As a donating watcher, I just enjoy learning about cars. I'm not a mechanic just fascinated by the people who can do it. Cars were a mystery to me, well the inner most workings of them. It's a learning channel which I find very entertaining and informative. Keep u p the honest work and know your appreciated for your skills and knowledge.
You should wrap your power tools in a blanket when you use them to keep the noise down. Lol. Just joking. Great job Eric. Favorite TH-cam channel ever.
I did a wheel bearing on a 2011 prius yesterday. Wouldnt you know it, I was able to get the bolts out with my 3/8 electric ratchet, and the bearing came right off with a slight pry of my pocket screwdriver. God bless Texas. That is a true story, but holy hell mucho respect for you and all the guys who deal with rust. Thats a whole different ball game.
I have a Avenger SXT , that was a barn find here in Australia, 08 with 193000 klms every thing still clean and markings from factory and I have to replace the bearings from sitting for 5 years , I just wanted to say how much I am grateful on showing me how.
Anyone that would call you a hack is clearly the hack themselves. Im in Virginia and I still understand the rust problem you deal with. Heck look at more SMA videos, that is some serious rust dude. Keep rocking Eric O!!
So for the complainers why do they even watch the channel if they dnt like it but that just goes to show how much time some ppl have if they like to watch something they dnt like..keep the videos rolling no complaints here!
I left a picture of my wife’s rusty crusty Subaru on your facebook page the other day. Connecticut uses the same crap to treat the roads in the winter. I feel your pain Eric.
I did front wheel bearings on my 20 year old Ram truck 3 or 4 years ago. I beat them for about 3 hours. My teeth hurt. I bought an air hammer and have done other vehicles the SMA way ever since. My teeth don't hurt anymore. Non-rust people don't know how good they have it! Thanks, Eric.
Thanks for a great look and tutorial.....plus the humor...I'm a southerner I didnt think your were rough on it....most people beat it like it owes them money....great job tho....sure helps me get it done with confidence...thanks
Well you won't hear me say anything about using an air chisel b/c I'm a born & raised NY mechanic and had the joy of working in rust belt of Fulton & Montgomery counties. Use whatever it takes to get the job done is my moto! Nice easy hub w/brg definitely easier than replacing just the brg. Great video!
Cricket season in Michigan starts Aug 15th and runs till Sept 15th. No tag, no limit and catch and release is allowed. Also I was once told by someone they could run faster than me if they were mad than I could scared. My reply was 'I don't think so because you'd be slipping and sliding on the crap coming outta my pant legs'.
Hearing aids are no fun. After operating noisy tractor-trailer rigs, an abrasive waterjet machine, noisy air tools (impacts, grinders, wrenches) my hearing is bad. Glad to see Eric using earplugs and safety glasses. Interesting to see, had no idea those bearings included the studded hub. Ya learn something every day. Thanks, Eric.
You are kidding right? Instead of buying a regular bearing for $20, you now must buy a whole hub assembly. They are never cheaper. They are easier to install however, as you no longer need to remove the steering knuckle.
Might of found my Ign problem, While looking at connectors, I happen to un plug the connector going into the Alt and found, you guessed it Corrosion, sprayed it with electrical cleaner. Dont know what those 3 wires go to, but if they have anything to do with the Ign, I might just have found my problem . Will take it out for a shake and a shimmy in the morning. Hope, Hope Took it out this morning........not the problem, but Iam glad I found that corrosion. Back to the drawing board.
I hear ya about the was southerners talk about rust, but I do have to agree with you. I used to live in Michigan and have to deal with all the rust crap. Now that I’m living in Louisiana it’s totally different lol
Well I'm a southerner but you won't get any hate from me. Seeing how lots of you NewYorkers either move down here or snowbird for the winter, we do get some rusty stuff to work on. And yes, in my youth it was a comedic and humbling experience working on them.
I do watch scotty for tips or what not. but I like yours better because your hands on. I've been watching for maybe 2 1/2 weeks I stumbled on your channel now that's all I watch. Your the beans lol Fan from southern ohio
For what it's worth Dr. O, I'm down in Texas and I fully appreciate that the rust struggle is real. We don't have to deal with it nearly the way y'all do, but I've seen enough cars from the coast and the rust belt to tip my proverbial hat to you. Nothing hacky about using the air whammy to remove a stuck hub. I had a Subie awhile back I thought I was going to split the knuckle trying to get that sucker out. Usually the cats talking trash haven't the faintest idea what doing this for a living entails. Keep fightin' the good fight amigo, can't let the bastards get you down.
I live in Upstate NY too and one of the first tools I get when I am working on my truck is a deadblow hammer. Of course I own an 02 Tundra. Much more rust comes off the frame, there will be no truck left
More great tool tips! And of course, the great commentary! The first time I saw "torque to factory specs" using an air impact, I shuddered watching it! Now it's like. ......whatever. I used torque sticks at work. They were great! They're like me, they're old now. Keep up the good work...and commentary.
Heh...back in the day, lightweight wheels were made from magnesium (which is why they used to be called "mag wheels" or just "mags.") But people eventually worked out that if you drive on a flat for a while and the rim kicks up enough sparks, they catch fire - and they're _really_ hard to put out safely (they tend to explode if you put water on them - then all the pieces scattered around start a bunch more fires.) So as far as I know, it's pretty much all aluminium or some sort of aluminium alloy these days.
Wish I'd found your site sooner, would have saved me a ton of work! I am not sure who is giving you are hard time but I'd say ignore them, they probably work on go carts 🙂.
Lol... I know what you mean about compressors. I've been meaning to build a sound proof room.... I don't want to waste my money. I can live with it. Nice video BTW....
With those style hub caps I learned to install the tire with two lug nuts on the east and west lugs down the valve stem. Then slide the hub cap on and install the other three.
I poured a small concrete slab to put my air compressor outside my garage so I wouldn't have to listen to it. It also runs cooler and doesn't suck up the shop dust from sanding and painting.
Hey Eric, I have been watching your videos for about a year now and have noticed that you have doubled in subscribers, great job, I was just watching a video that you did in 2015, and you where decided that you reached 2000 subscribers, I can imagine how you may feel know, great job Eric👍
Actually coastal Florida cars are subject to sea air, as it were, and can rust up pretty well from that. It's the Arizona cars that have it made. Nice and dry and hot! Lousy for the paint and interior but great for the anti-rust factor. Thanks for the video.
Couldn't tell ya. I'm a snow belt dweller, have been all my life. But it wouldn't surprise me with the "drive thru paint" shop. Great option for the quick getaway, hit the bank with a green car, head to a jiffy paint, come out red. Perfect.....lol
Fantastic video, once again you don’t disappoint!!! Appreciate you taking the time! I am sure I will be back! Have a good one! Again thx...Wjstyles in Lakewood Ohio
I like this, it's still to the point and easy to follow along, I'm planningg on replacing my mother's wheel bearings soon and wanted to research it before tackling... in a dry country of Australia parts last longer and don't rut out unless you don't wash your car
ewwwww "polycast" not just the t-bird had those....... penetrant while it was still hot from driving and kick backwards like a mule at top and bottom of rim tire ( with blanket or something over it!)
eric o sounds like you need to build a special rubber room for the crybabies and stock it with burger king coloring placemats and bingo crayons, lol or pizza hut used to have nice ones too in the 90s. lol southern folks wouldn't make bank if they came here to do work and you be Rockefeller if you went to Arizona lol great uncut and raw dog video
Hmmmm.... So the phone and the guy on the electric cart are show props... I get it now. LOL And you kept your gloves on the whole time :D Great video Eric. Raw and uncut and still good.
I bought a 1995 Dodge Avenger when it had 7,500 miles or so on it, it was about a year old. It was a cool car, a cool 2 door car that was fairly sporty. It was made in Illinois in a factory owned jointly by Chrysler and Mitsubishi. I enjoyed the car and my son ended up with it and promptly totaled it out. Yeah now they are just a bottom entry level 4 door sedan that is the least sporty car you can buy. Makes you wonder why Chrysler has been in trouble for years doesn't it.
Surprised you didn't get a little excited or give a little sigh of relief when that CV axle moved nice and free from the hub when you pulled the nut. I was totally expecting that to be rock solid.
I don't know why I just watched this...I don't own a Dodge avenger but I did learn that I wasn't the only one who uses a air hammer to help remove the wheel bearing. My family still owns a k-car..low mileage too
I guess the moaners have never worked in a garage before, well he's using air tools so get used to it. Same thing for big nasty too :-) Happy Labor Day Eric. :-)
Your "Bro" voice cracks me up every time and it's spot on to the stuff they say too. 10/10 👍👍

