    David, great video! I was going to have the dealership do the 100k maintenance on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, but they quoted us $1,200 so I decided to do it myself. I thought the spark plugs were going to be the hardest part, but it wasn’t that bad thanks to your videos. Thanks again David!

      Thanks for watching, When it comes to spark plugs on vehicles these days.....its seems to be the norm to have to remove the intake especially on those with plugs due every 100k miles....thats mainly why the interval is so high so to what you have to do to access them. Appreciate it!

    How much dose this usually coast in labor? I went from a 97 yukon with 5.3 to a chrysler 200 3.6 when I look under hood it may as well b Chinese. I bought the plugs but I'm gonna need to put it in a shop to have them put in. Was wondering how long this job takes and how much labor cost are?

    So I'm pretty sure it the oil cooler that the problem. My coolant has oil in it . I was also having heater problems. Wasn't blowing hot in the passage side. 2012 Chrysler 200 3.6 . So my question is can I just flush the coolant system or do I need to replace the radiator, water pump, heater core???

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely your heater core is plugged and not allowing the passenger side to heat up. There is a common issue on those vehicles which I fill is related to the antifreeze. I am not sure if its breaking down over time or what but it leaves a built up in the overflow bottle and affects other components as well. If the heater core is clogged....its just a matter of time before the radiator. The radiator most likely is partially clogged already but just not enough to notice or cause it to overheat. At this time I would have the coolant system flushed and have the heater core replaced. Then I would monitor it over time to see if the radiator is needed. But for now....just the two items I mentioned. Thats just my opinion.

    any chance you'd be able to tell me what order the cylinders are in? I have a 2012 chysler 200 v6 and it's giving off a code saying cylinder 5 misfire and it's the ignition coil. so I changed out what I thought was cylinder 5s coil and spark plug and it's still stuttering and shaking. maybe it was the wrong cylinder? If you're looking at the front of the car it was the right rear one that I changed.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Donald Mcgrath morning. 1-3-5 are on the firewall side and 5 is closest to the trans. Sounds like that's the one you replaced. If still having issues then you could have a cam, lifter, roller rocker issue, or cam phaser issue

    I've been looking for a tutorial to change these plugs on the same 3.6L engine, only it's in a 2012 200S. I know they change the upper intake manifold based on the vehicle so it fits under the hood, so... Is the dress on the top of this engine for a 200 exactly the same as the Avenger? And are there special tricks/tips for a 200S, or is what you've shown basically the same? Thanks, and great video brother!

    • @MotorCityMechanic

      +bilt4speed66 Evening, I haven't filmed a 200 as of yet. I looked the service info over and the images appear to be the same. I think the video should be you with doing the 200. Thanks for the question and for watching. Don't forget to subscribe

      That would be hi-larious, but I'm just as confused as I'm flattered that you think i could even do this, doubt I'd serve your channel justice. But it sounds like fun! I think I'll go for it! Oh, and yes I subscribed after my first post.. Anyhow, I'm a Chrysler engineer that works at the U.S. plant that makes this motor (sad to say I've learned since that the 3.6L dress for the 200S comes from Saltillo Mexico) but its a whole different story from what I know to how to do this motor before it gets shoe-horned into into our products. Gonna study your vid some more... I'll holla back!

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Oh your that guy that the dealer mechanics want to get theirs hands on sometimes lol. Just kidding. I bet you get to see some cool stuff from your end. I was helping another person the other day that sets up the automation at the 3.6 plant. Small world I guess. I watched a video on the plant and the engine assembling and was amazed how much was automated. If you can design it.....you can work on it for sure so have no fears. It would be awesome to have a chance to tour a factory like that and learn more about what makes these cars happen and how they make it from paper to pavement.

      So you said its running rough still? So it was running rough before the repairs? One thing that I would check is based on the symptoms your having with the brakes....double check the vacuum hose from the brake booster to the intake. Sounds like your power brakes are working and they are vacuum controlled.

      +SuperWatson63 Its nothing too difficult. Its just nuts and bolts and with the experience that you said you have....you should do fine. On your vehicle its due at 100,000 miles. So you still got awhile before its needed. I'm sure that by then I should have a video on that repair.
