  • INFP or 'The Healer' personality is Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling & Perceiving type. Often described as quiet, imaginative, idealistic, open-minded & optimistic, INFPs are always looking for a hint of good in people, events, and life. They live for joy & care for all things pertaining to the human soul.

As an INFP, I don't know if INFPs truly want to be understood. We have contradictions in that on one hand, we think we want to be understood but we wouldn't believe someone if they said they understand us completely, on the other hand, we don't want to be fully understood because it would mean the specialness and uniqueness isn't that unique if people are able to actually understand us. We are complex beings, we are!!

In past situations, I would sit down and talk to someone about my feelings without giving analogies or stories. This results in "I don't understand what you are saying" and then I just feel like bleh.

As an INFP, people always share their whole biographies and automatically trust me. Strangers become very surprised to find someone that genuely listens and helps. The other day, a woman was very lost, she couldn't find the bus station, and I literally walked with her for twenty minutes and then bought her a ticket. I would do this forever. I love helping and I hate the idea of imagining someone lost and cold in the middle of the street. But, BUT, as I can be the healer, I can be also the harmful. And this is what I hate about me. I'm veery patient, but I don't say when something bothers me. I bottle up everything, and I explode. When I explode, I wake up all your demons. And you are scared. And trust is totally gone.

I just learned we are called INFP’s. I just thought I was a weirdo. It’s like I’m an emotional trauma magnet, even wound up with abused animals over the years. Like the Robin Hood of emotional misfits lol. How many times have people told me that looking at my eyes they feel as if I can see straight into their soul, and I can. It’s not as if I’m trying to, it just happens. People tend to cling to me, as if I can fix it, whatever they need fixing. My entire family and every one I know comes to me when they have tragic issues. Yes Im known to be able to always figure out a way but only because I never panic I just sit back and study the situation from all aspects knowing there is a solution you just have to find it. Therefore I tend to be reclusive living way way out in the country with my horses and animals. When we love someone death can’t even get in the way of us protecting them, and when we are “ done” with someone, we are “ done” period. We may forgive, but they will never be in our bubble again. The hard part is there seems to be extremely few on this earth I can reach out too. Tis a bit lonely.

I think INFPs does not believe in RED TAGS on people. This is what makes us so unique 🤗 We tend to understand what are the most essential things in life. Even if we can’t understand ourselves sometimes. But I also think that if we have understood our lives even more, we will be able to help our inner soul in the most incredible and wonderful way ✨

People always think it's impossible for me to seriously not care about "keeping up with the Joneses', or having the newest/best whatever. When someone has known me for many years, they're often like, "Dang, I thought it was impossible for a person to value spiritual matters and relationships SO much over anything material, but now I see, you really are like that! Ya weirdo! Haha".

Not too sure what you're getting at, but yes, I've had at least 3 friends I can think of who have told me this nearly word for word. My husband has also told me he didn't realize it was possible for someone to love others so purely, and to be so disinterested in material things. I just thought it was nice to have finally found some people I could identify with (it sounds like all INFPs pretty much have this personality).

I have an INFP in my classroom. I think that as an INFP myself, I've never met another one. I'm not attracted to him romantically, but I feel so... I don't even know... powerful, energized and energetically "clean" after talking to him. I feel truly inspired. And then I meditate: "do others feel the same after talking to me? Is it that satisfying?" and I love me and I love him. I don't know how to express it. It's a really soft love I feel for him. We're friends but not best friends, we don't even talk that much, but when we talk, I feel something that I can't experience with anyone else. It's not admiration, it's not romantic attraction, it's not obsession. It's just inspiration, calmness and spirituallity.

I am gonna always check these comments❤

Well.. um.. am I still an INFP if I wanna be rich and have things? Like Channel or a big house and all that stuff? Also, is that selfish? And ofc, i dun really think that material is all there is. I just like to have stuff because the things I want are nice and like.. um..idk.

I mean, as an infp I think it is a little selfish because why have a big house for yourself, when it could house a family, while there are so many living on the streets... it just feels wrong I guess. the thousands you spend for a little bag you could change a homeless persons life. In my eyes there’s an appropriate limit to how much money should be spent on things. Like doc martins are usually 100$.. and to me are worth it because you can get YEARS out of those boots! 2000$ for a bag?? I dunno, that could pay someone’s monthly rent honestly, and for what, a designer name? If that name wasn’t on the bag.. would you even want it anymore? What’s the point?

It is very INFP to surround yourself with a comfortable things!!! I am sure that you like to have all those toys for their usefulness sake more than of the status that they give to you. It is lovely to have your own home where to hermit properly with comfortable items 😀 And some of us INFP do also go to work and have normal jobs and "normal" life dreams. It is all in more of a spectrum that your basic personality shows in you.

I think culture is a big influence of whether we want material things, and desire for safety and security can also lead to materialism. I found that pursuing altruistic spiritual ideals or living a life of extreme unselfishness, puts me in unsafe situations.

Can one be a socially confident and very assertive INFP? Or am I a more chilled out, less loud ENFP? I can never choose between the 2 lmao
Edit: could you please do a new ENFP one?? Your last ENFP video is from 4 years ago :(

Its definitely possible. Infp is a personality type, it's your default but it is possible to learn to be louder or more assertive or even more quiet.

Yes! You have basic type, but that is not your destiny written in stars! You can learn new skills, become more extrovert (it is a spectrum anyway) and evolve! Which we are all about anyway. I am mistaken for extrovert in regularly. Because when I step out of my house, I start radiating 😊 Then I come back home and don't leave it before next week 😂

I also type myself as an ENFP, yet this video, describing INFP traits, fits me to a T. I think I'm an unusually introverted ENFP . Probably a deeper dive, comparing the dislikes/shadow side of both types, will bring clarity. Thanks for the comments and video.
