Just found this video after googling Manga storytelling because I'm trying to wrap my head around how japan can produce stories about making bread interesting/radical/exciting. Its fascinating. This video didn't really answer that question fully BUT I think it did spark something that gives me an idea of how its approached. Keep it up!
Can you elaborate on what you mean by main character? Do you mean a protagonist? The character that the audience will be following with? Or like an antagonist, or heroine/love interest or friend?
I've been trying a manga for two years now and I can't find any ideas yet but thanks for the video anyway now I can keep an open mind about coming up with things
I have an idea, it’ll be called Tournament of GOD where 1/100 people who die are put in a tournament to become the winner and become god. There power is chosen by the way they die. But I’m not that good of a drawer :(
perfect timing for this video. been having Artist's blocks for a while now. I need some inspiration for working on a manga. deadline for me is in late September... Thank you for this video. ^^
+random i received notification of this video on TH-cam on my Galaxy Note 3 so... I didn't expect to be first... ^^;;; But what matters is that this video gave me ideas or inapirations for working on a manga. at least something simple to do. ^^

+random i see. i was doing my exercise just no. decided to take a break after sweating a lot (and my legs got tired from the workout). so while sitting on the sofa, i suddenly receiced a notification. ^^ and thanks. hopefully I can be a pro mangaka. and also will be working on a web manga soon. ^^
I have been reading japanese, Korean and Chinese mangas and they are all good. But I since I want to publish the manga I'm currently working on, I don't know what to name my characters.
Hi there!!! I am currently working on a manga, but I had a question that NOBODY has answered and that is: If I am primarily working in manga manuscript, and I scan and work on a program (Manga Studio EX), how can I get my work as a hard copy? Screen tones are too pricey, and I am curious if I work digitally, do I just scan the manuscript, edit it, then do I take a fresh piece and manuscript to print it back on? I plan on taking my work to Comitia, and I am not sure if I already have to have my work published or do I take rough copies. In the end though, I am not sure how to apply digital to manga manuscript? I hope to hear from you!!!
I have 2 manga idea, 1st by combining Charlotte (Anime) 9 (Movie) and Upside Down (Movie) 2nd combining my own life, Himouto Umaru-chan (Anime), and adding some memes on it. Is it good enough?
I made the concept of the story of my manga in these anime or video game themes/stories like SMT: Persona 4 relatable villian adachi also Godlike final boss, Animegataris breaking the 4th wall, Star Ocean Till the end of time plot twist, haruhi suzumiya slice of life with a bit of mystery..
Some manga have tons of books while others are short with less than 10. How do you decide how long you want your manga to be? How do you fund a manga? How much time do professionals spend per page drawing? How much content do you sketch out before inking it all? Is it better to traditionally draw and ink in manga pages or digitally (or does it depend on the artist's preference?)? I could keep asking questions for ages XD I want to make a short manga or comic in general one day but I'm no good with writing or stories- I just want to draw. \;o;/
make something that is not there, you want to be there, because someone else is thinking the same thing. anything goes. imagine you're watching it IRL, then in an anime, and then in on your manga. i'm doing that, and go on FB ask for help.
You guys make such a great trio.
Re-watching this video I realise what a nice storytelling voice Wolf has. :)
Thanks for following our storytelling methods! Hope it helped you!
You do too. I would love to have you read me to sleep. Read me and our kids to sleep. ;) Then i'll do the next night. we'll take turns.
Oh my God I can't recognize Cathy... I think her hair color changed? I thought she was Rachel from RachelandJun!
Maybe because of the lighting or filters? It's still the same, at least last time I checked ;)
I thought she was Triendl Reina lol for a second there

Good ideas on how to think of a concept for a story. Thanks! I'll try to apply at least one of them to see if it helps!
Would it be nice to suddenly introduce a main character after a few chapters into the story?

+Alison Jones if you are working on paper, scan your manga into the computer, then just print it using a computer printer.
