T from LGB. My previous therapist goaded me into this mindset, and thank God for my new therapist, cuz she helped me rediscover who I really am. Enough is enough. Most of the "T"s just need intensive trauma therapy. The rest are who they are, but they are not a part of LGB.

It's women doing it too and allowing it to continue. There are a bunch of women pushing this shit don't let them brain wash you to hate men that is the goal to pit group vs group.

I really wanted to hear the rest of her points
Even the trans person on the panel was against what trans people were doing!
Bev had good point LGB was relationships/sexual orientation. NOT GENDER!
I thought her point on girls who are gay being told they must be a boy
This insane! People telling others how they should act, talk and feel.
The LGB founder made absolute sense!
From now on it should only be LGB. Now that, I can get behind.
Every single time I see James in an interview he name calls, bullies, and tries to shut up the other person if they don't agree with him. Thank goodness for Bev - what she said about the LGB being about sexual preference and the 'rest' being about identity is the first time any of this has made sense to me. As a straight woman who wants to be supportive and compassionate, trying to understand what's going on lately has been a bit of a struggle.
Yeah it's been absolute chaos and confusion. I genuinely worry for the youth right now, biology and people's wants and desires have become totally conflated
@@majormind1584 I think that's because there is a bigger agenda at play.
Yes. To this lesbian, she also makes complete sense. You might check out her organization and support her work. She and we all could use the support of allies. Thanks for your support.

And it seems like lesbians have simply disappeared.

Since bigoted right-wingers cant seem to stop the T, they are now attempting to align themselves with LGB in an attempt to be sneaky. We won already. Deal with it.
"Perhaps trauma"
So far as I've seen, most trans are abuse victims in childhood.
Yes, because being trans isn’t a sexuality… it has nothing to do with being gay which is what pride was about. It’s totally lost what it stands for

So…
We think the confusion started because we used to call cross dressers/drag queens transvestites.

That explanation from Bev (LGB is about sexual preference, Trans, etc. is about gender identity.) was the clearest I've heard. They should not be combined. Sexual preference doesn't seem to be as destructive to people as transitioning
Being gay is NOT a preference, it is a fact. Preference suggests that there is an element of choice in the matter and there isn't.
@@derikpham3368 Well, as someone whose met some of the Trans, Q+ they consider Lesbians, Gays, to be on their side, if they are not... then they must be with Trump, Neo-Nazis, or never truly gay or lesbian to begin with, they are traitors. The community will abandon them, if they defy them. They are united are they not? The mentality now is, WITH US, or AGAINST US.
From what I see, gays and lesbians voice support publicly, and don't even openly defy them. I understand it's from fear as the TQIA+ has very powerful and unhinged militant "wing" to their group. They have people who would harm others, harass, and can easily find out locations. I should know, I had the honor of meeting some. So I understand why LGB are cowardly and unable to face them, something TQ+ actually say in private themselves, LGBs are cowardly. Ironic, all of it really. LGBTQIA+ is divided, yet stands united publicly, yet in private, one side dislikes it, but does nothing. The other schemes on how to squash all form of resistance and assimilate them and many other mentally ill people into the community by any means necessary.
By any means necessary. And it's completely legal and endorsed, for them to destroy all opposition, by any means. Even traitors.
Granted I met de facto representatives who claim to represent or at least use wording as if they speak for EVERYONE of the LGBTQIA+ community. Not to mention, unlike LGB part, at least from what I can see, if LGB are a part of any militant right wing association, they are bad. Evil if not by the media and social opinion online. Leaving them to be assumed that the LGB part are weak, timid, and unarmed. Compared to the more well armed, militant, and willing to use violent action TQIA+ militant sector.
