It's hard to believe it's been a year already and you two have created so many memories traveling with Florrie! There's definitely a huge learning curve owning one - I probably would only ever rent one for a short time and even then it seems like there's so much to know. Great into especially about the Bailey Whistle and something to get taken care of right away. It is surprising that they don't proactively fix it before their units are sold. I enjoyed hearing about your experiences but am glad you are enjoying traveling with Florrie still.
It’s been brilliant Donna. We did so much research before we bought the van but it wasn’t enough. A steep learning curve from day one 😃. But in the end all you need is water and maybe a bit of heat in Winter and you’re fine. All the bells and whistles are fine - but in the end as long as you have the basics we’ve just loved everything about travelling. Off to a local site for maintenance this weekend and then Scotland and the Lake District in a couple of weeks. Then down to Spain in January!!
Hi Guys. Brilliant video as usual! Very honest appraisal of the 75-4T. Ours is 6 months old now - and have experienced similar to you - and coincidentally seem to have found the same solutions! I've just fitted some wall to wall carpets in the main live area of Ruby (our Adamo) which we bought for £25 as an offcut from a local carpet warehouse! The fitting was easy using the Adamo mats as a rough template and a sharp Stanley knife and tape measure! Ruby is now much much cosier and quieter and feels like a luxury MH! We had excess new carpet made into edged mats for the steps etc. Recommend it!
Ah that sounds great Robin. We had contacted a fitter but he seems to have disappeared 🤷🏻♂️😃, so I’m going to get it done like you have. How are the bits on the step standing up? Sue wants them but I’ve said they will just get dirty. (As I’m hopeless at remembering to take boots off!)
Even though there is a 0% chance of us ever buying a camper van, I still wanted to watch this video just to see how you guys felt about it after a year. It was interesting hearing about all the pros and cons and how you have modified the van to make it work for you. I'm so glad that you are happy with your purchase and are happy to have adopted the #vanlife lifestyle! I need to catch up on some of your videos from the last few months. We spent two months on the European continent around the same time that you guys were driving around . All the best to you, Dave and Sue! XX
Oh gosh Dara, we’ve loved this lifestyle much more than we could have ever imagined! It’s been wonderful. But then our European trip took it to another level - so much more choice in terms of sites and places to stay. And everyone was so friendly and helpful. We met so many fascinating people which we wouldn’t have done in hotels - I think it’s that because you’re living constantly one night in close proximity to another camper, there’s a sort of shared experience. It’s pretty weird - obviously some people don’t want to speak but most we met were just so friendly - especially in Germany! Loved Bavaria, and the Black Forest is really special. Sorry for waffling but we had such a brilliant time! 😃
Great video Dave and Sue and good to see you are still enjoying your Adamo. It's refreshing to see the positivity you inject into your video's and something I have personally been guilty of is sometimes feeling a little negative around the niggles and problems we have experienced and in some instances the questionable build quality from Bailey. We love our 60-4 as the layout really suits us as a retired couple and the drop down bed was the deal clincher for us when we came to buy, and it's easy sometimes to let the negatives take over and make you question your purchase choice? As you have done, we've also made some improvements to our Adamo and continue to learn and adapt each time we use it, so please keep sharing your thoughts and idea's as they are really inciteful and useful. Take care😁
Hiya Stephen Yes we try to be very honest but positive as we have loved being out in the Adamo. The one thing that really gets to me is the “whistle” in the skylight and the potential for danger on the road. Why oh why Bailey haven’t resolved it on newer models is absolutely beyond me!! 🤷🏻♂️. But overall we have loved being out in the van. So many memorable experiences and people met. And so it’s been a huge life change for us and we would t change a thing. Well apart from paying for someone else’s electricity in Germany perhaps 😃 We’re back out in the van next week so will film the table leg and upload that on a future vid. I’m a bit behind in uploads at the moment but will catch up soon. Thanks again for that mate and have a good rest of the week 👍👍👍
Great video! It’s common to see a review straight after getting something, but I think it’s really good to have a review after a year - at this point you’ve been able to use all the features and find out what you like or find annoying! This is very detailed, thanks for sharing
Yes that’s what we thought too. Doing a review after one or two days without properly testing something isn’t great. Plus it’s ours and we haven’t been given it like some promotions 👍👍 So we just were as honest as possible and hopefully it will help others make a decision. Thanks for your kind words as always 👍🙏👍
