Great seeing all these shots in action. I've only been able to use one of them, due to lack of time, but seeing these in action makes me want to go out and use them all. Thank you, man.
I have pretty much forgotten to use them anymore. However, there are times when I want create a reveal shot with my wife and I in the shot and these would be great to use. Thanks for the reminder.
Your tips rock! Sometimes little snippets from a quick shot is enough. I would like to see Cable cam where you establish a route and then manually control the drone on preprogrammed path. The Mini 4 Pro is a beast! It’s perfect for travel.
I just learned this after 3 months of flying thanks to your videos! I did order the ultimate drone moves cheat sheets i am anxious for it's arrival already :) USPS so slowwwww....
I agree Darren, we need new quickshots and such. Mastershots came out and it was great, but we need MORE. However, MY SUGGESTION would be to allow us to create our own quickshots.
@DMProductions I think mastershots was good the first times I used it. Then it is always the same thing so it gets old. Of the quickshots I think I never use the circle anymore. The rocket I use rarely, but the helix and spiral and drone I use often. I think you use them less as you advance in piloting skills. I need more creative shots to keep viewers interested. I have been doing the opposite if rocket, going up with the gimbal aimed up. It looks cool.
@@DMProductions hi Darren, good cruise but back to sad news. My brother threw himself out of his bedroom window and is critically ill in James cook hospital. They don’t think he will make it as he has a cracked skull air on the brain, broken ribs, punctured lungs, broken back, tomorrow could be a very sad day. It’s all to do with when he was in the army. Speak soon my friend 🙏🙏❤️
another idea for postproduction: use ASTROID in post, cut it where the window starts 'closing'. make a copy of it. place the two astroids on the timeline. reverse the second one on post. by playing you get the 'ball' forming and thereafter unfolding again. gives an awsome scene.
I’ve tried most all of them, and have been very satisfied. Now that I think of it, are there any others that do this? I have a Mini 3, and an Avata 2. This is why my Mini 4 Pro stands alone with me on these awesome features. Now I gotta find some places like you have here! Thanks!
@DMProductions Great review!! I'll be used Quickshots in some of my footage, it makes for more interesting and dramatic epic shots. At least to have one or a few in there somewhere in a film. Thanks for covering all of them 👍🏾
Very well explained. Q: if I use any option from the QuickShot and mark the subject/point of interest, can the subject move or it has to be stable in one place? Meaning if I do Helix with me as subject, can I be running distance of lets say 50meters and the drone follows my position, or I have to stay at the place? Thanks in advance for your answer
Awesome video. Does anyone know how to exit out of quick shot mode while in flight? I just want to go back to shooting a normal video after using quick or master shots.
Good stuff. Quick question. When you hit ‘Go’, does it start the recording automatically? And if so, does the recording stop automatically when the quick shot is done?
Most quick shots usually fall apart rather quickly once the subject itself is moving because the camera movements the drone does are usually jerky. This is why I like to mostly fly my shots manually or program waypoints, if I got the extra minute (its not like this takes very long). I am not sure about how it is now, but I also do some projects for german broadcasters, who stick to the PAL standard, which means I have to shoot in 50i as my framerate. Since i isnt avaliable on any of these drones the usual procedure is to stick to 50p. At least in the past the quick shots used to be stuck to either 30p or 60p, which obviously wont work for my broadcast customers projects. Technically not even in the NTSC areas because they are at 59.94i, while TH-cam is technically any framerate but most prominently either 30p or 60p. Hollywood films are stuck to 23.976p and other cinema projects are stuck to 24p. So if you are extra strict you either rely on interpolating the framerate, which works fine in Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve if you have access to the footage as recorded on the card but many broadcast studios rely on a process called "ingesting" since the camera man usually doesnt edit the footage himself but somebody else does in most of these projects. The the process of ingesting it to the studios server it gets converted to 1080i50, 50MBit/s CBR, MPEG-2, 4:2:2 no matter what you recorded. You may have recorded 5.4k@120p. The Ingester will make it 1080i50. Thats why getting slomo on television requires the editor to have access to the source footage - looks better anyway but its just not the way things are usually being done. Another thing that also matters is that many studios still use AVID as their main editing software - which is generally fine because it is ergonomically speaking quicker to edit stuff in it, if you are good at it than premiere, but you will miss out on most effects and it is also rather tricky to work with mixed footage, where one clip is in 50p, the other 60p, some in 4k, other in UHD and other in FHD or whatever, which is why converting everything to 1080i50 is so important to them.
Great and informative post as usual. Seeing it reminded me to ask you: is there a stylus I can use on my RC2 controller rather than my clunky fingers. I was out doing some waypoint flying on the weekend and it would have been soooo much less frustrating and easier if I had a stylus. What do you think? I have an Apple Pencil USBC, but this does not seem to work
Hello, I have an interesting question. I am a Drummer. I make multicam videos of me playing Drums. My question is can I make any quick shot or perhaps make a waypoint mission that will circle me as I play drums above me and/or bring it lower with a radius that circles me ? Can I also control the speed it’s circling me as well. I would then later edit it into my video as an angle to go to. Does the Avata 2 have these features as well so I can do this indoors? Thanks VERY MUCH.
?HEY MATE? Quick AUDIO MIXING thing here... !!! DId you mean to record your voice over with so much bass? i gotta take my bass out almost completely to get a level tone lol!!!!
Seems like it needs to much work to get started, especially if you compare them with a drone like the Neo that’s more than half cheaper than the mini pro. And than you are standing there with a controller in your hand, nice shot 😂 DJI should make it easier to create these quickshots with the Mini Pro.
I used to use quick shots on the mini 3, then it fell out the sky whilst doing one. DJI replaced it no problem but with no explanation, the fact they replaced it so easy, with no questions ( per se ) with no explanation tells me an awful lot. I’ve since had the 3 Pro & now 4 Pro and I refuse to ever use anything except manual flight.
I don't normally chime in, but here's my input on quickshots. DJI really needs to add Dolly Zoom to the quickshots menu!!! What do y'all think about that?
@@DMProductions No in one year the drone will not be allowed to fly. I’m guessing it would have to be retro fitted with some American tech. Quick shots still don't do well so many times too. Then you're farting around getting mediocre shots when you can fly manually and nail it and actually know how to fly.

Yeah all the cinematic drones can do this but the air 3, mini 4 pro and Mavic 3 are the best as they have full obstacle avoidance when flying sideways

Nope it’s more for static subjects, you can move slightly but if you move too much it can loose you
