      Is it noisier than the previous generation? The panel seems to shaking at high speed. 4-cylinder doesn't sound too good, either.

    You are complaining that the Lexus gives you in the interior an 'old fashion'feel.....I don't understand. Most German cars are so 'modern' that you have to use the screen to turn up the radio!!! I prefer old fashioned than....

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Me too. Let me be specific: manual dials yes please. But outdated screen visualization and „stairs“ shifting lever and jiggly middle console no. There are examples on the market which show modern style but still keep manual dials. I agree that recent Mercedes are worse in user interface. Audi e.g. still manages to combine both

      The problem is some people want Lexus to imitate German cars. If you want German cars, go for them. Let those who prefer Lexus be. Even BMW is different from Mercedes or Audi. A car cannot be the best in everything. It will be best in some aspects but not in others. The overall experience is what matters for an individual. In most cases, while the German cars are generally as good as Lexus, what some people like is just the badge, three point star or beemer. Others are more objective and they ignore the brand and look for substance that matters to them. In the end, it’s a personal choice.

    I had a 2023 RX 350 F Sport. Drove it for about 2300 miles and I got a Check Engine light. Took it to the dealer and they could not fix it after 3 days of trying and consulting with Lexus Tech Support.. The offered me a new RX 500h at a very good price while paying off my lease on the defective RX.. I took it and so far so good. Lexus has recognized this Check Engine light issue on a small amount of vehicles but as of this date (Sept 3, 2023) there is not ETA on a fix. I thought all of you would be interested.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. Thanks for telling. At least it was good customer support / replacement. I guess the Hybrid engine is also more reliable

    • @JB19504
      @JB19504 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I was really disappointed as I have owned about 10 Lexuses and have never had an issue remotely as bad as this. I was quite put out aqt first as the dealer was highballing me on the replacement. He kind of changed his tune as soon as I told him to keep the vehicle as long as it took for a fix it and I would keep the loaner and I would talk to my lawyer, as they would not let me out of my lease completely. They said, "Well, your vehicle is technically a used car." So that's when I told them to keep it and fix it and I would talk to a lawyer. Then they came back with a much reduced price and offered to pay my first month of the lease. All in all, it was not a pleasant experience. Lexus of Towson MD if you are interested.

    A suggestion for a comparison review.
    I would find it interesting to see this Lexus and any hybrid EV derivatives compared with the Nissan Ariya 4WD and the Mazda CX60. The reason why it would be interesting is that these high trim Japanese models are taking different decisions about interiors and UI/UX design from their German equivalents.
    On the engineering front, they are also pursuing less high tech suspension setups than the German marques, usually plain vanilla torque vectoring, and so far as I know no 4W steering. Are they worth the money?
    An area which is not yet widely reported is how well manufacturers are doing recuperation of power to batteries. It would be especially interesting to know how the three Japanese manufacturers compare in this technology, and then see how they compare with their German equivalents. On recuperation I was especially impressed with the review of one of the AMG hybrids which was using the recuperation technology from Mercedes’ involvement in F1. I think there is a story to tell on how advances in recuperation may make smaller batteries more useful. However I am in no position to find out for myself, so Thomas over to you.

    The new RX has everything but the obvious. Finally, wireless Apple CarPlay, a touchscreen you can reach, gorgeous exterior styling with proportions that are no longer clownish. They could very easily create an RX-F, by importing the supra’s twin scroll turbo I-6 (which is really BMWs). Even in this tested version, which is quick and engaging, to be sure, it will never be as smooth as a 6 cylinder engine.

    I had very high expectations for this RX, but I’m a little disappointed by the overall “packaging”: the digital gauges don’t have a map (which is the only useful thing of digital instruments IMO), the manual sunshade is less premium (and also less safe to operate) than an electric one, some interior finishes don’t seem to be very high quality and the lack of a ski-passage in the trunk (or a 40/20/40 folding) is simply unacceptable for a 100k€ big luxury AWD SUV.

This vehicle we had here had a shaking hood above 100 km/h - what am I supposed to say about that? At the same time, I am also not afraid of stating that the reliability of some German brands have become bad, especially Mercedes and VW/Audi. We mention the pros and cons for every brand - and dont just judge me by the country I live in, if I would be born in another country, I would do the very same job with the same observations.

      @autogefuehl you didn't take the effort to read up some comments stating that this issue of rattling hood is fixed in actual production model....
      Yet you keep on recycling the rattling hood statement, and giving the readers the impression that it is a real quality issue of lexus.
      That is very unfair, and shows hints of biaised
