Wow, great addition guys! As a professional video & sound engineer, I am very critical of the post-processing of my sound. I usually edit the audio in an external software editor for best results. The audio filters upgrade is very nice, this will save me a lot of time. Keep up the good work - :)

Excellent to see these new audio tools added to Edius. Consider Edius a powerful and intuitive editor for video, but did think the audio features were lagging a little behind the times. Keep up the good work guys :-)
Perfekt... das hat schon immer gefehlt, denn die Audiofilter die bis jetzt in EDIUS vorhanden sind bestehen aus 16 Filter, die aber bei genauer Betrachtung nur 7 unterschiedliche sind, und die anderen 9 nur Duplikate mit Voreinstellungen sind. Jetzt kriegt die Audioabteilung in EDIUS Hand und Fuß.

Hello Edius team. I know you read the comments so I am writing :). Multiple microphones record over 2 channels. on one, e.g. with -20 db. This is what the newest rode vide mic ntg does. There is no option to change the channel in many files at once. now I have to select each file, then click "properties" then "audio" and then "channel setting" and choose for example "monaural channel 1". My each project has over 200 files, changing them individually takes hours ... thanks in advance for your help :)
Dear noa4h! There are many different ways to handls that. You can work with mono clips and delete the one you don't want. You can the filter panpot & balance filter or maybe the best way you can use the audio mapper in the sequence settings and get a virtual patch field where you can decide which track shall go to which channel.
Thank you, these look great and I look forward to finally upgrading from Edius 8.53. My only concern with these type of filters from previous experience is the long term support. With previous included addons, examples being Mercalli, titlers and other effects, it has not been uncommon for them to disappear on a later versions of Edius causing problems when having to rework older projects, can you give any guarantee that these addons will be supported long term?
Hello! Yes, that is definitly the plan. Grass Valley also want to avoid such problems. So the idea is that these plug-ins will also be included (maybe updated) in the future or that the existing plug-in can be installed in newer versions.
Dear EDIUS.NET and GV Team, this is excellent! These are great new features and real help in the audio section. I believe that now I will no longer have to use another program for such repairs. But I have one different question regarding the audio section: Buffer. When the audio mixer is off (when not visible), the buffer is at 250. But as soon as the audio mixer turns on, the buffer is often at a maximum of 5. This is not a problem if there are one or two channels on the timeline. However, if there are multiple active channels and if they are loaded with video effects (e.g. CC and CG), such a small buffer creates a huge problem in real time playback. Is there any solution for that or any hope that this will be fixed in future updates? The collaboration with Acon Digital is a real deal. Bravo!! Thank you!
Dear Media 53, great to hear that you like the new features! For the usage of the Audio mixer: If you set all the tracks on "off" (which means that you will not chane the audio level while playing), the audio mixer will not have any effect on the buffer. But if you select a setting that allows you to change the audio level, the buffer will be set to a maximum of 5 frames. it is designed like this to give you a direct feedback on the change of the audio level(s). Obviously a buffer does not know how you will change the audio in the future. So this "works as designed". If the PC get's problems with the payback, try to fix the problem. Sometime is it a harddrive which is not fast enoigh or something else in the system which limits the power. Of course in Workgroup (and in EDIUS X than also with Pro!) you can lower the playback video resolution to allow the system to be faster. For the audio mix, that is maybe the best solution as it will not reduce the audio quality, only the video resolution.
Having used Edius when it was JustEdit? and a big haitus, its great to see Edius getting some more pro features - it looks like the people in charge actually enjoy building the product now ! Love this video format - explain, then try it for real.. Well done folks.. If the new VST plugin works better, will things like iZotope RX work more seamlessly ? And is the parametric EQ good ? I am still on Edius 7 !!! (p.s. also great to see these comments getting clear and in depth responses!)
Dear P XMAN, thank you for your kind words. Yes, we all love EDIUS and are happy to implement more features. But EDIUS is also very stable and reliable - that is probably a big different to other editors. And of course the format support which exceed all others. And so on. But to your questions: More VST plug-ins than ever will work with EDIUS X in the future. The team is still testing, but the new engine allows to use more complex filters in the future. The parametric EQ is native EDIUS and works very nice - you can for example use it for de-hum because you can select a frequency and turn it down. Yes, and the Acon Digital Engine for removing Reverb/echo is really great. We are happy to have it integrated directly in EDIUS X - together with the Limit EE, Compress EE and DeNoise EE filter.
@@rokg12 That is depending on the few: If you have set your Audio view to log, a linear fade will look lig a log, but it only the view. Try it bay changing the audio view mode to linear again.

