Not enough people talk about this legendary game. All the big gaming TH-camrs ignore it.

I think 'legendary game' is a bit too strong!

Loved it as a kid. I didn't understand why Pandamonium got so much better reviews. Now I kind of think Pandamonium is better. Will probably play this with my kid now that I realize how short it is. Really enjoyed the concept. Will probably make for a good play session around his room after the games over too.

Clockwork Knight, like Bug, was alright, but its main problem was that it wasn't anything better than what came before it. On the Genesis, you had so many other 2D platforming games that were better than Clockwork. There was Sonic obviously, but also Vectorman, Rocket Knight, Sparkster, Ristar, Contra Hard corps, Castlevania Bloodlines, Mickey Mania, World of Illusion, etc, etc. All of which were better than Clockwork. On the SNES, there were plenty of heavy hitters too like Donkey Kong Country, Mario, etc.
So while I think Clockwork is a solid game, it's also a bit forgettable, and failed to make the Saturn stand out amongst the competition. Between it and Bug, I think Bug is the better of the two, the gameplay was a bit more fluid and fun, and it at least did something different with having a Z-axis, and lots of branching paths so you have different options to take to reach your goal which is pretty cool.
With all that said, without comparing it to anything else, Clockwork is a fun game, I still have yet to beat it, but hopefully I'll get around to beat it along with Bug soon. Thanks for the review!

I could not get into this game. I got both clockwork knight titles for 30$ TOGETHER!!!🤯 I just didn’t find it fun.

I can understand that, they aren't really my cup of tea either!
