I began using Edius DV Storm 2 more years ago than I care to remember and the one stand out features over the years of improvements has always been the incredible stability of this software. Edius has never crashed on me, while other NLE's I have tried consistently crashed while working on something, Premiere being the worst of them. An amazing upgrade from 9,5 to 10. Titler and transitions what I was looking for in Edius. Can’t wait for the upgrade. I will wait with editing my last project till the 15th of September in order to improve the result with the new features.

Hello! Well if you have QuickSync with an intel processor from the 7th/8th/9th/10th generation, then you can export H.265 using QuickSync, so you don't need a GPU with H.265 encoder. But for customers with for example Dual Xeon, 18-core intel or AMD Ryzen with up to 64 core (but no QuickSync), an up-to-date Nvidia GPU will allow you to export H.265 with hardware acceleration.

Hello! You can put one (or more) sequence(s) into a new sequence. By doing so you can put filters and effects on the whole sequence.

Using Edius 10 years from now! Great Editor. A lot of improments, but missing two: Layout ajust directly on the reference monitor and a more fluid ui specialy when poping up windows.

Layout adjust on the reference Monitor: Yes, but keep in mind that you need to change your reference monitor if you work on it. Therefore you have a own screen for the Layouter. You can zoom in, be in an area which is outside the visual area, work very excalty in the pixel area, so animations from outside the frame (left to rigth) and so on. I am not sure, that you will like it if GV changes it.
Poping Up windows: EDIUS X will be more powerful and background processing will improve the workflow!

Another great feature (imho) - "recurrent use marker or something like that" - to mark recurrent clips or recurrent parts of clips on timeline - is it possible to add it with new Edius architecture?
Yes, EDIUS X will bring some innovations in this area - through the database structure and extensive metadata handling.
But this will come with EDUS 10.1, so not with the first release of EDIUS X

I'm excited for Edius X but there's something that bothers me. Only users that purchased EDIUS 9 since 13 September 2019 will have acess to EDIUS X for free? I think that the ones that bought Edius 9 on it's early stages should be the ones having the benefit of a free upgrade :/
I've purchased Edius on the same year it launched (decided to wait a little more to give space for bug fixes and a more stable version). In my opinion, loyal customers should be the ones having the full benefit.
Other than that, I'm hyped for EDIUS X, this new version is definitely a game changer.
Dear Pedro, we will try to explain, why the free upgrade regulation is like it is. When EDIUS 9 was released, also a 2 year lifecycle with free updates was announced - like it was with EDIUS 7 and EDIUS 8. So you buy EDIUS and can use it forever, but you will also get free updates within the life cycle of the EDIUS version, which is typically 2 years. So EDIUS 9 was released in September 2017. Customer knew that they will get EDIUS 9 plus all free updates within EDIUS 9.xx (full list, please see: www.edius.net/new_in_edius). But in September 2019 Gras Valley did not release a news version of EDIUS. Because it is EDIUS 10 (EDIUS X) which will come and Grass Valley wanted it to be a really big and powerful new release. But many customers have been waiting for the announcement of EDIUS 10, because the 2 years lifecycle of EDIUS 9 were over.
So Grass Valley decided in September 2019 at IBC to release version 9.50 and many new functions for EDIUS 9 (like Audio Sync), but to continue to work on the big EDIUS X release. Now many customers, who are interested in buying EDIUS would wait to buy EDIUS 10. To avoid that customer will wait to buy EDIUS, Grass Valley started the EDIUS 9 "Plus" Promotion. So everybody, who buys EDIUS 9 after September 13th, 2020, will get EDIUS X for free (not Home Edition or EDU, but all full versions, upgrades and jump upgrades for Pro and Workgroup). Now in September 2020 it is time for the big EDIUS X release and yes, EDIUS 9 customers who bought EDIUS 9 within the regular lifecycle of about 2 years will not get a free Upgrade to EDIUS X, but received an additional year of free updates for EDIUS 9.x and are able to buy EDIUS X at a very fair upgrade price. Especially if you look at the included plug-ins: Titler Pro 7 Upgrade (value of 199$), ProDAD Vitascene V4 EE (249$) and Acon Digital EDIUS Editions (149$) cost together about 600$, and you pay only 199$ for the EDIUS X Upgrade. You will receive EDIUS X with all the new features like background rendering, NVidia H.265 Hardware Encoding and the new Motion Tracker PLUS free EDIUS X support for the lifecycle of EDIUS X AND free EDIUS X Updates for the EDIUS X lifecycle of again about 2 years. And as already said in this video, already EDIUS 10.1 will bring a lot of additional nice new features.
So all in all a fair price to support the development of EDIUS, the software which we all love, correct ? :-)

Yes: Pro and Workgroup, full versions and Upgrades (also Jump Upgrades) and even in the educational licenses.
Wahoo Im so excited! The only thing I don't like about Edius is actually finding the software. I feel like expanding to a bigger audience would be easier if the site was a bit more to the point. All this "select your country" and license jargon is really confusing, even though I live in Texas. I always end up buying it through some 3rd party website which is not a good look. I love the software to death though, so speedy and simple!

