Any chance for a review of the new BMW X1 PHEV 30e soon in the future? Very little information on youtube of this drivetrain so far.
Time goes on chaps. You all don’t have your first smartphone anymore, why? Because their are better one on the market. Same her, of corse a V6 is nice but it uses more fuel, has more taxes to pay and not the torque a turbo has. A Toyota turbo will last.

Surely the electrical system should detect a voltage drop and like other cars, auto turn off the ignition? My German compact SUV does that, as does every other car I've owned in the last 10yrs.
Note to Lexus: Don't let car journalist test pre-production models 😁 PS, when I tested a Corolla Hybrid and was parked with lights and aircon on, the engine started itself when it was needed. Weird this Lexus doesn't do the same 🤔
@PLAN B PARADISE This is a US spec model as was mentioned in the video. So will be made in Canada as all NA RX's are. Toyota should have waited for Japanese built Euro spec cars then give them to the press to try!
What about all wheel steer? Had it on a 2004 Sierra Denali (Quadrasteer) fantastic. I fear it’s not as good on the new RX as few reviewers even mention it!
I had very high expectations for this RX, but I’m a little disappointed by the overall “packaging”: the digital gauges don’t have a map (which is the only useful thing of digital instruments IMO), the manual sunshade is less premium (and also less safe to operate) than an electric one, some interior finishes don’t seem to be very high quality and the lack of a ski-passage in the trunk (or a 40/20/40 folding) is simply unacceptable for a 100k€ big luxury AWD SUV. I appreciate the new “direct4” system which is paired with a real gearbox, however I’m still not sure about the 4 cylinders turbo engine.
Hi Michele, you might be blown if you test drive one yourself rather than someone opinion on TH-cam. I drove the 500 FSport performance earlier today it was exhilarating and you won’t know it’s got a 4cylinder ice. The torque and the way the six speed gearbox was mated ensures a seat hugging performance.
It is a beautiful car indeed. I may understand much of your critique. It is a good car though. The building quality was not its best as the presented car was a US car. Exterior design is exceptional in comparison to „strange“ looking mercedes glc/gle. I bet you won’t get a better car for the price. bmw / mercedes you are paying extra for everything… I love the new bmw x7 (starting price 85pounds in UK!!) or iM. iM is really a 2023 car , all perks, the performance ..price is 115.000 pounds. I had to put some context here guys.

This guy is a joke... the turning indicators don't sound premium, give me a break, lets just settle on the fact that this is the only car that isn't going to break the bank with repairs because it is built rock solid unlike the German junk that is sold all over the world.
We rate all details! I agree that Toyota Lexus have best reliability as I said, but that doesnt mean that their cars are flawless in everything. And please keep comments constructive and not insulting!
Front hood is shaking due to wind, noise insulation is worse than in GLC, which is a segment lower than RX and there are still people who call this japanese toy a premium brand. It is a joke.

Another your superficial video of Lexus, when is not german car, is not good, Lexus is 10 x better than german car with a lot of mecanical problems after 50 000 km, carbonization of motor , etc.., Japaneese car is best quality with no problem in future. You show that not space inside of RX, you are ridiculous
These are accusations. Indeed Toyota and Lexus score very good reliability rankings, and I always say that. This specific car here was not very well built and you can see it when the front hood starts to shake on the motorway. I have no brand bias. Assuming I would rate German cars better just because I live in Germany is unfair from your side.
Unfair observation. We treat every vehicle the very same fair way. I dont care about where the car is built, as long as human rights arent violated. This vehicle we had here had a shaking hood above 100 km/h - what am I supposed to say about that? At the same time, I am also not afraid of stating that the reliability of some German brands have become bad, especially Mercedes and VW/Audi. We mention the pros and cons for every brand - and dont just judge me by the country I live in, if I would be born in another country, I would do the very same job with the same observations.
@autogefuehl you didn't take the effort to read up some comments stating that this issue of rattling hood is fixed in actual production model.... Yet you keep on recycling the rattling hood statement, and giving the readers the impression that it is a real quality issue of lexus. That is very unfair, and shows hints of biaised

Great informative and detailled review as usual Thomas, gotta appreciate the Deutsche gründlichkeit of our eastern neighbours! Lexus infotainement system finally looking a bit more modern.
Any chance for a review of the new BMW X1 PHEV 30e soon in the future? Very little information on youtube of this drivetrain so far.

Sure we can try!
The V6 was better overall, I think
The sound especially
It was tuned by Yamaha
Time goes on chaps. You all don’t have your first smartphone anymore, why? Because their are better one on the market.
Same her, of corse a V6 is nice but it uses more fuel, has more taxes to pay and not the torque a turbo has. A Toyota turbo will last.
@@jandebuhr torque is the main factor. It is really useful if you live in a hilly area.
@@jandebuhr in such a big car i doubt. My ex bmw x4 20d used exactly the same amount of fuel in all different circumstances than the current x4 m40d i have. There you go 4vs6 cylinder.
Surely the electrical system should detect a voltage drop and like other cars, auto turn off the ignition? My German compact SUV does that, as does every other car I've owned in the last 10yrs.
Obviously not… was not the first time
Note to Lexus: Don't let car journalist test pre-production models 😁 PS, when I tested a Corolla Hybrid and was parked with lights and aircon on, the engine started itself when it was needed. Weird this Lexus doesn't do the same 🤔
@PLAN B PARADISE This is a US spec model as was mentioned in the video. So will be made in Canada as all NA RX's are. Toyota should have waited for Japanese built Euro spec cars then give them to the press to try!
so no wireless charging?
I love this car
The parts under the hood are of a much higher quality than any German brand and that's what's more important on the long run
I find Lexus is cutting corners on these new products
@@asianskywalker also the interior is nicer
You can definitely fold the rear middle seat individually, i did it myself on a demo car.
Hi Thomas, would you keep a 2021 Rx fsports or get this 500h?
Dont see a big reason to change
Thanks!
Thomas, I am shocked to see they sell this model of RX in Europe as it consumes so much fuel compared to the 350h.
I had to put some context here guys.
you have no idea what you are talking about. This RX version is only made in Japan and exported. The other versions(for North America, are made in Canada).

Very interesting…a (mostly) well made car that is durable, reliable and good enough…but also oddly dated, totally uninvolving, fairly comfortable, a bit thirsty and strange looks. So Lexus never changes…a good car…when you are old and as I’m only 75, I’m not old enough yet….now Porsche Cayenne GTS…hmmm…yep…that’s more like it!!😬😀😀😀😀
The infotainment screen looks very out of place. The noon-symmetrical shape and the start button. I think Lexus just moved the screen forward from the previous generation. It's fine on a Corolla or Rav4 but not on a Lexus. Yikes...And the two center vents, it's tilted. It's not a good psychological affect. LOL
Great ergonomics - that's what I would want for my next E-Class. I'm afraid Mercedes will continue to try to compete with Volkswagen.
