It's TvC, baby! It makes me sad that this game is probably never going to get a re-release thanks to the licensing nightmare involved with all the Tatsunoko properties. It still pisses me off that a bunch of people pleaded to get the game localized, and then nobody bought it. A Capcom vs. Shonen Jump would print money because people will buy anything if they slap Goku on the cover, but given that Bamco has the videogame rights to Naruto, One Piece, Kimetsu no Yaiba, etc., that's whole other layer of licensing headaches.
It actually surpassed Capcom's expectations in sales. People bought it. It's just that the wii was a very limited console in reach. Great for casual gaming. Not for competitive fighting games.
@melvinshine9841 Exactly, a lot of people that want this game to be re-released (me included) never take into account the licensing nightmare it had when it was released back in the day. I'm sure it's possible but does Capcom really want to deal with that again? In Japan maybe it'll be easier but keep in mind that all the Tatsunoko characters have different right holders for every country.
I'd settle for an official Darkstalkers and Rosario+Vampire crossover. Capcom sponsored the latter's anime, they published the DS game, and I'm pretty sure Bandai Namco haven't done anything with R+V.
If you thought that would be a Nightmare a Nitro+ Vs. Capcom game would be worse because rights for specific characters and shit it may sound cool at first but a Crossover with Nitro+ would be hella impossible at that idk why but thinking about it would be a licensing Nightmare and I feel like A few series would fit but how would the story work did Mugen Yoguruma deal with someone evil in the Capcom Universe or did M.Bison found the Nitro+ universe and invade the Blassreiter Universe and try to use the amalgams in the Blassreiter universe and turn them into soldiers its actually something I question myself if they ever Crossover probably never gonna happen tho I doubt Nitro+ is willing to make a Crossover with Capcom like rn they back milking Stein;Gates again
Probably unlikely but I hope this is a Maximilian level sign. TvC is the ONE classic fighting game that hasn't had a proper rerelease. If Capcom were to manage getting a rerelease in a Capcom Fighting Collection 3, it'd be the hypest shit imaginable.
The biggest hurdle is the _myriad_ of licensing rights for the animes on the Tatsunoko side Capcom has to go through. So unlikely is a bit of an understatement.
@phantommah8042 MVC is hard because of Disney... Tatsunoko is hard because it's not just Tatsunoko... Most of these characters are jointly owned by multiple companies leading to it being Capcom trying to work with a LOT of rights holders in a bunch of different countries, and even then some rights holders might just straight up say no, potentially meaning that the game would need to remove entire characters from the roster to be rereleased.
Man, I love TvC and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about it, but I've never seen some of these interactions and glitches before! Awesome stuff.
It makes more sense to mention MvC, because there was no new game after MvC2 from 00. The fgc kept milking it just because of lack of new options... but don't let that distort the vision of reality. MvC died, and Evo became a retro tournament regarding Capcom games, that used to come out yearly over the 90s. Meanwhile DBZ never had a tradition of fgs that are worth paying attention to... most are pretty rough.
It's such shame a lot of people still don't know about this gem. It's thanks to this game I got into Wii modding just so I could play the JP version. Then I ended up buying the US version.
There is a large population that started fgs thanks to SF4 or any games after it, and many people apparently won't check older games. Everything that came later is still part of the SF4 movement to revitalize the genre, and that shaped a whole culture that started paying less attention to older games compared to the older generation of players... exactly because the fg industry was revitalized and then filled the market with new stuff. And most importantly, TvC was killed by MvC3. I even remember having that idea in the early period of MvC3 trailers and news: "Now TvC is going to be totally overshadowed".
God why are you like *the only* fucking FGC related content creator that makes vids like this? Why is everyone else so uppity about clout or patches or anything of that stuff? You are literally upholding a lost art and it's *crazy* that with all the information and access to media that we have that we don't have more of this kind of thing. Mind boggling honestly, god bless you for keeping the torch alive.
It looks like the fg genre as a whole is falling down in creativity and versatility, and so is the fgc content creation scene. The large majority are desperate for clout and the ideas are repetitive. Desk is among the extreme minority that has these kind of ideas, like TvC in late 2024.
Damn this game is fun to look at. The clash mechanic needs to be brought to the forefront with the next vs game, crazy interactions like this is what games em fun.
That feature made the game look more advanced than all older games, putting the newer technology (Wii is superior to the old arcade systems anyway) to good use, and should have been the example to later games. But it didn't happen sadly.
honestly at this point who knows, VS games have their own level of pull and hype so maybe that'd simplify the rights negotiations. Still, worst case scenario Dolphin is free and it's not that hard to find the Wii game for download if you know where to look.