Nice to see you not skimping on the fluid film, pretty sure the shops around here lube with salt water and JB weld.
Here in deep South Texas I don't deal with rusted cars often last time one came in I struggled to remove them bolts had to take out the torch not fun
Sorry Eric I don’t think your a hack. I think you are one of the best mechanic I’ve seen.
I have a Avenger SXT , that was a barn find here in Australia, 08 with 193000 klms every thing still clean and markings from factory and I have to replace the bearings from sitting for 5 years , I just wanted to say how much I am grateful on showing me how.
I was shocked to see the cv axle not rusted to the hub assembly. Thanks for bringing us along, an sma video makes the day better.
I am going to step out on a limb, and say that you have done that at least one other time before. Great video Eric.
1 or 1000 times ;)
Torque stick FOR THE WIN!
hey 50sKid! dig your channel too! yea, I'm a sub... but, I agree, torque stick is plenty close.
Sean Savage thanks man!
Anyone that would call you a hack is clearly the hack themselves. Im in Virginia and I still understand the rust problem you deal with. Heck look at more SMA videos, that is some serious rust dude. Keep rocking Eric O!!
As a resident of western NY. Road salt capital of the east. I feel your pain. Great video. Thanks.
So for the complainers why do they even watch the channel if they dnt like it but that just goes to show how much time some ppl have if they like to watch something they dnt like..keep the videos rolling no complaints here!

