The concept of Ultra Fusion is fascinating. The idea of combining Ultra Instinct Goku with Ultra Ego Vegeta is eye candy for fans. This would truly be an ultimate fusion in dragon ball. But why wouldn't it work? Conceptually, the form just makes no sense. Qaaman explains this about Goku and Vegeta in their ultra god forms today.

Okay but, Beerus uses ultra instinct and destruction energy at the same time in the manga. Though, you do also have to factor in that Beerus had millions of years with training experience.
That's a very good point.
He still hasn't mastered it though, and it seems as if his raw power eclipses the need to learn UI fully. A fusion would likely be what Beeurus should have, insane destructive capability with fusion. I also think this is perfect for defeating villains. The importance of teamwork, and a balance of technique, defense and offense, showing people what the pinnacle of strength is.

Beerus is actually weaker than hes ever been because he got very lazy and sleeps all the time now. Goku mastered Ultra Instinct but that doesnt mean its "stronger" than Beerus's Ultra Instinct.

i believe if fused, they could use ultra instinct and ultra ego, but not simultaneously. to access one form you need to think differently. you cannot be tranquil and destructive; they contradict each other and/or are opposites in nature. for example you can't be a narcissist and be humble, two different natures. Thats why an "ultra gogeta or vegito" is not realistic; debatably cool/interesting but not realistic. similar to yin and yang.

When I saw the title I thought it was referring to the Ultra Fusion from the game Dragon Ball Fusions
Vegeta hates the fuse, but when it comes down to it, kakarot With Vegeta in a heartbeat but Vegeta rather rely on his own abilities but I think we probably will see that fusion from a marketing standpoint. It would be crazy. I’m shocked that heroes haven’t done crazy fusions already.

I mean Beerus used UI in manga, and in Dragon Ball Fusions and dokkan Beerus and Whis fuse with both Hakai and presumably Whis innate UI. Also in Xenoverse you can have UI and Hakai at the same time. So I feel like while they are opposing techniques, they can be used together, albeit its probably very challenging to do so.

well, beerus has done it. he should have at some point be able to use mui mue at the same time. but the potara fusion is out of the question because the time limit shortens if they use too much energy, and the amount of energy that ultra vegito would use will make the fusion last for 1 min or less probably

Freezer can continue being the Emperor of the universe without messing with the Saiyans, and Goku and the others will leave him be for as long as they don't cross paths. I just don't see them fighting to death.
I'd say it would unlock another avenue of power that neither Goku or Vegeta would consider. I mean, the forms are as distinct as Goku & Vegeta themselves.
So basically, they'd turn some whole other color as Ultra Vegeta, rather than being white/purple, or some kind of pink or something.
I think that the fusion would be in UI most of the time but would switch over to use whenever they're about to take DMG.

It could be possible we get a new form from it instead of them flat out combining, which takes properties of both ui and ue, and in some cases creates a drawback from it due to the dual natures of said forms. But this new form wud be what people said ui was originally supposed to be, offensively attacking, defensively fast reaction speed. So a form where the user has fast attacks and fast avoidance, but when hit, it makes the user stronger and thus increases pure improvement sort of like hit.

@@QaamansLand it's a method of fusion where 5 people fuse into 1 being; it was invented by the Ginyu Force and is *_insanely_* powerful. When the player, kid Goku, Pan, Goten and Trunks did it, it was stated to still not be as strong as Beerus. It became stronger than him by absorbing a Super Genkidama. It only lasts 20 seconds
After SS2 comes SS3, but SSR happened.
Ultimate was the full power of all of your potential, yet Orange and Beast happened.
Blue was SS using SSG, yet SSGSSE happened.
I wish Super was consistent at least with worldbuilding but I guess removing powerlevels came with paying in iq levels. Of course there's a chance. I wish they would not do it...

U.E. has Vegeta acting more like a primitive monkey by being aggressive, but U.I. has Goku being more calm and tranquil.
Hmmm, we do know the writing for Dragon Ball is more inconsistent than the power scaling system and Fusions are written be as powerful or capable of ridiculous feats depending on the scenario so if the writer(s) wants U.I. & U.E. to blend then it will happen; most likely in Super Dragon Ball Heroes before anything else!
i do think that gogeta/vegito will fight frieza. either that or it’ll just be a group fight with goku, broly, vegeta, gohan, piccolo, and granolah all fighting frieza (and hopefully vegeta hakai’ing frieza)
I never got any of those messages but thanks for the heads up. As for the fusion, if Dragon Ball ever goes that way, they will just have them unfuse at last moment like usual before finish of Frieza.

I have a personal belief that the fusion dance isn’t dictated by who’s stronger and weaker, yes you have to have equal power levels to PERFORM the fusion but it still fuses both people in their entirety. I personally believe the fusion uses all the power.

I hope Ultra fusion beats Frieza down profusely, and Vegeta will take over in a way, the fusion is half of Vegeta’s thoughts and his thoughts are more overpowering and important than the Goku side of it. So he will scold Frieza and taunt him, getting his revenge after all this time. And the fusion will use a Hakai Final Flash or something to erase Frieza.
The Vegeta part 75% of fusion beats Frieza.
Funny enough the fusion probably would just switch between them when taking damage/ evading. But most likely wouldnt be able to do either as the mind of the fusion would be "conflicted"

Beerus, someone who is constantly in UE, did briefly use UI Omen in the GoD exhibition, so it is possible to use both.

