    You're a lucky man to have a welding buddy like that, and working for him to pay the way. So you say you are going to keep something... probably have it sold before the video comes out!

What a great find! dont see any nimbals on the lakes here. its great to have spare boats and transportation. thats why i keep rvs and boats in different places to pick up and go without towing and saves a ton of fuel and insurance $$$.looking forward of your review on your completed parts of your boat. great to have a craftsman available ! tightlines Brenton!

    I have seen you get in to some very shallow conditions where a poling platform could be very handy. It could prevent you from having to get in the water and pull.
    If you leave a boat in Fla it could pay for itself in fuel savings in a few years by not having to pull one back and forth. As long as you don't have to pay storage. But leaving it in the care of a master aluminum welder might not be a bad idea. He worked wonders on your other one.

    Question...I have seen these Nomads on the Great Loop and have always wondered...what happens when you catch a wave and flood the forward cockpit? On our Loop, we ran into these kind of conditions unavoidably a few times in our Ranger 25 and got me to wondering....keep up the great videos.

    • @TheOldGrouch
      @TheOldGrouch ปีที่แล้ว

      There are cockpit scuppers on front and rear cockpits that drain just fine. They have one way valves so water goes out easily without coming in. One on each side of the front drains well and the rears do a good job as seen in the pressure washing. The front outside flapper valves can be replaced easily and the rear scuppers can be bought from west marine or Amazon pretty cheaply as they are not native to Nimbles (common parts.)

    • @backwatersandbackroads
      @backwatersandbackroads  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, more/less what grouch said ;) the sides of the Nomad are extremely high (makes it a hard boat to get in and out of) honestly, I think the front could be swamped and it wouldn't sink the boat. Getting the interior swamped might get you in trouble.
