I love in depth you go into these tutorials and I really could have used something like this when I started. However there is still a tutorial for this game I still need. I can't find a 120 star tutorial anywhere on TH-cam. If you would be down can you make a 120 star tutorial? I would really appreciate it if you did
Thank you! My main thought is that most people don't move onto 120 until they get pretty good, so they wouldn't need a guide very much. Because of this, those guides would probably get a lot less publicity.

@@zig8737 if you can pull off 70 star runs well then it won't be hard to learn the rest from watching the full speedruns...i guess

i am using my keyboard to play and lol it's insane to play even though i had finished the game(not 120 stars but 76 i think) once a year ago already lol
do you think it's the keyboard being too complicated to use or am i just bad? XD
Wellllll, there are some really good keyboard players, but it's definitely really hard to use. You can get good, but I recommend just using an xbox controller or something instead
@@SeanRaider could you tell me some players who speedrun with keyboard...cuz honestly that's insane
(cuz ya know blj glitch was impossible for me to do, and movement is restricted to only 8 directions which makes throwing bowser on bombs quite hard, and changing camera angles is quite annoying too lol)
@@pleasecontactme4274 SigotuSR and katze789 come to mind. Both are on twitch and have input displays so you can see how they do what they do. You can also check out Sigotu's entries on the speedrun.com sm64 leaderboard, he's highly ranked on emulator.
@@SeanRaider i was checking the leaderboard yesterday, and i see that emu is a different sub-category. now why is that so? the world records on emu are very close to the console one(like 2s difference). they also say for competitive speedrunning one should use console not emulator. honestly doesn't make any sense to me if the runs are similar
also why is project64 version 1.6+ banned? do the later versions give some advantage? feels the same to me
what is faster? dive jump or long jump?
They are about the same, but a dive/ jump dive will be slower if you don't get a first frame rollout
It depends on how much distance you're trying to cover. Like technically, jump dives are faster than LJs, but consider the movement before entering dark world. You have to move a certain distance forward to the trap door. Longjump jump dive doesn't quite get you there, so longjump longjump dive ends up being faster because it covers the distance more cleanly. Also on a separate note, longjumps are the fastest way to accelerate you from a standstill, even if they're not faster once you're moving fast.
@@SeanRaider but wouldn't (long jump -> jump dive -> roll) be faster to enter? first long jump for standstill, jump dive for more speed, and roll to enter the picture

Slide skip doesn't work tried it for hours did everything you said but he wouldn't get it
