  • For years now, the Lexus RX has epitomized the suburban luxury crossover. Yet, underneath its skin it’s full of high-tech, including a hybrid all-wheel drive system that has powered the rear wheels with strictly electric motors way before that was fashionable. Well now, they’re taking the fifth generation RX to a whole new level of excitement with the RX500h F Sport Performance!

@@naveenthemachine I disagree, even if I wouldn't buy one, as I don't purchase vehicles with FWD origin that aren't compacts.
The RAV4 Prime (AXAPH54) is a smaller vehicle with less sound deadening and engineering components on the GA-K architecture compared to the new TALH17 RX500h. It is no better than comparing a Mustang GT Premium Performance Pack 10AT to a Lexus LC 500 coupe and calling the Lexus too overpriced.
The Camry V6 is again a smaller vehicle, which weighs vastly less and they perform equivalent to each other in the end, with this putting out better EPA numbers in a much more comfortable package.
Someone buying a Camry V6 is not even crosshopping this. It is someone who wants a larger crossover, with a premium nameplate and adequate power.
Your comparison isn't tangible, like others one can make.
Today has deliberately targeted the RX to have no competition in the luxury segment. There are no mid-large hybrid 5-seater crossovers with a FWD basis, priced below $65k.
The GLE and X5 don't compete with this. Only the Q5 somewhat, barely on par with performance of the SQ5.
Only complaint is how the RAV4 Prime has more rear legroom than this, when this is supposed to be a luxury vehicle LARGER than the RAV4, in order to accommodate backseat passengers more comfortably. Ditto for the SQ5 and Camry V6 with half an inch LESS rear seat legroom.
The shining spot for this is the fuel economy compared to the others.

*RAV4, Camry V6 and Audi SQ5 have half an inch more rear legroom than the RX 500h.