SMA After Hours. Raw and Uncut. Make sure the kids are in bed.
Love these real time videos. My favorite kind. 👍🏻
Love the "Full Metal Jacket" references. "Clean, perfect, Bolt smooth" LOL, Always entertaining Raw and uncut...
Your Right Eric! It sounds like a shop when the air compressor is running Good Job!
Thanks for a great look and tutorial.....plus the humor...I'm a southerner I didnt think your were rough on it....most people beat it like it owes them money....great job tho....sure helps me get it done with confidence...thanks
What? No slide hammer? Lol! Brake clean and Big Nasty in one video! Now that’s a true SMA vid!
Love this man! More raw and uncut would be great. I can imagine people learn a lot more from these compared to others.
Good way to start the morning a cop of coffee and a Eric o video
Yes indeed.
Holy Toledo. You changed a wheel bearing in 20 minutes. That's how long it takes me to find the right tools. Another "I am impressed video".
There's your raw uncut...."Rubber broke" video. Good job as always Eric.
That looked easy! The bearing and hub bolts off and on, no hydraulic press required! Thanks.
that was pretty quick. i just picked up a spray can of fluid film. never used it before but if eric uses is....it must be the beez kneez!!
Buy it in a gallon jug and get a sprayer, you will love it, trust me :)
Best stuff going. Im hooked on the stuff. Lol. Even got me a nice fluid film t shirt the company sent me. Great product
Menards now carrys fluid film..under $10 a can..
A lot of front drive cars now a days have the whole hub assembly that includes new studs included. Much cheaper that way.
You are kidding right? Instead of buying a regular bearing for $20, you now must buy a whole hub assembly. They are never cheaper.
They are easier to install however, as you no longer need to remove the steering knuckle.
I’m guaranteed late for work when a new SMA video hits in the a.m.
Us, " Southern Folk " love watching you " Northern Folk " battle that Rust. Its your pay back for Winning The War.
The South will Rise Again.
🤣

