Hey Mike. Just a quicky to say thanks for this: Ive just started a project to transfer ancient cassette tapes to my PC - I used to be a pro guitarist in the 70's and have loads of jams and demos etc recorded on cassettes mostly over-modulated. These AI plugins should allow me to clean up the sounds considerably. Research needed, much thanks :-)
Thanks for posting this. You made a mistake when using Audacity's built in noise suppression. You should not select a part of the recording that includes your actual recording. That confuses noise suppression. You should select a blank section that only includes the background noise that you want to eliminate. In fact, it's recommended that you purposely record just the background noise for 15 seconds or so at the beginning or end of your recording for that purpose. One more thing: You don't have to drag and drop the effects you describe. That's all done automatically now. I did it last night. But you do have to enable the effects as you showed. Thanks again. Audacityhas seen great improvements lately.
Thank you for the valuable feedback and tips on using Audacity's noise suppression feature - I'll make sure to incorporate your suggestions in future tutorials!
I'm excited to try it out on a bunch of live concerts I've been recording & collecting for over 40 years now and some of them have a lot of noise from the tape sources and the number of generations that I would love to clean up the excessive crowd noise if at all possible. We'll see!
Let us know the results of your tests! Clearly it's not the state of the art of noise canceling, now. But give it a few years, and I bet the results will be far more advanced, considering how fast AI updates/improvements are.
That sounds like an incredible collection! I'm sure these AI audio tools will help you restore and enhance those live concert recordings with ease. Can't wait to hear the results!
Kenny should write a book called, "How To Ruin Your NFL QB Career By Age 25" Step 1: When given the opportunity to start for over a year, be god awful. Step 2: Get injured a lot by taking stupid physical risks so a backup can take your place. Step 3: When the backup plays better and gets QB1, refuse to suit up as his backup. Step 4: When an aging vet is brought in that you can learn from and replace soon, demand a trade. Step 5: Once traded, talk smack on the team that just traded you. Step 6: Ride the pine potentially forever behind a QB the same age as you that's way better. Well done Kenny. You pulled off completely destroying your reputation, value, and career, by age 25.

Thank you for your positive feedback! It's great to hear that my tutorial on free AI audio tools has inspired creativity and appreciation for the work of Audacity and Intel.
I installed these and tried the music generator and it was pretty bad but more problematic was that Audacity completely stopped recognizing any imported audio whatsoever - wav, mp3, even those made in Audacity itself. I had to uninstall both OpenVino and Audacity to restore this functionality which is unfortunate, because the noise removal and stem separation sound like really useful tools.
hi Mike, I loved this video and came back ! did anyone ever told you that your voice is amazing for radio??? I am looking for an app to make music from scratch but with my Mac computer, no with real instruments, is there something like that ? Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! For creating music from scratch on your Mac without real instruments, I recommend checking out GarageBand or Ableton Live - both are great options for music production.
video suggestion: i have been informed that batch processing is already available with Audacity. It is in Tools->Macro Manager. I would sure like to see you do a video that shows exactly how to use this facility to batch process several audio .mp3 files with OpenVINO Noise Suppression followed up with OpenVINO Whisper Transcription of these same files. apparently in Macro Manager you can program your batch process to first do noise suppression followed by transcription then export: 1,2,3. Love to see your video of this. thanks.
@@MikeRussell Yes. I'm afraid it is. Until then, I have come up with a work-around. i will merge many .mp3 files then just transcribe this multi-merged .mp3 file. I've tried it merging 10 .mp3 files and it worked perfectly. I will now go up to 200 .mp3 files. this should get me through my 10,000+ memo .mp3 files in a reasonable amount of time. Audacity 3.4.2 already can merge multiple .mp3 files. you don't need to download and install anything else whatsoever. this pretty much ends this thread. cheers.
It's a great tool for the right use. I.e. a bad worker blames the tools without knowing which are the right tools to start with. Creating jingles and maybe some music tracks for youtube. The tracks give a guide to what can be done.
AI Music brings a lot of background music. Writing a song that reaches people's hearts and becomes the soundtrack to life is a very special task. But, AI can be very helpful in the production. And I'm waiting for an audio to MIDI converter that works really cleanly.
I am midway through the video and thought I would request you to please change the title and thumbnail of your video to include Audacity and AI, even though you have received 260k video, I almost skipped it, because the TN and Title aren't attractive enough. I don't want others to miss this extremely important video - thank you so much for making it.
Hi that was incredible thanks, what would you suggest for enhancing really poor quality barely audible vocal whispers with lots of background noise. I heard a telephone effect may bring the vocals out and reduce the noise if so which software will have a telephone effect. Thanks brilliant review.
I would increase your attack time of your compressor to 50 ms, as well as release time. You might want to lower compression rate to 1:1,25 or 1:1,4 + lower the threshold way lower like -38 db. add a brickwall limiter to your taste. EQ lowcut male to 140 Hz, female to 160 Hz. Now the magic: add a parametric EW at 50 Hz, set to +7 db with a medium to a lean Q. There you have a pro setting. Aim is to lower your pumping of the transients of your Moderation audio signal. Cheers…✌️🙋♂️
I'm glad you found the new AI audio tools intriguing! If you've been using Audacity for a while, these tools could definitely enhance your recording experience even more.
Just used this with Chordify to separate and mute the voice and original track to make backing tracks. By lowering the volume on the instrument track and saving to an mp3 after a five minute conversion on my favorite pieces, I now have a great jamming track for my guitar. By looking at the muted voice track, I am able to sync perfectly with the music. I am using a 200 dollar Beelink Mini S with an N95 12th gen and 8 G DDR4. Note - the Intel CPU must have AVX2 in the specs otherwise you get a load dll error.
That's fantastic to hear how you're leveraging these tools for creating awesome backing tracks - it's amazing what can be achieved with the right technology and a creative approach!
I'm excited to hear that you're eager for the Mac version, stay tuned for future updates and tutorials on how to utilize these AI audio tools on your Mac platform!
I’d love for Ai to make cutting easier. I’m pretty confident and would say I am an expert at cutting(slicing/editing) a audio (song) track… been doing it for 20+ years. But I’d love for Ai to jump in and see if the editing/cutting process can be easier and better!