Cheers - It has been a year and you for sure have had plenty of experiences in that year. So your review is based on a lot of experience, failures and successes! And at the end of the day you really love Florrie and all she has given to you this year. So for any budding owners there are things to learn here as well as advice on where to find more information (the great group on FB and so on). And imagine what the two year review will be like! You have only started this kind of lifestyle and the best is yet to be! One thing I noticed is that you did not talk much about how the kitchen, shower and washroom works for you when you do not have facilities available. For some people the off-grid experience matters and for those people the kitchen is often a key point! You might think about making a kitchen special one day? So even though I do not use a motorhome it is fun to watch your movies and your natural enthusiasm and cheer! So I hope you find youtubing rewarding and fun as well. As for the kind of mobile homes I am purchasing I got my latest kit today - a bivy bag:-) Have a great weekend and take good care of Florrie! All the best, Ant
Oh wow Ant. Hope you don’t have to use that Bivvy Bag much during an Arctic Winter!! ❄️ Good point on the facilities We didn’t cover that as most Motorhomes have very similar kitchens and washrooms. But a good point to cover for new Motorhome users. 👍👍. The Kitchen is great on the Adamo. Gas and Electric hob and hot and cold water on tap. The Shower and washroom too. The Fridge is three way so can work on electric, gas or the 12v battery It’s a very versatile machine. If I was doing it all again, I think I would still have this Motorhome - the only disadvantage is the size - but that’s why it has so many home comforts!! We did want the van conversion but we’re very happy with Florrie Have a good rest of the week in the North my good friend 👍👍👍
Great Video John & Sue. We have made some notes on recommended questions. We are picking up a new 2025 model, so we will update you on all improvements.Chris & Rachael.
Thanks guys You will love the Adamo and its quirks! Hopefully, this vid will help when things go wrong. Normally very minor but it’s always good to be aware We’re still learning on every trip although we think that we have most of it now!!
Good to see a vlog after a year , Ford is the most popular van on the road , so should say something, everyday is a school day I guess , that ehu socket on the van is in a daft place , keep up the good work
Cheers David. We just tried to be honest as there have been a few annoying things especially that skylight! Why oh why Bailey haven’t sorted it by now is beyond me! 🤷🏻♂️ But overall a great first van and we have loved every second out there! Have a great rest of the week mate 👍
Great adventures you’ve had mate. I love the fact you’ve spent 4 months in the. And why not make the best use of it!! I’d do exactly the same! Funny though it seems like you’ve always had it 👍❤️
Hard to believe that it has been a year already! Surprised the water tank doesn't have an overfill valve that drains on the ground...there certainly is plenty of storage in the van...great to have a FB group to help address potential issues. More great adventures to come!!
Thanks Bruce. Yes the FB group is invaluable! All learning from each other! The water tank is poorly designed but it is within the body of the van to avoid freezing. So that comes with disadvantages as well….🤦🏻♂️
Have you considered using a trickle charger, instead of going and starting the van up every week? Because we leave our car in Texas for five months straight, we learned the hard way that it's well worth it. We also use a trickle charger on our vehicle that we leave in England for seven months at a time!
That’s a great shout Dara. We’re going to look into that We’re hoping to never leave the van in storage for more than two weeks as we just love being out - even in Winter! We have a short trip planned next week, then two weeks in November, a week in December and then all of January! But these last three weeks we haven’t visited so we’re a bit worried about the battery. The solar panel has kept it topped up but as the colder weather hits that will change. So a trickle charger seems a good idea 👍👍
Thanks cor your kind words Richard. The whistle really angers me!! I’m thinking of writing to Bailey about it. Ours is fixed but why should others have to have the same problem especially as it could be potentially dangerous!! This should have been rectified on new models by now. Anyway, hope you have as much fun as we have. It’s been a brilliant van for us!!
@@NBNatureTrailvan Yeah a friend from RAF days did not believe me until I showed him how to get into his Transit. As you are using other security though not to much to worry about.
@@DesmondsDonders yep hopefully what we have will at least slow them down a bit!! The non Ford immobiliser seems good - just don’t want to upload the Ford remote app in case it beggars everything else we have 😃
114 nights?! Wow! 😮
You have well and truly given it a test!
We really have. 😃. We’ve had a blast! We’re trying to get at least four months out in the van per year. Hopefully more!
Comprehensive review very useful nicely presented.
Thank you. We always try to be as honest as possible but we do love this van!!

After a year 100+ trips is a reliable test I would say. You have had minor issues after all that use. Have a great week Dave and Sue
