This method may work on this Sony stereo but not on pioneer stereos it requires you to apply ground in a sequence - "on off on off on" .... I use a toggle switch, single pole single throw and it works just fine ...

Worked great for me and now I can use the HDMI input on my Sony unit to play on my Xbox or play movies from my FireTV Stick. I drive a 2010 Mercedes Benz G-Class and I would have to disassemble the entire dashboard to get to the plug of the foot activated handbrake since the switch itself is covered in black gunk and you can't remove that stupid connector unless you go very deep into the dashboard and find the plastic connector.

thanks, I just had this problem but I IAM Going put a mini key SWITCH and hide IT were canT be seen and use IT TO CONNECT AND DISCONNECT THE HEAD UNIT BRAKE WIRE BY CONNECTING the hEAD UNIT BRAKE WIRE TO MINI KEYED SWITCH THEN USE THE OTHER TERMINAL OF THE MININ SWITCH TO THE CAR BODY OF THE CAR SO YOU TURN ON OFF THE VIDEO SCREEN

I'm wanting to install a parking brake bypass on a stock ford stereo. However, when I located the green, black and blue wires I found there was either conduction shield or what I think may be called bare wire running alongside these three wires. Hello mate, it comes from the stereo, there will be a bug of wires and one of them is the break wire, it may not be labelled on yours or your stereo may not have it at all, you need to look up the manual of your stereo. I hope this helps.

Hello mate the green cable comes with the stereo I didn't add it. If your stereo doesn't come with one you probably need to Google it look in your stereo manual. Good luck.

Mine I'll work like that but once I turn off my car and start it back it won't show video until I unhook the brake wire and ground it again. But once car is off it's the same thing

Hello mate locate a screw you can losen on the chassis of the stereo and tuck the wire under it then tighten the screw back.
You use O connector and crimp it.