I'm a lifelong deep southerner, been around machinery all my life and have never heard anyone doubt the hell that salted roads create.
Love the Raw and Uncut co....I mean video Mr.O ;) Appreciate the different style!
I love watching the movies. You are a funny guy. Thanks
Oh Magooh, you've done it again!!!
We replaced my front driver side one 3 weeks ago. We had to beat it off. It took a hour. I need to get some of those tools you have .
Sometimes you got to do what you got to do. Great work!
I love torque sticks they work amazing Eric O
Nice easy one for a change, and a tip from grandma nice.
More great tool tips! And of course, the great commentary!

They have jiffy lube paint shops there. Ammco's? Is that the franchise?

Back in the day on the T bird they had polycast wheels to get them off a TSB said to loosen the logs and drive until they make noise
ewwwww "polycast" not just the t-bird had those....... penetrant while it was still hot from driving and kick backwards like a mule at top and bottom of rim tire ( with blanket or something over it!)
Thanks Eric keep up the good work
Move that noisey compressor into the office area. Tell Mrs. O it's for the recording quality. Then move your sleeping duds into the garage!
The second that air compressor kicks on, she will move Mr O. to the couch ! Lol !!! 😂😂😂
Poor Vanessa! 😟
And Mr. O thought that compressed canned air wuz cold.........
As a southern gentleman I say rusty trails to you.😁 I had a Pennsylvania F-150 (1991)everything was a pain.
eric o sounds like you need to build a special rubber room for the crybabies and stock it with burger king coloring placemats and bingo crayons, lol or pizza hut used to have nice ones too in the 90s. lol southern folks wouldn't make bank if they came here to do work and you be Rockefeller if you went to Arizona lol great uncut and raw dog video
Wow, you made that look easy. Great video. Thanks !!!
I love your impression of the Napa cartoon parts dude...lol
If Hannah has to come patch you up “Welcome back to the South Main Nursing Channel’. 😂😂
Thanks Eric, the uncut videos are great always glad to see wheel bearings brakes front axle work... I'm not sure why 🤔
You do "SPICOLI" from "FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH", very well!
But, you also do an updated "SAM DRUCKER", too!
Lol
We need a Big Nasty t-shirt! Nice work.
Hmmmm.... So the phone and the guy on the electric cart are show props... I get it now. LOL And you kept your gloves on the whole time :D Great video Eric. Raw and uncut and still good.
I just watched a video from SKF they make a hub / bearing puller, looked pretty easy and QUIET
hi guys, another great video, raw and uncut,,, splendid, cheers
Great Video, incredible work, shame all garages aren't as good as you xD

Omg awesome Tommy boy reference. Well done sir.
Coffee and South Main Auto in the morning. What’s better?
Greetings from Mexico Eric! Big fan of your channel!
knocked that job right out I don't think they make mag wheels anymore
Surprised you didn't get a little excited or give a little sigh of relief when that CV axle moved nice and free from the hub when you pulled the nut. I was totally expecting that to be rock solid.
Loved the Raw and Uncut. Would love to see more.
Liking this video because of Kroil (and Eric O. Too)
Those earplugs work a treat!!!
I had a carbide burr set ,also, that never wore out. Amazing how they can hold up to abuse.
Raw dogging and the axle nut was a smoker thumbs up as always!
I am aware of the slang.
I don't know why I just watched this...I don't own a Dodge avenger but I did learn that I wasn't the only one who uses a air hammer to help remove the wheel bearing. My family still owns a k-car..low mileage too
Bless You.... I like the uncut version
Great video! gonna help as i have to do the wheel bearing on a toyota levin bzr tomorrow
Thxs Eric nicely rawed out, always enjoyabe videos..

Quick fire wheel bearing change 💪
I guess the moaners have never worked in a garage before, well he's using air tools so get used to it. Same thing for big nasty too :-) Happy Labor Day Eric. :-)
