The only thing original is the shell. The entire drivetrain (engine/transmission/axle/suspension) is Firebird and S10 pickup. It is plenty strong. Six months after this video I blew up the 305, and built a mild 350 for it. It is actually very easy to drive.
@@GregWellwood My first love... I mean, automobile was a Pontiac Firefly. Still the best vehicle I ever had even with a crack tranny and bad clutch. Drives so smooth and forgiving. No idea how to drop a V8 into one but for-sure the best sleeper ever.

Is it a Chevy 305 V8 in it.
It did at this point. But it later spun a bearing. I then built a mild 350 for it.
