Even with the battery "drained", you never lose the 455 hp. First, there is always a battery reserve with Volvo, and the motor has a generator that can also charge the batteries too so the electric motor always has power.
@@ftcryan ....all plug-in cars lose power when they have the battery "empty". Especially when you floor it for a long period of time (racing). @Eugen E I never claimed you can generate 455 hp out of a 315 hp motor. What I'm trying to explain is when the system shows a "zero" range or empty battery, you haven't lost the 455 hp as the system still has 4 kWh of energy in reserve to access and power the electric motor. The engine will start to charge the batteries when showing a zero range too. In theory, could you completely drain the system by continually flooring it and not letting up and eating into that reserve, yeah, and at that point, you are running solely off the ice engine. As much as I love Toyota/Lexus, they really disappointed us RX owners with the new 500H. Instead of dropping from a 3.3L 6 cylinder to a turbo charged 4 cylinder, they should have went with a super charged V6. Recently I test drove the 500, and I was extremely disappointed on horsepower and speed, including the launch. For the first time in decades, i'm actually considering switching to Acura, and from what I hear, I'm not the only disappointed RX owner considering switching over to something else. When I recently test drove the 500, it was a major disappointment compared to my high mileage 2008 400H. I'm not sure where they are coming up with these 0-60 and horsepower numbers, because my 2008 would smoke the 500 without breaking a sweat 🤣
3.5 V6, not 3.3, the 3.3 is Mazda
@@jeremyfong5684 3MZ-FE is a 3.3L
You just wait till that swede has a CEL. U gonna hurt!
Nice. Another non drag race.
This comparison is wrong on a couple of levels. First of all the XC60 isn’t even a comparable size to the RX. The comparison should be between the XC90, which is a bit larger than the RX but the XC60 quite a bit smaller compared to the RX. Second, the Volvo is a plug in hybrid. The vehicles should both be mild hybrids, for comparison, which would equate to the XC90 B6 AWD. Here, the RX would be quicker. I also find it a bit amusing that Volvo overpowers a soccer mom SUV. Nobody buys a Volvo to race like this anyway.
Does Volvo still sell vehicles? I don’t know anyone who owns one. Lexus all day long
LOL U PUT THE BATTERY ON HOLD XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD THAT VOLVO WOULD BE 2x FASTER IF YOU DIDN'T DO THAT, THERE WAS ONLY THE ICE USED IN THAT VIDEO. ALL CAPS FOR ATTENTION FFS
Toyota and Honda are trying to out due each other in terms who can build the ugliest cars in automotive history.
فولفو نمر سرعه فخامه
Не понятно зачем они сделали на лексус 6 ступку коробку
Volvo is beast
❤🎉
🇸🇪💪🏻😍
Wow... great. Same weight.. 100hp less. Let's do a drag race
Xc60 vs NX
Xc60 any day without needing to make a video
Tôi thấy volvo tuyệt hơn và giá hợp lexus
When you selected the hold mode you turned off the electric hybrid battery and were using gas only. That drops the HP by over 100 lol
Wow amazing genius. So if that was the case the Volvo would have lost?
@@SamCarLegion no. The Volvo would have won by even more
@@0xWill do you even read what you type? How does that even make any sense when we timed and got the manufacturer time?
Volvo is perfect
Lexus is bad 😊😊
Reality. There is none and none of any Japanese be able to drag race vs Sweden, Germany, England, Italy at all time. None ok.
I already knew volvo was going to win, they just do it better. Sorry toyota!
That’s what I said before the Lexus RX was uncompetitive before it gets unveiled and anybody drives it. Nobody listened yet here we are
The RX lost badly and it’s not even premiered yet😂
There I saved everyone 24 hours waiting
You will be shocked
@@SamCarLegion yeah unlikely
The rx500h does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds
The xc60 PHEV does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds
So there’s nothing to be shocked about 😂
Just wait :)
@@SamCarLegion whatever you say but don’t say I didn’t warn you. The RX isn’t faster than a RAV4 prime
@@SamCarLegion 5:17 I told you Sam. 😁. The Lexus lost and yet you insisted that we watch the video
Too bad you refused to take me seriously
Volvo XC60 not compete Lexus RX
Volvo XC60 compete with Lexus NX
Lexus RX Compete with BMW X5 Volvo XC90
This is even worst result for RX
Buh-bye Lexus!
Yawn.
