Pioneer Stereo Memory Full Issue. Connect to Your Parking Brake

  • So after you have paired some phones to your Pioneer deck you may received a message saying memory full. If you go into the bluetooth settings you will find a memory clear item but if you are like us it is grayed out and you can not select it. The issue is the car has a green wire that it supposed to be connected to the parking brake to tell the car you are not moving. So there are two ways to fix this issue. Connect the green wire up to the bypass (tons on Amazon and eBay for around $13) or connect it to your parking brake.
    If you want bypass - Amazon affiliate link
    amzn.to/3BaWSs3
    In this video we connect it to the parking brake on a 2007 Mustang. There are tons of videos showing how to use the bypass but I did not see any connecting directly to the parking brake.
    I hope this helps you save some time !
    BTW - Once you complete the job give the Pioneer time to auto connect to the phone and let you know it can't. Then go into settings and clear the memory.

    Thanks for your simple explanation. Firstly I visualised the parking brake as a totally mechanical device so couldn't fathom why you would wire into it (I guess others might see the on/off toggle as blindingly obvious). Then you get a million and one people who want show how to do the bypass - obviously those who want to wire it correctly are in a minority!!!

    I had no idea my stereo was tied into my parking brake. I got a new iPhone and when trying to connect it, the stereo kept saying “memory full” but all of the settings were grayed out. Yeah, it's so much better to settle for a cheaply manufactured deck with trash sound, shit user interface, limited l features, no DAC (so no sound files over 320BPS) that pushes WEAK ASS volume me no audio, blows out nothing but excessive low end and registers zero mids and will fail in less than a year than to buy one of the best decks currently being manufactured for its price and actually gaveling to do "work".
      I mean ick. What a waste of time when it doesn't matter at all what sound quality you're experiencing.

    So, the green wire gets hooked right into the red and yellow wire? Does this mean that I cannot play DVDs or access menus on the stereo unless the parking brake is engaged? Obviously, that’s not gonna work for me. So, if I just hook the green wire up to a ground, Will it bypass this and still work normally?

    • @MojaveKY

    • @carflixnchill4339
      @carflixnchill4339 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkRamos It’s not that easy anymore with some radios. As far as I know, (this stuff changes so fast today) some brands like JVC and Clarion the old ground out the e-brake trick is still gold, then you have like the Pioneers and I think Kenwood finally started implementing this, but they need to see an “on - off - on” to the e-brake wire so some sort of relay bypass, and then you have Alpine which is slightly more complex than that even. I wish it was like it used to be! So much simpler!
