THANK YOU!! I literally tried one time and all the other videos try to loosen the right side lower mounting bolts which are VERY DIFFICULT to even get to. I couldn't so I gave up!! I was quoted $350 from the dealer just for labor! Then I came across your video and saw that EXTEMELY useful trick of removing the rear left side bracket mount which allows to pull the manifold to the left side. NO OTHER VIDEO I SAW EVEN SHOWED THIS!! Thank you for saving me literally $350!!!

Did my 160k km/ 100k mile tuneup based on your vid. Thank you!
For everyone else, here were my challenges:
-the 13mm bolt at the left rear bracket was rust-welded to the stud. But the stud came out with the bolt just as easily so no issue
-the top PCV valve bolt stripped (cheap plastic). Need to take to a shop. So no PCV replaced yet
-coil electrical connectors not easy to take out (stuck). Gotta work at em.
-you don't have to take off all the alternator wires but it is easier to work at the rear if it is out of the way. The intake plenum can swing to the left just enough to change the plugs
-ALL vacuum hoses stuck. Used WD40 at the connectors and had to tug hard on the hoses (learned the WD40 trick from mr. Pike 👌).
    Thanks man for the vid!

Incredible video! I followed these exact steps with my 2014 Dodge Charger SXT because I needed to change a spark plug and ignition coil and I was able to get the plug and coil changed easily and quickly. Mr. Pike was also spot on with his description of the coil stem showing a white pinhole/ring when it throws a misfire code. My old coil had this ring and pinhole exactly as described. My car seems to be running perfect again! Couldn’t be happier with the quality of this video. Keep up the great work!

Dodge quoted my lady 1400 for this job. Crazy, when the parts didn't even add up to 200 off ebay. It took me 2hrs. The hardest part was getting that plastic clip off the bolt in the back. Also a 3/8 set work fine on a 2017. You're right about all socket and wrench sizes. Keep up the good work, with video's.

  • @robertrishel3685

You saved me at least $400, at a minimum, from what the dealer was going to charge me. It isn’t just the labor, they wouldn’t accept the job unless I got the parts through them…. Then there was the way the service guy warned me about a common lifter problem these engines are having (an issue I know was not happening to my sons engine) as though to prepare me for the additional expense…. When I hung up the phone I immediately felt as though I was about to get screwed.
It’s always better to do the work yourself if you can. No one else will care as much about the details as you will. And this job, while initially daunting, was actually very simple when using your excellent video as a guide.
Really, this is one of the best how to videos I have ever seen, nothing is left out.
    THANK YOU!

On the Chrysler 300 Forum, somebody posted a "step-by-step" and said it took him 2 days the first time and several hours the second. I did the entire plug change in an hour after watching this vid! @@MotorCityMechanic I just wanted to say, ever since I've owned my Journey (2013), you've given me the one piece of confidence I lack at times and that is torque sequences and specs. I don't know why manufacturers make it so hard to find them. I'm lucky and my local parts guy at the dealership has no problem printing me off such things.

Hey MCM: Thanks for the great video! This was very helpful for my 2011 Grand Cherokee, which has the 3.6 Pentastar. The only thing I did differently was remove the two manifold brackets on the left side of the engine, instead of the rear manifold bracket. I just couldn't figure out how to get access to the 13mm bolt on the bottom of the rear bracket. Really appreciate the videos.

Good afternoon Mr. David Pike I like to start off by saying all your videos are fantastic and super informative 👍 I have reached out to you before and was really appreciative that you responded I did not request any help with a particular matter I was impressed on how simple you make it to follow step by step on how you approach an issue I don't have Twitter or face book not a big social media fan,
But a big fan of information on great subjects.
You are very informative and hope you may be able to help me with my issue.
    I'm have a 2012 chysler 300 AWD.
I have been getting a misfire code in cylinder (2), and only in cylinder (2), with a rough Idle.
    I've changed the
Spark plug made sure it was at its correct spec and brand for my car, replaced it and set it at the manufacturers torque measurements.
I've changed my ignition coil pack on cylinder (2) I have correct voltage going towards the coil pack, also torque to correct specs.
I've changed my fuel injector on cylinder (2). I have voltage.
I recognize there is a quicker clicking sound at the base of the individual injector as compared to the other injectors im not sure why that is or is that the are I need to concentrate on?
I have very little oil in cylinder port (2) not sure if that would constitute as the problem.
Also there are no vaccum leaks that I can see or hear for, and every time I worked on the vehicle I made sure everything I did going forward I did everything in reverse.
I start the car I still have a rough start the car still has the misfire code.
I hope you can advise me in what steps to take next.
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Now I will not attempt to undertake any of these tasks myself but good to know how everything works and relatable to what the shops are doing to your car.
Also you being sort of a Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge specialist from ur vids..I will hope u get some sort of sponsorship or support from Fiat-Chrysler. Keep up the good work.

Used this video to change plugs on my 2014 grand Cherokee summit 3.6L. Small things were different but for the most part it is spot on.
Prior to starting make sure you have:
    New plugs (duh)
    Anti seize compound
    Electric grease
New gaskets for the upper manifold( part # in video)
    Lots of sockets/ wrenches
Needle nose pliers, flat head screw driver, rags
    Patience

I need to find which coil and replace it myself and these shops are wanting to charge an arm and a leg just to look at it since the maintenance light is not on due to another ship so-called fixing my car and didn’t do nothing about it and just knocked the light off. From Australia mate----How good are you mate? The thought of doing the spark plug change on my 300 3.6motor was a bit scary. The thought of sending it to the selling dealer terrified me--how many times I have sent cars to dealers that ended in a fu%$ed up mess, --I have lost count over the years . Your video was a great step by step tutorial on the task. A mate and myself did the job --that without your video and obvious knowledge of the job at hand, and very clear step by step instructions--would have been impossible for us . I love my car--so the car and myself thank you very much. I hope you get a kick out of the lots of great reviews. They are well deserved. All the best from the land of the kangaroo.