I am a bit disappointed: The new filters are really great and will improve the workflow- but this is only on Plug in level. Sound in EDIUS is focused mainly on antique Stereo Format. The 5.1 Support is not really usable as SoundClips have to be distributed manually over the channels- by copying the tracks and manual volume adjustment. Already ‚simple‘ NLE Solution like Magix seems to have better solutions.
5.1 support and Dolby Digital export is possible, but you are right (there is even a Dolby Plus/ Dolby Professional option for EDIUS Workgroup). But EDIUS is limited when positioning an audio source in the room and making a complex audio sourround mix. We get very little request for this feature, as you can easily use a professional audio editor to make a really good 5.1 mix. We recommend Acon Digital Acoustica for this. And the good news is: As Acon Digital is now bundle partner with EDIUS X, EDIUS X users will be able to buy a Pro Audio package with even more EDIUS compatible audio filters and including Acoustica Premium at a very much discounted price. So if you really want to do professional audio work, this package would be the recommandation. But for 95% of the EDIUS users, this package of typical filters should be perfect for their daily work.

@@oliverf9611 That's because those people who are doing surround or 5.1 audio are working on different NLE-systems or they are using external DAWs. I also miss proper 5.1 track handling since easy audio filters who generally respect dependencies in the audio channel setup while applying can't be used. Same (as you already said) on simple volume control. You have to alter the rubber band on 6 single audio tracks. I don't want to switch to an DAW for simple volume control. For me it's disappointing that nearly nothing has changed on the audio workflow. With a good base engine and a good workflow, everyone can buy the plugins needed, so there would be no need to implement third party tools.
@@diemedien-uschi7402 EDIUS X will bring many nice new features. We selected features which had the highest demand. And for noise reduction and optimization filters Acon Digital is the best choice. EDIUS X brings a new VST plug-in bridge which will allow more filters to work. And when the project database is released, even more features in Audio get possible.
@@EDIUSNET in that scenario, there will be a"click" sound, where two audio clips (of two different frequencies) meet. Is there any way to deal with that "click" sound? without reducing the music sound?
@@aseefsh3002 If there is a click, you cut in a piece of audio and break it. You need to cut at a different way: 1. do a fade / 2. cut at a different moment / 3. Check the waveform to find the right moment to generate a loop. You can defina an audio offset (rightclick on the clip) which alows you to find the 100% correct timing.
Please read my wishlist below for better & faster editing workflow in EDIUS 1. Add a search box for effects window (just like the search box in the masking effect) 2. A search function for searching marker comments both in the bin & timeline windows (move playhead to marker) 3. Better EDIUS/Mync collaboration. A search function for searching clip tags & comments created with Mync 4. A keyboard shortcut for selecting a clip and add focus at the timeline Playhead (clip information will display in the Palette Window) 5. More timeline toolbar buttons e.g. clip colour or customize toolbar button to add a script like Vegas Pro. 6. See audio waveform in the player window and add markers to audio clips 7. Convert audio LTC timecode in a clip to broadcast timecode for syncing 8. Clip speed (Time Effect) available as an effect filter so it can be added to several clips on the timeline

Crtl+Shift+Alt+Z = marks the clip at timeline cursour of the marked track (use Crtl+Shift+1 = to mark the VA1 track) 5. + 6. + 7. Are on the wishlist, but do not have the highest priority. 8. @@Miya_Yuu Yes, since EDIUS 8, the loudness meter and the automatic loundness controll is only included in the Workgroup versions, not in Pro Versions. In EDIUS Pro 7 it was still included (with less functions).

Waveform preview in the source windows is on the feature wish list. But it has not a high priority as not so many users where asking for it. It's not planned for the 10.0 release.
I have to agree with this. When editing audio, I'm having to drag audio on to the timeline (usually in to another Sequence), cut it on the time line and then copy and paste parts back to my main sequence. It's a clumsy and slow way to work, which I imaging could put off editors who are used to Premiere or Vegas. Edius is excellent in so many ways, but on the odd occasions I do go edit bits in Vegas (I'm never going back to Adobe), it reminds me how much faster and easier audio can be to edited.

Ich habe einen Intel (R) Core TM i7-7700 CPU 3,6 GHz Prozessor mit 16 GB RAM. Mit diesem PC ist es nicht möglich, vernünftig mit 4K - Material zu arbeiten. Ändert sich das in der neuen Version oder muss ich den 3 Jahre alten PC schon wieder entsorgen?

