    My wonderful friend, Brentson, I so envy your energy and drive. I worked real jobs for 50 years and hate that I can't do what I want to do!! When I finally get on that shanty boat waiting on me it's gonna be a slow, easy life. Blessings to all!!

    When that orbital sander is not cutting it, get an angle grinder, and some paint stripper discs. It will go 10x faster. Good luck!

    Now that's going to be an adventurous crossing! Grab some cheap snorkeling gear and a GoPro before you go too! Not only would it be an amazing life experience and memorable trip for you, I think a video series like that would really boost your channel.

    ....I have crossed to the Bahamas from Miami a few times in a deep vee boat....crossing to the Bahamas in a flat bottom boat can be done ONLY if the seas are calm....so plan accordingly....😊

    I have done numerous crossing from Chicago to St Joe across Lake Michigan , in a 24’ Bayliner Ciera 😅 , and a 22’ O Day sailboat .
    You should do fine . I live in south suburbs .
    Also painted many boats tip and roll , worked great .

    If you do go to the Bahamas...just make sure you don't get lost in the Bermuda Triangle. The waves around the Bahamas area are relatively mild for the Atlantic...so, it should be doable in the summer in a small boat.

    Buddy, sorry I'm not online much since I hit the road. You are correct, sir. The backroads and small towns are the best.
    I'm heading to the Ozarks. In Daniel Boone national forest at the moment. I have a hitching rail in my camp site. Too bad I don't have horses. lol

    Love learning about these little boats.Thanks so much for sharing Brenton. Regarding taking it over to the Bahamas there's another channel I follow with a sailboat guy who has sailed across to europe. He came down to Florida and took a little 17 ft Hobie Cat across to the bahamas. The little ones that have just the trampoline platforms. So if he can do it, I''m sure You'd be able to do it with this too. 😊👍

    • @backwatersandbackroads
      @backwatersandbackroads  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow. He sailed it to Europe? This Nomad is for sale this summer. I'll be finishing the paint. There's a boat here anchored near me called a "Flicka" you might like. It can be hard to find info because they aren't super common and there's a movie about a horse! Lol

    • @222dyan
      @222dyan 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@backwatersandbackroads Very cool about the boat available and that you are selling this one! I really like this one. That extra 5 ft would be perfect I think.
      I think my vehicle could tow it too.
      Oh, sorry, I have to clarify.He sails to Europe on a 28ft sailboat and he only went to the bahamas on the little hobie cat from FL. Lol
      I love the name Flicka, I know the story well. 😊🐎🌊
      There's another young woman with a TH-cam channel who is sailing around the world Solo in a vintage Danish 27 ft sailboat, I follow her too. I love all these adventures on the water, time to get out there myself.
      Thanks again for all your content.😊👋🌊🛥

    The Crossing to the Bahamas is more like 80 miles, due to most people will start farther south instead of battling the currents you can go with the East coast Atlantic current so you won't have to fight 8 foot waves. ! Coming back you'll want to follow the same protocol and expect to land back in the states farther north than when you left!