Is there one that will split off tracks for each different voice when there are multiple speakers? That could be a help if you want to suppress background speech to make a particular speaker easier to hear, or if the levels for each speaker varied too much in the original recording.
Yes, there are AI tools like Descript and Cleanfeed that can help with splitting tracks for different voices, allowing you to enhance specific speakers and manage varying levels in multi-speaker recordings effectively.
Is there any AI out there (standalone or as an Audacity plugin) that can transcribe an MP3 file to actual note-for-note sheet music (or guitar tablature)? In particular, I'm interested in a solo acoustic guitar with all other voices/instruments already filtered out to capture the notes more accurately for transcription.
Yes, there are AI tools like AnthemScore that can help transcribe MP3 files to sheet music, allowing you to focus on solo acoustic guitar notes with minimal interference from other instruments.
Hi Mike, great show. In a short while these tools will be better, but will the music be better? The source material Martin uses has frenetic qualities, but does it have vitality? The listener will have to decide, but will it be enough to engage Life? The soul will keep searching for it.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I can certainly see music generation getting better with time. Just look at what a tool like Suno can already do!
Oh, interesting. The OpenVino plugin for Audacity is only for Windows machines. I hope someone will notify me when it's available for Macs with silicon chips. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the podcasting world Mike!
One technique we can use for AI upscaling video is to run multiple passes through different AI models and then blend then all back with a small amount of the original source so it doesn't look artificial. I would imagine this could work with audio too.
That's a great idea! Experimenting with multiple AI models and blending with the original source can definitely be a technique worth exploring for audio upscaling as well.

Hey, I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Excited for you to rescue those vintage recordings and bring them back to life with AI magic!
Loved the superfast express installation cut edit at about 1:15 ! :)
Thank you so much for noticing that quick cut edit at 1:15, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for your suggestion, and even your english accent. I understood you perfectly.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you found the video helpful and enjoyed my English accent!