@@EDIUSNET QuickSync läuft, sobald ich aber einen Titel hineinbringe oder Farbänderungen vornehme, ist Schluss, dann muß ich alles rendern und dann kann ich es mir ansehen. Wird das bei Edius 10 durch das sofortige Rendern während der Arbeit dann besser? Müßte ja, oder? Ich habe keine Workgroupversion und kann daherdie Qualität nicht auf 1/2 oder 1/4 herunterstellen. Ist das dann auch bei Edius 10 für die Normalversion ebenfalls gegeben? Ich möchte mir nicht ständig neue Rechner kaufen müssen und somit erwarte ich eigentlich von Edius, dass die Software so ausgelegt wird, dass man auch mit einem normalen (!?) PC vernünftig 4k - Material bearbeiten kann. Trotzdem hier schon mal herzlichen Dank für Ihre Kommentare!
@@erichoverhagebock5293 Hallo! Ja, EDIUS X wird hier mehrere Verbesserungen bringen: Das Backgroundrendering und die reduzierte Vorschauqualität auf für die EDIUS Pro Version. In EDIUS Pro 9 wäre sonst der Proxy Modus eine gute Lösung. Das problem kommt im übrigen daher, dass DJI ein single Slice File schreibt, das Video besteht also aus einem großen Stück und nur ein Decoder kann daran arbeiten. Sony, JVC, Canon, Panasonic, usw. machen alle Multi-Slice, das lässt sich viel besser verarbeiten.
Una funzione interessante che mi aspetto da tempo e' quella di poter selezionare tutte le scene in timeline per poterle rallentare contemporaneamente e senza tagliare la loro durata non come ora ad una ad una.
@@EDIUSNET Questo si, ma ad esempio tre clip della durata di 2 secondi l'uno, rallentandole al 50% selezionandole una per una ,il risultato finale e' una sequenza di 12 secondi, mentre come rispondete alla mia domanda se seleziono tutte insieme le stesse clip di 2 secondi l'uno il risultato finale e' che avrò una sequenza rallentata di 6 secondi Perché Edius taglia la parte finale della clip
@@maurolig2504 Se le tre clip 2s sono una sopra l'altra, funziona perché c'è spazio. Se sono uno dietro l'altro, la velocità viene regolata, ma le clip rimangono della stessa lunghezza. È una funzione di cui hai bisogno più spesso? Posso inserirlo nella lista dei desideri.
comunque ho fatto la prova ora stesso mettendo le clip una sopra all'altra traccia video 1 e traccia video 2 e il problema non si risolve lo slow avviene ma la lunghezza della clip rimane la stessa dell originale
Hello! You need a CPU with AVX2 support - which basically every CPU has that its not older than about 6-7 years. A nice system is a i9-10900K with 32GB Ram, M.2 Storage and a RTX 2060 GPU.

Will you guys add in a synchronize feature if a video and audio are out of sync and I don't mean just multi-cam syncing.
There is an easy fix by using 4 point editing. That is supported by EDIUS since a long time.

At last an echo remover, no more need to send audio to Adobe Audition. How long before Edius X features land in Edius Workgroups?

@@rokg12 That is depending on the few: If you have set your Audio view to log, a linear fade will look lig a log, but it only the view. Try it bay changing the audio view mode to linear again.

The new filters are really great and will improve the workflow- but this is only on Plug in level.
Sound in EDIUS is focused mainly on antique Stereo Format. The 5.1 Support is not really usable as SoundClips have to be distributed manually over the channels- by copying the tracks and manual volume adjustment. Already ‚simple‘ NLE Solution like Magix seems to have better solutions.
5.1 support and Dolby Digital export is possible, but you are right (there is even a Dolby Plus/ Dolby Professional option for EDIUS Workgroup). But EDIUS is limited when positioning an audio source in the room and making a complex audio sourround mix. We get very little request for this feature, as you can easily use a professional audio editor to make a really good 5.1 mix. We recommend Acon Digital Acoustica for this. And the good news is: As Acon Digital is now bundle partner with EDIUS X, EDIUS X users will be able to buy a Pro Audio package with even more EDIUS compatible audio filters and including Acoustica Premium at a very much discounted price. So if you really want to do professional audio work, this package would be the recommandation. But for 95% of the EDIUS users, this package of typical filters should be perfect for their daily work.

That's because those people who are doing surround or 5.1 audio are working on different NLE-systems or they are using external DAWs. I also miss proper 5.1 track handling since easy audio filters who generally respect dependencies in the audio channel setup while applying can't be used. Same (as you already said) on simple volume control. You have to alter the rubber band on 6 single audio tracks. I don't want to switch to an DAW for simple volume control. For me it's disappointing that nearly nothing has changed on the audio workflow.
With a good base engine and a good workflow, everyone can buy the plugins needed, so there would be no need to implement third party tools.

How to lengthen an audio clip (audio looping) from 1 minute to 10 minutes?
Simply copy the clip (crtl+c) and paste (crtl+v) the clip 10 times.
@@EDIUSNET in that scenario, there will be a"click" sound, where two audio clips (of two different frequencies) meet. Is there any way to deal with that "click" sound? without reducing the music sound?
@@aseefsh3002 If there is a click, you cut in a piece of audio and break it. You need to cut at a different way: 1. do a fade / 2. cut at a different moment / 3. Check the waveform to find the right moment to generate a loop. You can defina an audio offset (rightclick on the clip) which alows you to find the 100% correct timing.

