  • I have found my new favourite LCD Mirror / Dash Cam - Full Video review coming soon!
    To view the item made by Acumen visit amazon here: amzn.to/2ZeQroj
    Or to get the a Junsun mirror like in this video click here: ebay.to/3eoHMUq
    This is a quick review of the Junsun 910 full screen rearview mirror with front and rear dash cam.
    This is fitted to a Renault Megane MK3 RS. Its main purpose was to improve rear visibility, which it does brilliant. The fact it is a dash cam as will is a nice bonus.

    I always buy a cigerette lighter socket around $2 ebay and plug in the male portion from the device into external cigarette socket. Run wires from back of socket to hardwire. Tuck everything away. Retains use of male cigerette style plug and cheaper than a hardwire kit. Zip tie the socket and plug together for secure connection. Also make oem cigarette plug that comes with whatever item you purchased (in this case the mirror) usually has a fuse built in to the tip so no need to add a fuse. :)

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is definitely 1 of the best ways to hardwire them in, thanks for sharing!

    • @itinkle
      @itinkle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      why not just hard wire straight to the fuse box and skip the cigarette lighter?

    • @ibmtpx24
      @ibmtpx24 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@itinkle then you need a step-down transformer to convert 12v dc (from the fuse box) to 5v DC for USB power input to dvr, essentially what the cigar lighter adapter does.

      @ZeroTo60Tube  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are if you enable the reverse mode, which is done by connecting the mirror to your reverse lights. However I don’t find the lines very helpful, as they are not matched to the dimensions of the car. Personally I just move the view to as low as possible and it makes judging how far you are from other cars, walls or kerbs really easy with out the need for the lines.

      Yeah you can manually start and stop the recording if you wanted to. and yes you can adjust the front camera by simply tilting your mirror. • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi, Yes, they have a button on the bottom which instantly puts the screen to sleep and then the mirror just looks like a normal mirror. If you want to switch the screen back on you just press that button again. All of the electronics stay on, its just the screen that sleeps, so its an instant turn on or off.

  • @MA-yq3nd
    @MA-yq3nd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does it record the rear to, or is it only for reverse parking. Next question is when you pu it in to reverse does any lights on the actual rear camera as other brands have 4 lights in each corner . My last Question is it geos in to reverse mode manually not when in reverse gear like other camera where you have to earth the reverse wire and connect other one with reverse car wire.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Dash cam does record both front and rear. I don't use the reverse camera as i don't like the way it automatically points down when you put it in reverse, not to mention the lines are useless on most cars. Those preset lines only work if the camera is specifically designed for the vehicle. All these universal ones, it's more of a gimmick. That said you can connect it to your reverse lights to automatically enable the reverse function. No there are no lights on the camera. However most cars have reverse lights, so it shouldn't be an issue.

  • @sangleaders

    • @ZeroTo60Tube

      It does yes. However I tend to leave it in the normal rear view mode. The reverse cam points down at the ground. Which is overkill in my opinion.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube

      I dont think it can. Although i'm not 100% sure. They use a mini headphone jack connector for the rear camera. I bought the Junsun A930 dual mirror cam with the ADAS lane guidance and GPS, but don't try loading much software due to limited memory. I hard wired it to a cabin fuse and chose to place the rear cam inside just above my fairly small Stinger hatchback rear window, to give me greater rear visibility, but hot summer temps quickly overload the rear camera, and will shut it down to showing only a useless green screen...while the front cam seems much sturdier in the extreme heat...FYI...but such a great concept..

    Nice vid. I'd love to see what the reverse function is like. It changes the angle when put into reverse yeah? I've had other reverse cams before that had terrible viewing angles that actually made reversing more hazardous, due to the shallow angle giving a false sense of where the sides of the car were.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right and I don’t use the reverse function for that reason. Most times I will point the camera down as low as possible, but for some reversing I will need it up higher. It’s so quick to change angle with touch screen I just do it manually if needed. I don’t see a need for a auto reverse function as such. Also the lines are pretty much useless.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube I bought it and tried the install. The rear view cable was 7 feet too short for my Nissan Xterra. After buying an extension cable I used it in traffic here in the US and I would see the rear video whilst driving but the glare from the screen itself made it impossible to see unless I pointed the mirror towards the head liner. I returned it. A small vehicle like yours is perhaps a better fit than an SUV.

  • @maxitaly
    @maxitaly ปีที่แล้ว

    Weird. That-s strange that everybody here like this digital mirror while it's clear that at night if you have a car back of you you do not see anything but the only large and extra bright glare from the headlights of that car. That should be just annoying if not terrible when you have literally a very intensive torch just in front of your eyes flashing you while driving at night on a highway. The only digital mirror can be used is the one with a dimming function that detects headlights back of you and works properly.

  • @DavePianist
    @DavePianist 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love everything until you showed the rearview during night time. When you drive straight all the car's light behind appear very flashy and cover nearly the entire screen......

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a problem with where I mounted the camera on this car. As it’s so low on the bumper it’s in the headlight beams unfortunately. I thought about mounting it up up the spoiler which would fix most of that glare, but have ended up leaving it. It didn’t bother me once I got used to it. It’s only a problem when the cars are close behind like at lights. Normal driving distance seems to be sweet.

    you made a review of a dashcam and didn't put a sample of the record??????? wtf

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, dash cams have had pretty good video quality for years now. I have probably watched 50 different sample footage clips over the years and they are much of a muchness. I didn't want to just pad this video out with footage people don't need to see. I would have highlighted it, if the footage was bad, but its not, its like any dash cam thats come out in the last 3-4 years. In this review i tried to focus on the features it has that are new, like its use a rear view mirror.

      I think they use wires purely for a reliability standpoint, the wireless back up camera. Which still need wiring up for power do play up every and again with connection issues. That said maybe there are wireless version out there. I personally would rather spend the 20 mins running the wires so never looked for a wireless version of this. What sort of car do you have? Would you like some help working out how to run the wires?

      It works as a dash cam. You know, for recording accidents and things to help clarify who is at fault for insurance purposes. I don’t think anyone uses it as a view finder 😂, but then again I’ve seen people do some strange things. Most people just switch straight to the rear view. That said it’s handy to help position and frame the front DVr function.
