My 07 Silverado would just shut off going down the road. The first time I had to get it towed to the mechanic and they could find anything wrong with it. I had just replaced the fuel pump 4 months before just because it has 160,000 miles on it. So I was pretty sure that was not the problem. Mean while it died on me on the freeway two times in under 10 miles but restarted. My brother came into town who is a good mechanic and we looked at everything and it would not repeat itself until one day outside Harbor Freight were we had just bought a fuel pressure gauge it would not start. So we put the gauge on and no pressure, waited like 30 minutes and it started. I then decided to try my Chevy dealer and they said the fuel pump was bad, so I had then replace it. Just under $700. And a few days later it would not start again. When it did decide to start I ran down to the dealer right before closing and pulled into service bay and then one of the service techs went to move it and it would not start. So the service writer now could hear the problem since she was only a few feet away. So one of the things my brother looked at was the fuse block under the hood, but he did not have the tools with him to check it out. End of story it was the fuse block. Guess when it would get hot it would expand and loose contact with the fuel pump relay. Moral of the story check out that fuse block under the hood before spending $$$$ on a fuel pump. And my dealer did give me a good discount on the second go around.
My truck went into low power mode then limped it to oriellys and they said it was probably ignition switch but I just replaced relay for the second time and it fixed it then did it 30 minutes later then I figured I’d buy the switch and put it in now it will only crank and no start and even bought to two more relays and still doing the same thing
This was my 1st time having this problem. I found your comment and went under the hood and pulled the relay. put it back in, and the truck started right up.
Tim, that was a heartfelt prayer and sentiment. The information on the fuel pump was well said. I'm certain you are a blessing to your community. Peace brother
Tim is an excellent guy. I spoke with him about a failure to start that I was having and he was happy to talk. Thank you sir!By the way Tim, it turned out to be a weak spark from the dang coil!
1999 Sierra here, my no start issue was due to ignition switch not sending 12v to the pcm while in the crank position (but only when cold, never had an issue during the summer). I took it to an independent shop, who successfully diagnosed the problem. Shoutout to Denio Automotive in Phillipsburg, Ks! I had them bypass the issue, (instead of buying the correct but very expensive part) with a push button(leave the ign. sw. in the on position, then push the button to run the starter). This was after I had a dealership mechanic(on his own time at my house) replace the intake gasket, because he was "pretty sure" that's what's wrong, never did any other diagnoses. Then I replaced the crankshaft sensor, then the camshaft sensor. Hope this saves someone else some trouble.
Thanks a thousand, just had to help my mechanic with some tech knowledge you supplied to us youtubers, the part about not enough psi. My chevy 3500 only had 20-30 psi with a new fuel pump, took it back got a new one and whalllla it started right up..
Well said! Good video also. I can hear my pump failing the way my '07 starts. It just doesn't light up the way it should. 115,000 miles. Not bad for a GM pump.
Having similar problem with an 02 Silverado, crank, no start, fuel pump runs, and left me stranded.. ..Fuel pump was replaced a few years ago..I'll have to get it home to test the pressure and check codes..
I had that same exact truck pretty much and did the same thing where it would stall and not start but it would crank. Fuel pump sounded normal and it ended up being a crankshaft position sensor
The short rubber hose that connects the fuel pump to the metal feed line inside the tank prone to deteriorate and leads to low fuel pressure or no pressure at all. I found this myself when I removed the pump from my 2002 GMC 7500 HD Kodiak truck. The in tank filter was separated from the pump that worked unprotected and short lived.
You'd figure chevy would have fixed the fuel pump problem by that year. I got a 98 with a few fuel pump replacements. Hello from NC! You stay safe up there. 30 more days of stay home rules here. Praying this thing comes to an end soon. Thanks to everyone that's trying to make a difference.

