On thing you can do if you want multiple halftone layers, is to apply the halftone layer setting to a folder instead. All the layers in the folder will be converted into a halftone all at once, as if they were a single layer, without any overlaid areas.

I found an easier way to do the grayscale painting, but just sticking with the black and whatever layers I’m coloring on I just lowered the opacity. This means I do have to have separate layers for each value but to me it’s worth it if I have to do a couple of characters I can give them a base tone fill them with the highlight and then go back in and scoped out where I want the light to be kind of like actual screen tones depending on the intensity of the artwork the opacities will be 25, 50, 75, 100 for a work with four levels of shading and 30,60,90 for a work with three levels of shade after that, you can just group them in to a folder or merge them with a blank layer to keep them all in one place, and then you can do the same thing with the highlights

Karl!!! This is DOPE!! Thanks for the tips on this subject. Hope your doing more of these plus a few other vids as they come to you. I found this by accident but I’m set up to get your vids immediately. Want to see more tips on your process using Clip Studio. Layouts, how do you customize your brush to work to your standards, design tactics when storytelling. I always liked your work and thought you were an animator working in comics. Inquiring minds (ME :D) want to know your process, Bro!!

what resolution do you draw at? im finding that the half tone is making it hard to see the line art due to both being black for smaller areas im trying to fill in or for larger areas it goes kinda blurry.

How do you export a piece with haftones correctly? I usually end up with several issues. Sometimes the tones look darker or lighter than I saw them while working in CSP; sometimes I end up with a crapton of moire in the exported file (and the file looks weird at different close ups). I just can't get the hang of it! And the worst part is that I feel I can't trust what CSP shows me while working because it keeps looking radically different when zooming in and out. Any tips? Thanks!

Might only be in ClipStudio Paint EX, which is what I'm using. Not sure what's disabled in the other versions!

Congratulations. You spend six minutes to say something that takes six seconds. Yet you forgot to mention the main point. Where the f*** is "Tool Section"?
It is layer property, not "tool section".
