Agents of mayhem IS set in the saints row universe
they have something called snap aim that you can turn on and off , i am actually loving this game idc what ppl think
They have snap aim on because most ppl use a controller for this type of game but not me
It really reminds me of Saints Row, mainly the artwork, and some animations. Which makes sense since the developers are violation (makers of saints row).

So I have just one small issue here...
I have disabilities. As such, I will never be able to really play competitive games on PC because my hand eye coordination isn't at the level I can do those games without some level of aim assist. This is why I don't play Battlefield 1 and the likes, so I don't stink up the leader boards of people who still have great hand eye coordination.
But...this game is single player. What does it matter to you if it has aim assist so that people like me can play and enjoy it? I already gave up ever playing online competitive stuff, but you're basically saying that someone who needs some level of aim assist, like me, should just give up gaming entirely because you don't do enough basic research into the games menu to see the aim assist options?
I can meet you halfway with that issue in that it should be an option you can enable or disable, but don't go telling me I shouldn't even be allowed to play games just because you disagree with the basic tools developers put in that allow me to play their games.

Yep that's what I expected was the rationale for aim assist. However it still shouldn't be the default setting.
Optimisation is a real thing, Mack. Because if some guy is getting 60fps with a 1080Ti or something like that, that means the people with 1050s aren't going to be able to play the game properly, because the devs didn't devote enough time to optimisation.
6:38 (a) focus is on ability based tactics and carnage, not ADS shooting range (b) consoles (x2.5 copies sold) (c) without time to properly finish the game it's a crutch to fix underdeveloped gunplay. ez

9:06 I know that this is a follow-up series to the Saints Row series, not a sequel, but the Saints Row games all had multiplayer. 2-4 had co-op in addition to competitive modes. It definitely was a bad move to leave it out of Agents of Mayhem no matter what their excuse for leaving it out may be.
I'm currently replaying the Imperivm rts series (Celtic's Kings as known outside of Italy and Spain) from the erly '00s, lots of fun.
You can tell the FPS dips. 90 -> 60 and 75 -> 60 can give this feeling of a very subtle mouse accelaration. Actually when it drops below 60, even if by -10 you can hear people saying "oh it dropped below 60". Like you said it is not bad but there is a sensation of it dipping.
+Worth a Buy
Two things:
1. About auto-aim: Yes, it should be disabled by default, but I'm glad it's there. Sometimes when I play a game like this, I just want to beat ass and blow shit up. I don't give a flying fickle finger about impressing anyone with my "skills". Sometimes, I just don't *want* to have to work that hard, 'cause I'm a lazy bastard and too old (58) for a lot of this "fast-twitch" stuff anyway. IMHO, it's not always about how skilled you are, it's about how much fun you have. ;)
2. Some people really are having major problems with frame rate tanking into the 20s or below, along with severe hitching and pop-in when certain video options are enabled. Some of them are caused just by opening some of the menus. Even worse, the problems don't go away unless you completely restart the game. Yes, I hear you about fanatics bitching about minor drops here and there, but some of the game's problems, on many systems, are *really* bad. Hopefully, they'll have a patch out soon to fix it.
I suppose that this series plot turn makes a certain degree of sense. What is a saint but a sinner who reforms his/her ways and performs a miracle or two? That can easily describe any number of characters from the saints roster at some point of another.

I agree with a lot said in this review but I don't agree with the comment about people who use auto aim should stop playing games. Not everyone has the same coordination or dexterity as you might have. People have different reasons for playing video games. Some play them to chill out, others might play to get as good as they can but why should you have to stop playing video games just because you're not good enough? In my opinion that just takes away the enjoyment part of playing video games. Personally I think assists like auto aim aren't so bad because we live in an age where people of different abilities are playing games, even disabled people. So it's important to make games inclusive as well as realistic but the good thing about games like this is that you have the option to turn it off or keep it on so it's not such big deal.
Back in the day, we'd have said that game looks a laugh Mac mate. Good review bro.

I can tell when my frame rate drops from 60 to mid 40s but it doesn't really bother me. As long as it stays above 30, the controls are generally responsive enough in most games.

Playing AOM made me want to play SR3 and SR4. Those two were a lot more fun and entertaining to me.
I got sick and tired of the lairs after 8 hrs of playing. But I agree, I'm already very happy to play 60 fps in any game. I even played and finished SR3 on a laggy laptop.
But you still have to click the left mouse button and that's hardcore -10/10
idk why, but my frames sometimes go below 30 fps, and I also have a gtx 1070. I don't have the latest drivers though, because I read bad reviews about them. Could be my cpu bottlenecking maybe as well.