The game with the best looking Morrigan. I love how when she does her Darkness Illusion technique, you can see Lilith helping her 😊 I really want to see Lilith in new VS Capcom crossover game! I would replace Morrigan with Lilith! Jedah's daughter deserves more love! 😢
Thanks for remembering TvC, i appreciate the channel's style of not sticking strictly to fgc news. TvC in late 2024... wow. That makes the channel look more special for standing out in the middle of a content creation scene that seems to be falling in creativity lately overall. Also, respect for putting your viewership at risk and bring much smaller games than SF, MvC and CvS, that are the biggest interests of your regular audience.

all of those glitches are extremely prominent and well documented within the tvc community, I have several others documented in my channel, including how to remove textures within the game itself by breaking sequences in the game, the light orbs that appear on the characters hands, is caused by doing a super and the pushblock of an advance guard cancelling your super animation in the air, brian was the first to do it with chunli, and the orb can stack on itself, until you become a ball of light, the condor glitch is caused by inputing the super during the same frame that the second shuriken super hits the opponent, thus triggering the animation to play out, and putting joe the condor in his falling animation, if the opponent hits him, he unfreezes, at that point, if you tag out your point character into joe the condor for condor, the game doesn't know what to do, because condor is already out, so it tags condor out and loads condor without a body, you still can grabbing specials, and anything that loads like a projectile, but your normals don't connect since they are part of condor's body, that leads into another set of glitches that I documented years ago, about taking textures out and stuff. Desk video was nothing impressive, let alone good in my opinion, but it is entertaining for the people that is unfamiliar with the game.
TvC must be the most doomed crossover in Capcom in terms of chances of returning, because the licensing deals are more troublesome and it's a small game from the 00s that never went far and never had a sequel. And though i'm not questioning its quality, there's even the chance that its sales had an extra boost just because people were starving for new Capcom fgs. Then it got insta killed by MvC3 sadly, but expectedly. Also Capcom became much less open to risky investments since that time in the 00s... and they can't be blamed to some degree because games became more expensive and Capcom has high production standards. Modern games need big marketing campaigns, heavy content creation, official tournaments, dlc, etc... all that to last the longest and have the returns that Capcom wants.
Please redo all of your decapre ultra trade combos they're kinda mid to the ones i found. Like the hakan stun combo and 6 abel step kicks combo I found for example
Even if people bought TvC, which nobody did after all the pleading to get it localized, that is not happening. I'd love to see it, but it would be a way bigger licensing headache than Marvel vs. Capcom or Capcom vs. SNK.
The modern Capcom is a different company from the old Capcom unfortunately. The way they work on the fg genre convinces me that they don't support "their fgs"... they just stick to their influential and successful fgs, like is SF, that will always be good safe business. Because everything else is buried since long ago and they don't even show "fake interest" on them, unlike their statement (fake interest) of caring about Megaman months ago. So that means there's probably no bright future for other fgs in Capcom... except some huge dream projects like CvS.
Secondly, and this is a very unfortunate situation: the own fact SF is so sucessful means a threat for other Capcom games that are smaller and have no chance of matching that performance in sales and cultural impact. Capcom will be less willing to invest in other fgs that will stay too much behind SF, since game making costs only get higher and modern games need dlc and a long life span to make a decent return for these big companies. (MK is an exception because of those crazy sales numbers) Capcom is the company of RE, DMC and MH, like it or not... and they became less tolerant about small games than by the time of TvC in the late 00s. Like, if SF didn't make the huge return it started making since SF4, with each sequel growing the sales numbers, i believe it would probably be buried once again, since even SF numbers are inferior to MH and RE numbers. So what are the chances that this company would care about TvC? Or any other small fg?
@@melvinshine9841 TvC must be the most doomed crossover in Capcom because the licensing deals are more troublesome and it's a small game from the 00s that never went very far and never had a sequel. Unpopular opinion. Tatsunoko vs Capcom is the best looking fighting game using 3D models. I am tired of how as technology improves fighting games using 3D models want their characters to look more and more realistic TvC somehow managed to keep the anime style Many years later and the game still looks great Unlike realistic style, anime style is timeless
It was the one of the best looking Wii games for its time, and knowing the game shares the same developer as MvC 3 it comes to no surprise MvC 3 borrows heavily from TvC.
I want Capcom to take the hint from DBFZ, HxH, 2XKO, etc, and bring back MvC's system and just replace Marvel for something else. Ideally one or many anime franchises, because anime pretty much occupied the place owned by classic Marvel cartoons and comics, while Marvel's public face has been reduced to movies. Anime would make more sense to attract the big public (again, taking the hint from DBFZ). But another idea i have for a long time now is a Capcom crossover... like Capcom's own KOF or SSB. Running on the same MvC gameplay and the same gimmicks, and the roster would have a large range like MvC3, picking types like Frank West, and either Leon, Chris or Jill, etc. An all Capcom crossover with a large roster would finally give room to bring back Captain Commando, and put types that never had a chance in MvC like from Red Earth, Rival Schools, Power Stone, Onimusha, Breath of Fire, etc.
I always like that people pay attention to tvc, but I also dislike the low quality content that gets release, I think this video is fun on its own right, and the clashes are not exactly anything impressive, but its funny for the general viewer who would not be familiar with how tvc works, the inclusion of the most prominent glitches was a good touch, but as for combos, if we want to be realistic, it was mediocre, for a week I would say the batsu sequence is decent, it isn't hard, but not something impressive, when it comes to street fighter I would say desk have good content, everything else, is just good editing and goofy stuff, which mind you, I know its fine for new viewers and people who are unfamiliar with the game, but for standards of someone that has played, and made content for tvc for years, this is just mediocre, I don't say that as an insult, I say it as it from my perspective, is valid to think otherwise, but I stand on my statement.
TvC is the fighting game concept of "Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened."
God, I'm so happy to see some TVC love on this channel!
Joe the Condor is one of the coolest fighting game characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing as. He STYLES harder than anybody

I was so disappointed this wasn't included in the MVC compilation.
Why would a game featuring no Marvel characters be in a a Marvel vs. Capcom collection?
