Very nice! You gave me a chuckle when you couldn't remember the name for what you were talking about in the engine compartment. A very handsome vessel indeed.
I am extremely impressed. That has to be the best use of 25 feet that I have ever seen in a sport boat and I speak from a great deal of marine experience having been a comercial fisherman for 18 years. If you are ever thinking of selling her please let me know.
I love the boat too and use it regularly. I guess I’ve run out if things to say in my videos. I should do a new tour video though, because I have made some other improvements
Mr.. your little trawler is the SHIZ!! (mean HAPPENING!) YOU went over majority of the boat in 11 minutes and your boat is awesome! I am looking to purchase a 25ft. Nortic Tug, but it's gotta have a small bathroom. See I live in Connecticut and I wanna purchase a small boat to live on, travel up down into Long Island Sound up into the Hudson River and take the Erie Canal into the Great Lakes, or into Lake Champlain into the Saint Lawrence River into Hudson Bay.. It's awesome going through the locks and just being on the water! But your video is awesome!!
Thanks, I could live on this boat so easily. It's got everything I need, I go away for days at a time and when I have to go back to work I don't want to leave it, I could just keep going. It's the perfect size for me. The Nordic tugs are nice boats too but a little fancier than mine.
Taking the locks to Whitehall would be an adventure. I used to hunt there. Maybe you will get to see Champ on the lake. It's a big lake. Probably a 250 mile trip. I used to live in Huntington. I was on the water fishing the triangle all the time.
Has a good pedigree behind it. A big 25 feet, most boats that size wouldn't have near the amenities you have. Only thing I would do differently is not have so much blue. Thank you for sharing it with us.
It is a perfect boat for cruising around B.C. It’s just the right size for one or two people and the fuel and maintenance is affordable. Happy New Year!
This, 3 feet longer, to allow a proper shower and a proper closet, for longer voyages, would make this perfect. And at this size, i think i would also prefer an outboard.
@@c39v26 I’m going out for a couple of days in the boat tomorrow. I’ll try to remember to measure the head room in each part of the cabin and then let you know when I get back.
David Dempsey I have a 100 watt panel on the wheelhouse roof which keeps the house batteries charged up when I'm at anchor. The only real draw I have on the batteries when anchored are my fridge and any lights that I may use which are all LEDs. You are right though it would be a good spot for more solar panels.
Looks awesome! I love pocket trawlers/tugs. We want a Ranger so badly! Also cheers to a fellow PNWer. Anyone who boats around here knows that sunbathing is not a priority, to say the least. Great cruiser. Have you done the inside yet?
Thanks I'm having lots of fun with the boat . It cost about one fifth of what a Ranger Tug costs and is very similar but a little simpler. There are a couple for sale in BC right now .
Top fun guy Yeah those Rangers are very expensive brand new, especially the bigger ones. We are looking at used 21EC, which is their smallest, and cruises at 6-9 knots while sipping fuel at about 15-20nmpg...pints per hour. We're looking at 2008 and newer models just for reliability ease of use reasons. Even still those little things are well within our price range. I also really love the large back cockpit: www.rangertugs.com/R-21EC?tour=yes&=vt.prestigevision.com/ranger-tugs/ma497/embed.html (mute speakers) which will be great for entertaining. One day we'll need something bigger for longer trips and such, but for now the 21EC is damn near perfect for our needs. But enough about that. I just wanted to give you a shout out after the last commenter. It seems some people just don't understand that different boats appeal to different people, and not to assume what you want out of a boat is the same that others do. Making a statement such as "It's not very good for cruising" when I'm assuming he's never even set eyes on one of these boats in real life just doesn't make any sense to me. I've been shopping for a small tug/trawler for months, and have done a ton of research. Your little 25 looks to me like an awesome cruiser, and I'm glad that you guys are able to appreciate it. You didn't answer my question. Have you guys gone inside to Alaska yet?
Drew Johnson It occurs to me you might have already answered that in the video. I actually watched it muted the first time so as not to wake up my fiance sleeping next to me...watching it with audio now.
The Ranger 25 is a unique little trawler given the size . It should be nice for a young couple. Another beautiful boat is a Vashon Trawler . I think they are 23 feet and very seaworthy. Make sure you check out my latest video . It is my best. Where do you live?
Side note: how hard would it be to add some sound proofing to the engine compartment to cut that engine noise down a bit? Is it that loud in person or just the microphone on your camera being a little too sensitive?
Decent little trawler and VERY economical too! Lots of headroom too. What would the approximate value of that boat be in Canadian dollars? Did they make a lot of this model? 👍
There were less than 20 made. They do come up for sale occasionally. It’s difficult to say what one would go for now because there seems to be a frenzy of boat buying here and boats are selling like crazy. I’d say that you’d be lucky if one came up for sale at $35,000 Canadian. Realistically I think it could go for much more.
Eric Leishman Oh yes, I still have it and just got back from a 3 day cruise. I’ve been really lazy and haven’t thought about making any new videos but I will get back to doing that soon.

Lake Diefenbaker, Last Mountain Lake and certainly over into Manitoba to cruise Lake Winipegossa and Lake Winipeg. Can you give a link to the manufacturer.