Tim what about a 2008 thats been sitting for a couple years because we can get a crank but won't start. No codes are coming up. I'm a good mechanic but can't figure this one out.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado V6 my son drove the truck after the flash engine light was flashing for two days and then the truck shut off and he had it towed. I went and checked the truck out and ran a scan on the truck showed P305 and P 300. I found cylinder one and cylinder three coil packs bad so I changed all the plugs and the wires also they were fouled and very dirty and looked to be original. I checked to make sure that I was getting spark and I was. I tried to start the truck and it would just turn over with no start. I checked the mass airflow sensor and sprayed it out with mass airflow sensor cleaner. I also change the camshaft positioning sensor. Still no start. Any ideas I tried starter fluid still no start
Another good one Tim. M had a few that needed fuel pump replacements. The best way I did then was take the bed bolts out of the drivers side loosen the bolts on the passenger side enough and jack up the bed on the drivers side and brace it. It was easier and quicker than either dropping the tank or removing the bed. Stay safe my friend. We will get through this together.

I replaced my ABS module on my 2002 Silverado 5.3L and did a hard reboot by connecting the battery cables together for half an hour as was suggested by Your Part Source. Now the vehicle cranks for a split second and dies. I keep thinking it is going to start but it won't. Do you have a suggestion? I visited Gwinny's in Anchorage once. Had a great time in Alaska. I would really appreciate your help.
Did you ever find out what the problem Was? Mine will fire once but won't start and won't fire again until u cycle the key. Each time I hit the key I get one fire and no start
@@stupiddummy8087Yes Sir. A fellow at Spence's Garage in Denton, Texas told me to disconnect the new module. I disconected the ABS module and my truck started immediately. Turns out I bought the wrong ABS module.. One thing I know for sure. Someone being a "certified" mechanic don't mean squat. All they seem to know how to do is read a code and start replacing parts. A line mechanic at Sewell Village told me my ABS light was on because of a bad grouding cable from the battery. WRONG Then he said it was the speed sensor on the front right. WRONG AGAIN The vehicle has r22's and that causes the speedometer to be off. Next I am going to find someone with a HyperTech 32500 to recalibrate my speedometer. Maybe that will solve the intermittent ABS/Brake light coming on issue. GOOD LUCK

No codes related to the no start. Condition Only evap system code Do you think the ecm. Will be. The culprit ? Thank you so much.
I would check your powers and grounds looking closely at the circuit around the underhood junction block. PCM is another place to look I guess. Hope you get it figured out.

@@MrA7morelli it was the anti theft module that needed to be replaced
GOOD LUCK
changed the fuel pump still occasionally the morning start will just crank and crank.
Same here any idea of the repair
I am thank you
Where did you find a test point on that?
My truck went into low power mode then limped it to oriellys and they said it was probably ignition switch but I just replaced relay for the second time and it fixed it then did it 30 minutes later then I figured I’d buy the switch and put it in now it will only crank and no start and even bought to two more relays and still doing the same thing just still cranks
Need help juts put a 6.0 on my 03 gmc but fuel won’t go into the injectors if y’all know whys wrong lmk
Hello dr. Big question here. 2002 suburban 5.3
No spark no injector pulse. No power. From de ecm to the fuel pump relay. I got a good waveform. From the cam crank sensor.
I got 5 v. Reference. On tps - Map sensor. Etc. i use extra geound wire from battery to frame. Just in case. No ground.
Vata system looks working ok
Security light come on for 3 seconds. The. Goes off.
No codes related to the no start. Condition
Only evap system code
Do you think the ecm. Will be. The culprit ?
Thank you so much.
I would check your powers and grounds looking closely at the circuit around the underhood junction block. PCM is another place to look I guess. Hope you get it figured out.
@@ThecardoctorTV i got 5 volt. Reference At the map.
5v tps. 3.7 at ect. . I add extra ground. From the battery to the Engine. Still no spark. No I jector. Pulse. The security light. Comes on. When i open de door. And start flashing. Then goes off after i closed . Im lost. At this point. On things left. Is the ecm.
