Good video. I just picked up a 2018 Panamera E-Hybrid in Rhodium silver metallic. Love this car. Several intriguing aspects to it: 500+ ft pounds of torque; all electric mode up to 80+ mph; the regen puts power back into the battery and slows the car down so those mechanical green brake calipers and discs are going to last a LOT longer; standard air suspension; engine will see longer service life than a standard non-hybrid since the engine cuts out many times in hybrid mode and is either coasting or using battery power.
Hey Mil, thanks for the comment and really glad you enjoyed the video. I bet you are extremely happy with your E-hybrid. Great colour choice too🔥I was so impressed with the car, absolutely loved it. Only wish they let me keep this one lol.

Everyone’s different and have different wants/needs. Choosing comes down to what each individual sees value in. I know I’d be more than happy with the 4E-hybrid!
It's 2024, just found a 2018 Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid, MSRP when new was $225K with $40K in factory options and another $40K in aftermarket options. The dealership listed it for $117k, it has now dropped to $98k in less then 4 weeks. I was gonna pulled the trigger on this deal, but found out that Porsche only offered an 8 year warranty on the battery. That means the warranty on the Panamera is gone already, but the battery is covered until 2026. It's still a concern because Porsche put an 8 year warranty on the hybrid battery because we all know, battery have a life cycle, it's not a question of "if" but when the battery will need to be changed. The cost to replace a hybrid battery on a Panamera is $23k, the Turbo S e-hybrid cannot drive without a functioning hybrid battery, it's tied into the software and drive train, if the battery died, you have a very expensive brick sitting in the garage. So now, I am on the market for a non e-hybrid.
I’m a sucker for a Porsche V8 so I agree with Adam 😀 These V8s will be missed in a few years when we all transition to electric/hybrid vehicles. Great video guys 👍
@@CarChatTV Placed the order in August...halfway through my pregnancy 🤣 Good things come to those who wait (and work hard😉) . Plain white, getting full car wrap, satin pearl white. So when I get it in may I'm going to lose it another week, that will be hard !!!

@@CarChatTV I will absolutely, I'll link a video to it also. I dont' know how I'll last that long, my present ride 2018 BMW530e is a fantastic car but the Panamera hybrid 4(not S) I drove test was is another league entirely, I can just imagine with 100HP more of the 4S and better frame and handling it will be crazy !!! I’ve just finished looking through those pictures. Wow! That looks so classy. Love the colour and the interior is very impressive. I love the lighter colours it makes it feel more spacious inside. What a gorgeous car 😍
I have a 2.9 Tourismo hybrid it is a magnificent car, sports exhaust , 21inch alloys, superb elec motor for city, it is so much more car , practical , and much cheaper than turbo. Lower road tax, insurance, yeah u know it makes sense.
Another great video!! Brilliantly reviewed again 👏👏 Tough decision to know which one I’d prefer though. Either way I’d just be happy owning a Porsche if I’m honest 😂
We own a 2015 Hybrid Panamera. There’s one additional thing to consider, in our 10,000 city and combined miles this year, a gas station (Petrol) fill up is about once every other month. At $75.00 average premium fuel cost in the US, the fuel savings is significant. Amazing how many city trips we make under 15 miles round trip. Any way you purchase a Panamera, i.e. a Turbo, V6, V8, or Hybrid, you will immensely enjoy this vehicle every time you look at it let alone drive it. Fabulous Vehicles.
2 pints of Lager.... 1, The hybrid being tested doesn't have the sports exhaust and the turbo does. Of course it doesn't sound so good. 2, for less than £1400 of that 42,000 you saved, you can get an ECU flash that will up the hybrid's output to 562bhp and 830Nm . If you want something that sounds amazing get an NA flat 6.
I have the ehybrid. Did you really stick your foot down with some echarge? The electric backs up the petrol engine, with that back up it comes to life! If you ever do another comparison deffo try it. You dont get turbo lag either…its supercharged!