Kenny should write a book called, "How To Ruin Your NFL QB Career By Age 25"
Step 1: When given the opportunity to start for over a year, be god awful.
Thanks.
Really nice thanks, I will mostly need it to improve rehearsal recordings with my band, make vocals louder, or cancel them out to re-record them
I'm glad you found the video helpful! You can definitely use AI audio tools to enhance your rehearsal recordings, boost vocals, and remove them for re-recording - they're so versatile!
The shift towards local processing of AI audio tools is groundbreaking, especially for privacy and accessibility. Can you discuss the computational efficiency of these tools, especially regarding CPU vs. GPU processing? How do they manage to minimize latency and maintain performance, particularly for the more complex tasks like music generation and vocal transcription?news subscriber here
Absolutely, local AI rocks!
The revolution is ongoing .... The best IA integration in a software by far...
Absolutely, you are right!
Thanks for sharing this plugins! Kudos to the devs of Audacity!
I'm glad you found the plugins helpful! And yes, huge kudos to the amazing developers behind Audacity!
This is aweome I create animated music videos and use the program ALOT and did not know this. Thank you ❤ definitivt worth a like and a sub
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that the video helped you out. Your support means a lot to me, and I'm excited to see what amazing animated music videos you create!
Oh my wonderful word! Thank you for bringing the exciting news! I really like the novel beats that AI generates in your video. AI has a much easier time creating intricate polyrhythms. I can't wait to see how performances and preformed music will both continue to evolve with this technology which allows many more people much greater access to music production.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and are excited about the possibilities!
Thanks for the video, very cool tools, I tried the vocal/instrumental separation, and it works very well (only in CPU mode for me).
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found the vocal/instrumental separation tool helpful, even in CPU mode!
same. CPU mode only with Audacity 3.6.1 and audacity-win-v3.6.1-R3.1-64bit-OpenVINO-AI-Plugins.exe a of AUG-6-2024
Good to see Audacity still around after 2 decades, I moved away from using it though as I required more in an audio editing app for my studio setup.
Good video.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found Audacity familiar!
I appreciate your work on this video.
Wow! This is quite the find! I'll be utilizing these tools, for sure! Thanks for the vid, Mike! VERY informative!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm thrilled you found the video informative and hope these AI audio tools take your projects to the next level!
Thank you for this video and share with us your experience and a lot of information. Personally, I started using and applying this magical plugin.
Thank you so much for watching and exploring the world of AI audio tools with me.
Thanks for adding actual captions for the Deaf - good tools for removing background noise.
I'm glad you found the captions helpful, and I'm thrilled to hear that the background noise removal tools were useful for you!
I am very excited about the noise reduction AI. That would save me a lot of time. I hope these tools end up in MacOs one day.
I'm glad you're excited about the noise reduction AI tool! Hopefully, they make their way to MacOS soon.
Daammmn... now this is not the click bait thumbnail. Thanks
Haha, right? No tricks here, just good vibes! Thanks for watching!
Happy I can still play the guitar better than that AI. But the audio division tool is AWESOME - and also the transcribe tool. Hope this comes inhouse to ableton live as well!
That's great to hear you found the AI audio tools useful! Hopefully, Ableton Live incorporates them in the future for even more creative possibilities.
I was talking to a few friends about AI. I said being afraid of what you don't understand is very counter productive! AI is here to stay and not using it is to your peril!
Absolutely! Embracing AI in audio tools can definitely enhance your production workflow.
thank you very much Mike! I`ve tested with Bulgarian Language and it works perfect! Great advice.
I'm thrilled to hear that the AI audio tools worked flawlessly with Bulgarian language for you - happy creating!
Tanks for this video.
I'm using a lot AI for image generation (and some animations) but was totally noob with using AI in audio.
I'm glad you found the video helpful in exploring AI tools for audio production - there's so much you can do with them!
To make my "instrumental/karaoke" tracks out of my music tracks, I had to go online so far... but now I can do it offline! 😁 Also I used HappyScribe to transcript audio, which is obviously more advanced, but this plugin does a pretty good job! Thanks Mike & the guys around this Audacity AI tools project! 👏🏻
That's awesome to hear!
Hello Mike..... Truly appreciated you knowledge.... People hardly share these type of knowhow....Can do wonders with my audio henceforth....infinite possibilities ..............

Thank you so much for your kind words.
Thank you for this video Mike. I use audacity for all my sampling and this made it GOLDEN.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful in elevating your Audacity sampling game!
Love it! Isn’t it best part of the day?!