I run at max settings 60fps with drops to 50
I5-3470 3.2 GHz Quad core. Probably my cpu, or the graphics drivers I think.
Yeah it will probably be a bottleneck for your graphics card, but it shouldn't affect the game much at all, let alone drops below 30 :O
Yeah, that's why I said it's most likely my graphics drivers that is causing the issue. I saw on steam store reviews that someone said he updated his graphics drivers and it made the game run much better, but I read the reviews for the driver, and read a lot of bad stuff about it, so I decided I'd rather play with bad performance in agents of mayhem than to mess some other stuff up with the drivers.
this game is in sale right now, I think it's worth it when the sales are in it's favor :)

Good review but I disagree on noticing frame drops from 70-60. I can see the difference clearly, though that doesn't mean I bitch about it.
Mack ya silly Scott!! This is the same system thats been used in every GTA game since 3 and you LOVE those games.
If you have a 144hz monitor you can certainly tell when you drop frames. Likewise, 60-70 fps is not enough for a twitch shooter such as Rainbow Six Siege but for this game I'd say it is okay (even for something like battlefield).
I would love to see a review of the isle it looks good but there is no recent reviews and I want to see if others like it before i buy
Did you have any drops to unplayable range. Seen some gameplay from others where it dropped into the 20 range. TotalBiscuit had this happen just wanting to see if this is as big of a problem as some are saying.
I was really hyped for it at first because I'm a big Saints Row fan but this game lacks the charm of the Saints Row game.
I wish they would have done this before they made Saint Row 4 as I prefer saints row 2's serious gang story with silly stuff happening. Don't get me wrong I liked SR4 but I felt they jumped the shark with it.

I do notice fps drops because my eyes are sensitive to anything under 60, they pain if I play at 30fps, if my fps drops 1 frame under 60 I do notice it

Your right everyone has their own opinions and they should just do what is right for them. For me personally I'm 8 hours into this game and I am having a absolute blast. It's just a no brainer check your mind at the door and go cause mayhem ( pun intended) gamr. I love obtaining and levelling up all the agents tooIt runs pretty good on my PC (which is a good but not great rig) I would give it a "worth a buy" - but that's just me.

Loved the vid Mac mac, but i respectfully disagree about the frame rate rant. At 60FPS a 15FPS drop is very noticeable. That's 1/4 of your frame rate...How could you not notice it? Unfortunately I have only a 60 Hz monitor, but a 970. so In most games I get above 60 FPS at ultra. Meaning screen tearing. 75% of the time I use v-sync. A 15FPS drop with v-sync is even worse.

I am enjoying AOM. I like the combat and the variety of heroes. There are many genuinely laugh out loud moments in the game. The map is your typical open world fair of loads of icons and the missions do become repetitive. I give the game a solid 7/10.

If you were talking about RTS or RPG games I would've agreed with you.
I played some Strategy games that ran at 30 fps without noticing it.
But in an FPS or a TPS, 5 or 10% FPS dip matters.
Damn the art style and animations look better than Crackdown 3... Ok I'll say it, this looks better than Crackdown 3 period. 🙃

Yeah me too. And for the record you CAN tell the difference when you drop 10 or 15. Also I don't know where he's getting this 15 frames in the 90s stuff. I clearly remember playing half life around 60 or 70 frames, especially when I was playing that mod called the specialists. You NEEDED good frames to compete in that mod.

Just got total package version on ps4 for less than a tenner ! Great game & now with HDR support. Would def be better with co-op tho ! Switch your brain off,suspend reality,have a giggle,blow shit up & enjoy !

Ya, 60fps is acceptable, and despite the art style the graphics of this game are actually pretty demanding. TB did bring up some legit bugs in his video, but those will probably get fixed. _However_, Mack, make no mistake. The difference between 60 and 120 is pretty damn obvious. ;) For the people that care, that's why the graphics options menu is there. Turn some shit down, and run at whatever framerate you want.

first, i like your videos a lot, keep on the good work! But the aiming part is eh... In third person games with controller aiming is a pain! I'll gladly use the autoaim, and bcs its a port, the autoaim is in it. It is a solution to a problem they created themselves with third person(why? i don't know). but you say your first 5 hours got ruined, although you didn't notice, so where they really ruined?(Maybe in your perception now, but as you were playing those 5 hours?) Aiming without help is good for mouse but not for controller, and with the option i gotta say, who cares, you can switch it on and off as you like

Love the reviews but how can you not tell the difference between 60 fps and like 55 fps? Idk if it's just me but pretty much anything less than 60 is noticeable. That being said under 60 isn't horrible, I just can see the difference
