  • I've been dealing with knee issues now for about 13 years and at the end of last year I received some new news about my knees. It's frustrating, but hey, at the end of the day, I have knees and I'm grateful for that.

    The right kind of exercise can be so powerful for relief. Feeling confidence in movement again is when I find people are the most successful. I’m a physical therapist who specializes in osteoarthritis and have tons of ideas on my channel!

    Having a flare up today, hearing other people talk about the struggle is the only thing that’s keeping me sane right now

    i found your channel because i tore both of my tfcc on each wrist from 7 years of cycling and developed cyclist palsy. ( i watched your ergon grips video, gonna try these out when I heal enough to try riding again) been on the sidelines, scared i wont fully recover to cycle again (im 26) after havnig an issue with my knee around 19, i quit runnning and took up mountain biking, my true passion. i have been scared i may have an underlying condition. seeing this video made me feels so much less alone, especially still seeing you are riding. thank you for sharing.

    I'm so glad I found this video. I am 27 and after a CT scan following an injury, I was just last night diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my neck. I also have had runner's knee in both knees since September, but no arthritis in them according to an x ray. I've been doing physical therapy for them since the diagnosis in September without much improvement but I could definitely be doing more. Anyway it is definitely lonely to get the osteo diagnosis so young, but other people like us are out there. I have never been as athletic, I think mine is caused by my hypermobility. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish you luck in finding something that helps your knees.

      I'm so sorry to hear about your neck. :( I have a friend that has a similar issue and started getting injections in her neck. She said it has helped her some. Not sure what type of injection exactly though.
      It's nice to know I'm not the only young person too. I just recently saw another orthopedic while I've been visiting back home and have since completed 3 treatments of the hyaluronic acid injections in both knees. I am slowly starting to see a difference, which is promising! They also put me back in physical therapy, but unlike the last time I was in physical therapy only doing stretches, this time they are focusing on strengthening my core and glutes. Hoping it helps this time! Wanted to share that update though, incase it might be helpful for you!

    I grew up playing soccer as well. I am thirty now and I still get with the guys and do pick up soccer at the park every weekend. I definitely feel it in my legs now too- knees and ankles as well. I wake up with soreness in my joints. Even on off days. But it’s so hard to give it up. Picking up MTB has been a good alternative. Knees and joints still sore after riding but it’s not as painful as soccer. Hope you get well soon!

      Oh soccer! That's great you still play! Whenever I pass a soccer field I always just want to get out there and kick a ball around!

    Morgan, hope you find the answers & relief to those symptoms you described! If you have loose bodies in your knees to clean out, I would recommend getting that done because that can really cause more wear & tear as well as worsen the symptoms you seem to have. That can be done Arthroscopic & as an outpatient procedure. I miss your Mountain Biking videos as they were cool to watch as well as informative. God Bless you & I’m praying you get some effective relief soon. Take Care👍😎

      Thank you! That's a good point. It's definitely something I might consider at some point. I will definitely get back into making mountain bike videos! I love making them, so I've missed it!

    Hi Morgan, I had a pain in my left knee for ages and Glucosamine Sulphate helped me. I hope you get it sorted, pain sucks full stop.

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! I bought Glucosamine not too long ago, because I've heard many swear by it. Just have to get in the habit of taking it on the daily now! I'm terrible with pills lol. 😩

    I was wondering why to haven't post a video in a bit. I also have bad knees... since HS football and wrestling I'm now 47 yikes lol. Biking helped me allot. I fear for my older age when I can't ride anymore.

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I'm afraid of too for when I get a little older, knowing I can only ride a certain distance before my knee start really giving out. Hopefully it doesn't get there for you though!

    Hi Morgan .. sad to hear this .. i had an injury on my knees during soccer days .. as young college boy.. but had left sports for 3 years and then came back with recovered with giving importance on playing slow and easy
    Now i had issue when sitting too long but coming back to biking made my knees strong.
    Try indian Medical field called Ayurveda in India for consultation and treatment ..maybe it could be of help
    By the way hows your new Ergon grip ? Iam using the same ? And what gloves and saddle are using ?
    Go it easy and iam sure you can come withe good recovery once treatments are given.. Cheers

    • @MorganBishopp
      @MorganBishopp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always tell people that biking does wonders for your knees! Thanks for letting me know about that, I will have to look into it!
      The Ergon grips have been wonderful! I haven't had any issues with my hands since I installed them! For gloves I have Fox Racing Ripley gloves. My favorite pair I have owned though would have to be Pearl Izumi, because it had a gel padding. For the saddle, surprisingly I'm still using the one that originally came with the bike. Thought it would be very uncomfortable, but it's worked out pretty well. Thinking about putting an Ergon saddle on though at some point!

    What about swimming, laps in the water for a workout? I know a woman who prefers that. I never asked her why she prefers laps. We have gone hiking together a couple of times. Take care...
