I've done a few of these and honestly the cost to try and do them consistently got me looking into a small, affordable space I can rent out and do shows (and other creative things) whenever.
Where are you at? Maybe we could work together on that. or if not at least could be useful to give information back & forth since im in the early stages or building an event company (handful of events under the belt)
Renting out a venue is such a scam The bar or room charges an average of 2000$ here in Saskatchewan Canada to rent a venue for an evening and then you have to pay any of their staff working the event when it would be a dead night anyway GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. If the venue owners tries to pull the “shake and some talk is good enough” No. It’s not. Get everything in writing. My band is about to go on its first tour in a few weeks and our album is selling well and we learned a lot of lessons the hard way.
Yoo, dope content. Our Label is in kenya and we steady creating our music and following, sounds like a plan: touring is definitely about actionable planning.
Do you think it can be including Australia and other countries too? Sorry I’m looking at coming to usa. We will see if it happens but I live in Australia.
Hi, I love the concept of your app. I suspect I will need to move to the US one day. I live in Western Australia, so the internet is my best way of building an audience. We have one city and the rest are country towns with small populations and hours apart. Do you have any advice for someone in my situation. Also, I am 17. Kind Regards, Bailey
Try to get in contact with people in your city/town. Play your music for people locally and try to be the face of those small towns. Online promo is great but with so much competition, it's hard to stand out today. Would love to see you in the US, but build something where you are today and see where it takes you.
It is possible, really depends on the music scene out there and if you can get shows when your just starting out. When I got started, promoters wouldn't put me on and I had to just front the money for a venue. It was a big risk but it paid off for me long term. Keep the job so you can use the money to keep moving your music career forward until you can afford to quit.
This is my exact point lol. Artists are able to live off music with 2000 to 4000 fans. In the 5 starts I tour I'm able to put 200 to 1000 in a venue. However all the income becomes mine vs the label. Labels make people famous and those are the artists you know of. However, go see how many of them stay doing shows past 10 years and how many of them have been shelved. Less than 1% running the famous route will survive.
I had been touring for years, at first it was a van pulling a 20’ trailer and later it was a RV pulling same trailer,,, the last year i toured was 2010,,, gas at that time was approx $3.00 per gallon.. It cost me $18,000.00 -$22,000.00 per month for fuel, hotel rooms, band salaries and repairs, not including office expenses.. It would cost approx a $1.00 per mile in fuel,, every 90 minutes we refueled half the tank which on average was $150.00 for 150 miles, every 90 minutes. An 8 hour one way drive was roughly $480.00 in 2010,,, so round trip was $960.00. Not including hotels .... Unless your gig is bringing a few thousand dollars,,, youll be paying out of pocket.. If you have little or no gear, and no band and drive solo or duo in a good reliable economy car,, it might pay off. But if you go 8 hours each way, at some point you'll really need a hotel,, if not, you and your band mates will be miserable and its not healthy. Van touring starts to get old and suck real fast, a roomy RV is much better, but unless you can afford a new one,, good luck, cause my used one with only 16,000 miles still broke down almost every tour, or the trailor or both and thats a nightmare,,, missed shows, extra hotel rooms waiting for repair and very deporessing for all involved and crazy expences. One tour cost me $12,000.00 in vehicle and equipment repairs, plus lost contracted shows cause we were standard. At one point the entire band was being towed backwards through the mountains by the nearest mechanics two truck and then had to find rooms. Stranded for days. Its not fun.
I feel you fam. The fan life can get crazy, I even had a tour van with my face on it at one point. But during the majority of my touring I was able to capitalize on most of the stops closer than 8 hours each way. It's still tough but Qoncert is trying to make touring easier than in the past.
I used to buy out the venue and do my own shows too. I’m looking for new ways to produce my own events
That's dope!

The next states are based on artist interest.

Yea, but it depends on the amount you’ll willing to spend for a successful tour