Will the exporter be updated? I love Edius (been using it since the first beta ) but it really needs an update to the file exporter to simplify exporting to social media and leveraging the GPU like Adobe does with it's latest version of AME which can use BOTH AMD or Nvidia to greatly improve export speeds for h.265 .
Yes, the export will be updated a lot: Now the export will be done in the background and also Nvidia GPUs can be used for a fast H.265 export: th-cam.com/video/NXsbz43CArs/w-d-xo.html
There will also be a bigger focus on Social Media - like you could already see in this video. Generating presets for projects and export is not complicated, so Grass Valley can surely implement that within a EDIUS 10.x release if many users want that. We think it is a good idea. It is discussed to integrate RIO functions in EDIUS, yes. RIO is now taken care of by the same team like EDIUS.
if i begin a project on one pc will i be able to work on it on the other?
Sure, just open the project file. If the media files are relatvie to the project file, it will automatically find them all, if they are located on different places, you can reconnect them.
Edius is the best but no 360 editing. Any plans?
EDIUS was the first 3D video editor in the market which complete support for all formats and technics, but then suddenly no more was interessted of 3D. With 360 it is a bit the same: it was a hype, but now, there is very little request. If there would be more request, EDIUS will get 360° features - but right now, there is only little interesst.

No, the QuickTitler (for quick and simple titles) will stay in EDIUS X and Titler Pro 7 is added (it replaces Titler Pro 5 which was bundled with EDIUS 9).
By the way: using the new ProDAD Vitascene V4 EDIUS Edition Version will allows you to make a simple Quicktiler look great. You can add light effects and animation with Motion Blur (like seen in the Video - all done with Quicktitler and the new Seamless Transitions. And very fast as the Effects use GPU power.

A chroma keyer is included in EDIUS.
Liking the updated tracking functionality, however I'm concerned that Edius is moving away from 'real time all the time'. I'm guessing that the titler will not be real time? I currently own titler 5 and ended up uninstalling it due to crashes and poor performance.. with the new version being a native plugin I'm hoping it will be vastly improved, but from past experience I'm not too sure that will be the case?
The Motion Tracker and the Seamless Effects are really fast. But for complex Titles realtime is not so easy. But there is a clever new caching technology included which helps. And: As said in the video: Grass Valley and NewBlue have worked hard on a great integration of Titler Pro 7 - we did not have a singla crash or freeze when making the demo video!

Great news! Looks that Edius X will be the best ever produced Edius version ever! I use now Edius 8 EDU version, but will purchase the Edius X EDU. Only one question. In the EDU version, later all Edius X upgrades will be available for download, so for example 10.1, 10.2 and so on? I know EDU cannot be upradedm so i cannot buy an upgrade from Edius 8 to 10, thats clear.
Hello! There is the possibility to upgrade with an "EDIUS X Pro Jump Upgrade" from EDIUS 8 EDU. Then you have a full version which can be used commercially and can be upgraded in the future.

- The old 8 Pro EDU version will be also usable (on an another computer for smaller works for example) or the upgrade is completelly replaces the old version?
- When buying, the student card will be needed or not?
- May i buy the upgrade on a different name as the EDU version was purchased, or the same person name and address is required?
- What differences are between the EDU and the X Pro "Jumped" version? I know that the EDU version cannot be upgraded to the next version (only 10.1 10.2 etc upgrade version can be used, but later, the 11 not)

.. thank you.. we expect color grading in edius X (like adobe cc and some other color grading softaware etc).. in ediuse we can't grade background separate. For example in a wedding video when we edit the groom or bride clip and if we want to grade the background only.. it is imposible in ediuse. If we grade the clip color it will affect bride/groom face. Iam an edius user. I think the background color grading is possible in adobe premier cc.

In fact, it is no problem to grade the background separatly. there are different filters for that: The 3-way color correction is a secondary color correction, where you can select the colors which you want to change. you can also use the chrominance filter. Or the mask filter: simply mark (and track) an area or object or person and chenge it or the background. With soft borders you can even work with light in a nice way. All that ios already possible in EDIUS.

We can create lut with adobe photoshop Cc and import that lut in to ediuse primary color interface.. i ask you that why can't make that lut correction in our primary color correction tools with some more advanced options.. so we want that "advanced options"..
@@ksrafi4109 Yes, creating a Lut in Photoshop or another tools and working wirth that in EIDUS works nicely already. But I understand you want more features for Grading in the future. So yes, there are plans to have more grading features in the future.

It will get exchanged to an EDIUS 9 "Plus" serial which can be used for EDIUS 9 and EDIUS X! Than on September 15th, you only need to download EDIUS X. So no additional costs.

Great that you are a long term Canopus user. EDIUS still is world leading in format support and offers many workflows which other editors simply don't support. Also it is very stable and reliable. So I am sure, you will like it. What version of EDIUS are you using right now? There are inexpansive upgrades available.

In fact, the new Seamless transitions include an audio crossfade.

@@charliebath8397 Sure, just open the project file. If the media files are relatvie to the project file, it will automatically find them all, if they are located on different places, you can reconnect them.

Ja, das stimmt, die Funktion steht schon länger im Raum und wurde durch andere Themen hinten gestellt. Dafür hat man sie nun auch gleich mit dem Anker Modus gebracht, der wahrscheinlich sogar häufiger genutzt wird wie der Verfolgungs-Modus.