1. + 2. + 3. With the new database structure EDIUS X will get improved search functions,
4. Crtl+Shift+Alt+Z = marks the clip at timeline cursour of the marked track (use Crtl+Shift+1 = to mark the VA1 track)
5. + 6. + 7. Are on the wishlist, but do not have the highest priority.
8. Time effects can already be used on more than one clip (already in EDIUS 9).

Waveform preview in the source windows is on the feature wish list. But it has not a high priority as not so many users where asking for it. It's not planned for the 10.0 release.
I have to agree with this. When editing audio, I'm having to drag audio on to the timeline (usually in to another Sequence), cut it on the time line and then copy and paste parts back to my main sequence. It's a clumsy and slow way to work, which I imaging could put off editors who are used to Premiere or Vegas. Edius is excellent in so many ways, but on the odd occasions I do go edit bits in Vegas (I'm never going back to Adobe), it reminds me how much faster and easier audio can be to edited.

Ich habe einen Intel (R) Core TM i7-7700 CPU 3,6 GHz Prozessor mit 16 GB RAM. Mit diesem PC ist es nicht möglich, vernünftig mit 4K - Material zu arbeiten. Ändert sich das in der neuen Version oder muss ich den 3 Jahre alten PC schon wieder entsorgen?
Ein i7-7700 sollte problemlos mit 4K Material arbeiten. Von welcher Kamera stammt denn das 4K Material? Welche Bildrate hat es?
@@EDIUSNET Das Bildmaterial kommt von DJI Osmo Pocketoder vom Smartphone Galaxy S 20 Ultra 5G und ich filme mit 50 fps. Auf der timeline gibt es sofort eine rote Linie und es ruckelt. Was kann ich machen?

@@EDIUSNET QuickSync läuft, sobald ich aber einen Titel hineinbringe oder Farbänderungen vornehme, ist Schluss, dann muß ich alles rendern und dann kann ich es mir ansehen. Wird das bei Edius 10 durch das sofortige Rendern während der Arbeit dann besser? Müßte ja, oder? Ich habe keine Workgroupversion und kann daherdie Qualität nicht auf 1/2 oder 1/4 herunterstellen. Ist das dann auch bei Edius 10 für die Normalversion ebenfalls gegeben? Ich möchte mir nicht ständig neue Rechner kaufen müssen und somit erwarte ich eigentlich von Edius, dass die Software so ausgelegt wird, dass man auch mit einem normalen (!?) PC vernünftig 4k - Material bearbeiten kann. Trotzdem hier schon mal herzlichen Dank für Ihre Kommentare!
@@erichoverhagebock5293 Hallo! Ja, EDIUS X wird hier mehrere Verbesserungen bringen: Das Backgroundrendering und die reduzierte Vorschauqualität auf für die EDIUS Pro Version. In EDIUS Pro 9 wäre sonst der Proxy Modus eine gute Lösung. Das problem kommt im übrigen daher, dass DJI ein single Slice File schreibt, das Video besteht also aus einem großen Stück und nur ein Decoder kann daran arbeiten. Sony, JVC, Canon, Panasonic, usw. machen alle Multi-Slice, das lässt sich viel besser verarbeiten.
Una funzione interessante che mi aspetto da tempo e' quella di poter selezionare tutte le scene in timeline per poterle rallentare contemporaneamente e senza tagliare la loro durata non come ora ad una ad una.
Funziona: seleziona semplicemente più clip e modifica la velocità. Quindi la velocità viene regolata per tutti loro.
@@EDIUSNET Questo si, ma ad esempio tre clip della durata di 2 secondi l'uno, rallentandole al 50% selezionandole una per una ,il risultato finale e' una sequenza di 12 secondi, mentre come rispondete alla mia domanda se seleziono tutte insieme le stesse clip di 2 secondi l'uno il risultato finale e' che avrò una sequenza rallentata di 6 secondi Perché Edius taglia la parte finale della clip
@@maurolig2504 Se le tre clip 2s sono una sopra l'altra, funziona perché c'è spazio. Se sono uno dietro l'altro, la velocità viene regolata, ma le clip rimangono della stessa lunghezza. È una funzione di cui hai bisogno più spesso? Posso inserirlo nella lista dei desideri.

comunque ho fatto la prova ora stesso mettendo le clip una sopra all'altra traccia video 1 e traccia video 2 e il problema non si risolve lo slow avviene ma la lunghezza della clip rimane la stessa dell originale
