I'm climbing up on top of a table and adding in a clear tone of voice to the room at large, "side effects". That's a big reason. It's separate enough from distrusting big pharma to be listed separately. Also the dearth of psychiatrists who listen and therapists who are truly good at what they do.
Meanwhile good on you for asking for help and for discovering a more fine tuned diagnosis and for listening to yourself. Well done! I hope you feel better very soon.

I know someone who I thought was cool. We were kind of acquaintance friends. Then I mentioned I'd gotten my anxiety meds upped. Because my anxiety had started getting worse again (I was having panic attacks and disasociating miltiple times a week before the meds. Because of health concerns). I also end up with a wheat intolerant ehen my anxiety gets bad (something to do with serotonin receptors in thr gut). Ans the only way it goes away is with meds. Its one of the ways I know my brain is truly struggling and needs help
And I'd spoken to him already about my concerns, before starting the meds. Literally paragraphs of how worried I was.
And he was like, oh yeah I dont belive in taking meds.
Honestly all I could do was sit there and stare at my screen. He even joked once. After telling him I had to up my meds. That "you need to controll yoself". And I get that he was joking. But as someone with AuDhd.. I just felt... Misunderstood and mocked?
He also said "I still am against meds… but ya gotta remember you’re modifying the levels in your system. So changing them will always have either no, little, or a lot of effect." Because I was having so much anxiety that even the higher dose wasn't as efcective as it should have been.
I get, if you're anti medication (no, I don't get it. But to each their own I guess) but like.. why do we have to be either spreading misinformation about things we dont know. Or joking sbout things that arent funny at all

#4 sensitivities or allergies to ingredients in the meds (causing bad events)
#5 misprespcribing meds to those who are different, not diagnosed