I’m still undecided , u reviewed them both too well , £42k is a hell of a lot of money , but I’d prob be willing to stake it for that pull! I missed Adam in this video! Love that cheeky grin x
Got the E-Hybrid. Nice car. Got some tax advantage in germany. Of course the V8 is the much nicer engine but it's rather thirsty. The V8 though doesn't make it a sportscar either. That's what the 911 is.
I have the 2014 mk2 S e-hybrid with sport chrono…….. when you are the wrong side of 45, female & get next to a wide boy in an M3 at a set of lights and sneakily hit the Sport+ button while smiling sweetly …..the joy is priceless. Laters taters! 2.5tonnes of family car makes mincemeat out of them! Just a noisy spec in my rear view mirror!
I bought a '23 e-hybrid and I love it. Plenty of power and MUCH less than the turbo. Not sure where I would use the extra power as I am not taking it to the track. I can buy another car with the $ saved. In hybrid mode I rarely have to fill up. Easy decision.
Awsome thanks so much for sharing. Totally agree with you the e-hybrid is great and definitely my pick of the two. Where can you use that extra power on the Uk roads, you can’t really. That’s why you get so much more for your money with the e-hybrid. Thanks for chatting with us 🤗
V8 and v6 have diferentes tope of exhaust system. You May have the sports exhaust also on the V6 and it sounds much better than the regular one, as in the V8
Hey David thanks for the comment🤗 the dealership we work with are known for putting on sports exhausts so you may well be right. Thanks for chatting with us 👍🏽
(E hybrid cool feature) Put it in drive left foot on the brake and both hands pushing down both paddle’s and then rev the engine using your right foot the soft limiter should be gone
@@CarChatTV very nice video btw. 😊👌🏽 my comment aside, truth is that in these high performance sports cars one doesn’t consider the fuel efficiency. I don’t have a car 🤞🏽
Put the cars in neutral NOT Park and rev the engines. That will disengage the rev limiter and you can fully hear the exhaust note. V8’s are hard to beat. I have the Hybrid and it’s still fun to drive.
Thanks for the comment 🤗 ah really I will try that next time. Thanks for the tip. I think the hybrid was great. What colour did you go for? Thanks for chatting
Both cars handled and drove so similar and were great fun. The v8 just had that little bit of extra poke on the acceleration and getting it down in a straight line. Hybrid for value for me everyday. Thanks for chatting 🤗
Completely missing the point of the hybrid version. For short commutes all week, there’s no fuel costs. For that weekend run, there’s more than enough power to make progress. The 3 seat rear bench is preferable though.
The 2017 Turbo does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds (3.4 seconds with sport chrono package). That’s according to Porsche. Motortrend and CarandDriver actually got the 2017 Turbo to go 0-60 in 3.0 seconds flat. Sorry mate, but the 4.1 seconds in the video is just wrong.
Hey SS S, thanks for the comment🤗. Our mistake there. Wow that’s even more impressive. Do you own a Panamera Turbo? I loved the interior of the car and the space is great.
@@CarChatTV no worries. I was considering getting the turbo but I decided to custom build the turbo’s successor: the ‘21 4S E-Hybrid! Love the ‘21 refresh (including larger battery) and the performance is awesome (0-60 in 3.5 seconds per Porsche and 3.2 seconds per MotorWeek’s road test). It’s actually faster than the outgoing turbo and the current V8 GTS! Unbelievably great value too.
Wow that sounds Awsome. What colour did you get it in? What do you think to the Taycan or are you not ready to go full electric yet. The cross Turismo also looks really good. I’m hoping to get one from my Porsche dealer to do a review on soon. 👌🏽
@@CarChatTV thank you! On the exterior, I chose chalk with 21” jet black metallic sport design wheels (with clear taillights and high gloss black window trim & door handles). If there was a Taycan between the 4S and Turbo ($50k price difference between the two), I would’ve considered it but compared to the Pan 4S EH, the Taycan 4S is slower (3.8 0-60) while the Taycan Turbo is more expensive (overpriced in my view), and generally, the Taycan is smaller with low EV range (about 200 miles). I thought the Pan 4S EH is the best of both worlds, amazing performance for a great value. That would be awesome if you review the Pan 4S EH! Looking forward to it.