The stems plugin for use with Udio and Suno are a godsend.
I'm glad you're enjoying the Stems plugin with Udio and Suno - it really does make a difference!
Amazing to see what's possible now! And who knows what's just around the corner?....Exciting stuff!
Absolutely, Will. Good stuff!
question>>>>> When you ask the AI to create music generation who owns the copyright? The AI Company, the person who writes in the text prompts, or the first person to take it to the copyright office?
When you ask the AI to create music generation, who owns the copyright? Good question that is not fully answered yet.
Superb Mike. Thanks, a great learning experience & new toys.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the video and found value in discovering new audio tools - happy creating!
Impressive, yeah I can see this as a major plus to creativity. Well done the folks at Audacity and Intel.🙏👍😎
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the AI tools.
Really blown away, especially since Audacity has been a favorite sound editor for years. Subbed!
Thank you for your kind words! It's great to hear that you found value in the video and have subscribed.
This is informative and very nice video, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
hi Mike, I loved this video and came back ! did anyone ever told you that your voice is amazing for radio??? I am looking for an app to make music from scratch but with my Mac computer, no with real instruments, is there something like that ? Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! For creating music from scratch on your Mac without real instruments, I recommend checking out GarageBand or Ableton Live - both are great options for music production.
@@MikeRussell that's very kind of you my Radio man! :)
This is really awesome, Mike. Will test it out asap.
I'm glad you found it helpful! Let me know how it goes when you try them out.
video suggestion: i have been informed that batch processing is already available with Audacity. Love to see your video of this. thanks.
Batch processing with Audacity? Sounds like a job for the audio wizards!
Audacity 3.4.2 already can merge multiple .mp3 files. you don't need to download and install anything else whatsoever. this pretty much ends this thread. cheers.
thanks for sharing this info. Is there a link for these plugins for mac?
Glad you found the information helpful! PC only I’m afraid.
It's a great tool for the right use. I.e. a bad worker blames the tools without knowing which are the right tools to start with. Creating jingles and maybe some music tracks for youtube. The tracks give a guide to what can be done.
Absolutely!
AI Music brings a lot of background music. Writing a song that reaches people's hearts and becomes the soundtrack to life is a very special task.
But, AI can be very helpful in the production. And I'm waiting for an audio to MIDI converter that works really cleanly.
Absolutely, stock music is replaced by AI. Crafting something to hit the heart is still a human directed skill right now.
Neat. Should've compared the stem extraction to LALAL, though.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely consider including a comparison to LALAL in future videos.
I am midway through the video and thought I would request you to please change the title and thumbnail of your video to include Audacity and AI, even though you have received 260k video, I almost skipped it, because the TN and Title aren't attractive enough. I don't want others to miss this extremely important video - thank you so much for making it.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Hi that was incredible thanks, what would you suggest for enhancing really poor quality barely audible vocal whispers with lots of background noise. I heard a telephone effect may bring the vocals out and reduce the noise if so which software will have a telephone effect.
Thanks brilliant review.
Thanks for your comment! For enhancing poor quality whispers you may want to try a compressor.
Thank you for the detailed compressor and EQ settings suggestions, I appreciate the feedback!
@@MikeRussell Welcome...
Great video, thanks. Is this available on Mac as well as Windows?
It’s PC only for these tools.
Good press recording will be using I've been using audacity for a long time I'm very happy about your display of the new AI stuff
That's awesome to hear how you're creatively using these tools to enhance your guitar jam sessions! Enjoy the music making process with your setup!
That's fantastic to hear how you're leveraging these tools for creating awesome backing tracks - it's amazing what can be achieved with the right technology and a creative approach!
Cannot wait for the Mac version.
Absolutely, AI tools can definitely streamline and enhance the audio editing process, even for seasoned experts like yourself, making cutting and slicing audio tracks more efficient and precise than ever before!
Yes, thank you very very very mutch! I would say that was a one hundred percent hit and a lot of luck, but from now on I'll celebrate you. I think you did great, thank you for the info, have fun. And that fits in so well because I was just looking for exactly that and thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words and enthusiasm!
Thanks a lot for you & also Audacity team for....

Loving it, thanks to SunoAI we never have to buy music for our products again
I'm thrilled to hear that SunoAI is helping you with your music needs - keep exploring those AI tools!
Thanks for this Video, I used the vocal seperation with a clasic pice of "Amor ti vieta"💥 and it worked perfectly to hear only the voice of the singer in his nature sound. Its really mind blowing.!!!
I'm so glad to hear that the vocal separation tool helped you isolate the singer's voice in "Amor ti vieta" - it's incredible how technology can enhance our listening experience!🎶
Thanks for the video 👍
I've some music recordings played by an old cassette player with the typical cassette sound quality.
Do you know any AI free tool to "remaster" the sound?
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! For remastering old cassette recordings, I recommend trying out tools like iZotope's Vinyl or Auphonic, which offer AI-driven audio restoration features to enhance and clean up vintage audio quality for free. Good luck with your remastering project!
Nice video to discover that Audacity still has teeth. I got all excited and downloaded it, then went looking for the ai plugins for mac... to find they're not ready yet. Would be nice if you can add that to the start of the video somehow so other macheads don't get the let down after going through the motions of installation.
Thank you for the feedback! I'll make sure to mention the availability of AI plugins for Mac users at the beginning of future videos to avoid any letdowns.
Thank you so much for this video. I use Audacity and will find these tools very useful for my next Elvis Concert that I want to put together.
You're welcome!
@@MikeRussell Hi Mike. Unfortunately I'm getting an error with a DLL when i restart Audacity...🤬

I'm thrilled to hear you found the video helpful for your next Elvis concert in Audacity! Enjoy experimenting with the free AI audio tools!
Wow wow wow. VERY useful. I hope that someone can create a plugin to create midi files, too.
I'm glad you found the video useful!
Unfortunately, as of now, there isn't an AI tool that can transcribe an MP3 file to note-for-note sheet music that I know.
This is amazing Mike. Thank you so much for this vid tutorial. Super helpful.
Thank you for watching! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the tutorial helpful, stay tuned for more content like this!
@@MikeRussell Just tried out Suno. Very Cool Mike! You get to make 10 FREE songs per day. What other AI site have you found ?

Oh, interesting. The OpenVino plugin for Audacity is only for Windows machines. I hope someone will notify me when it's available for Macs with silicon chips. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the podcasting world Mike!
I'll definitely keep an eye out for a Mac-compatible version and update everyone when it's available!
@@MikeRussell I think so. It could result in audio that sounds more natural and organic, while at the same time also sounding clean.