What if they have it where because they're using the techniques of the angels the Potara actually lets them stay fused as long as they want. No convenient defusion like always. But Vegito actually gets pushed. That would be sick. Fusions have always be a no contest battle. When Goku and Vegeta perfect there forms more I think fusion will work better then ever before either the dance or Potara. A perfect Ying and Yang.
I know this isn't canon but I really want to put it out there anyway. Whis is always in UI state and Beerus is a destroyer god and yet in dragonball fusions, (the DS game) there was an official design of both beings combined though the metamoran fusion. It's a shot in the dark but who's to say if both Whis and beerus somehow know a way to synchronize both states of being.
Either way I can definitely see them pulling this off in heroes no doubt.
I'm sure both will work god ki shouldn't change anything since it drained the fusion just like the regular forms do.

Ideally, a fusion wouldn't combine the two, but would be able to switch between each form as easily as flicking a switch on and off. Beerus is stated to be able to use a very crude and basic form of UI, people with the "Destruction Mindset" are fully capable of UI's calm and reflex-based mindset. So Vegito/Gogeta uses UI to dodge incoming attacks, then switches to UE to deal more powerful attacks. Like in the Goku Black arc in the manga, where they used God, then transformed into blue for short periods.
An alternate route for the "Ultra Fusion" could be a UI's evasiveness and defenses, and having access to the raw destructive power rather than switching constantly between forms. Or the opposite, Having UI's reflexes being built into UE passively, eliminating the need to switch between the two. I don't think this would be necessary, as a UI Vegito/UE Gogeta or vice versa would be more than enough to demolish an opponent. But if the need to alternate between form arose thats probably how it'd happen.
If a fusion is to fight Frieza, I feel like the fusion should do the majority of the damage, then be defused, as Frieza is weakened, Vegeta should be the one to have a 1 on 1 and finish him off, finally getting the kill. Goku should ideally be knocked out by Frieza. With this scenario 1) Frieza gets a satisfactory decisive blow on Goku, something he hasn't done as he's never defeated Goku, and 2) Vegeta gets the killing blow, like he has deserved for ages.
nah, if current goku and vegeta fused it wouldnt work, both potara and fusion dance fusion can only hold a limited amount of power, vegito defused against his will in the zamasu arc cuz he used too much power, if any potara fusion were to use an amount of power equal to or greater then vegitos final kamehameha in the zamasu arc the fusion would instantly defuse.
if they did fusion dance its likely that the same limit would activate and defuse them, we know for a fact that fusion dances time can be shortended by using too much power, and while we havent seen a metamorainian fusion defuse from too much power outside of gt its likely that it would happen.

WHAT ABOUT GOHAN AND GOKU FUSION?
I don't think the opposing mindsets would allow for the fusion dance, the potara maybe, but that is still questionable. Eitger way the fusion would last, what, 1 minute tops? If somehow it were successful, and they could sustain it, it would be seriously OP. Especially considerinfg all the skills and techniques the two fighters recently aquired. Possibility Whis level or higher. (likely not Zeno though)
Logic is not DBS's strong suit, they'll make it work. But I can imagine that they can/will create a new transformation that can handle both ego's and instinct's power!
It would probably be a totally new form of Ultra. A combination of the two fused and mixed into one. Able to wield as one.

No.. ultra ego is a slightly scaled up version of Goku,s super Saiyan purple, Vegeta,s god ki isn't quite as high level Goku,s so the fusion whould be somewhat unbalanced.

Ngl, it would never happen. A fusion between the two forms is impossible. Their requirements for transforming are completely different. Ui requires a claim and emotionless person. UE requires someone voice of conscience and a being who’ll cut loose to let their emotions run rampant. The fusions could only go on at a time or old evolution blue or blue times 20x.

I think this fusion can work, and work quite well BECAUSE it's so contradictory. Think about it...Goku and Vegeta fuse into Vegito via Potara, and when he is on the offensive, he's using the Ultra Ego aspect of the form. On the defensive, he's using the ultra instinct part. Yes, it's like a huge cheat code, but fusion in itself is like a big cheat code as well, so it doesn't really matter. You could also have a situation where they're up against a new opponent and god ki simply doesn't work on them at all and they have to go back to what they used to do. I think this is a fantastic idea because it furthers the plot, makes the characters THINK instead of overpowering the other guy, and it makes it so the fusion loses because as we all know, fusion isn't allowed to get the kill.

Ultra Instinct is someone body automatically acting in both offense and defense. Meaning it’s very possible that if Ultra Instinct Vegito is faced with an attack he cannot dodge his body will automatically transform into Ultra Ego
Are we just going to ignore that for Ultra ego to work in the first place you need to get hit?? and the more you get hit the stronger you get, that's completely contradictory to ultra instinct where when it's mastered you can't get hit, it just doesn't work.

I really like the thought of Ultra forms not being compatible with fusion. It lets them maintain a tier of power that is unique to Goku and Vegeta entirely allowing them to theoretically supersede the need to fuse if their peak potential in their forms is stronger than the likes of Blue Vegito or Gogeta. While keeping in line that neither of them likes resorting to fusing.
The way the forms work then in theory they shouldn't work together. But if it will make Toei and Shueisha money then of course it will work
If this was 2021 before the Granolah arc and Super Hero, I would agree. However, in 2023, with those materials. I'd argue the line is starting to blur because we now have the revelation of TUI, Ultra Instinct that doesn't require a calm mind with emotions and Vegeta in Super Hero basically talking about aiming for UI properties.

I think it would be a mix between effortless instinctual movement and raw limitless power. Same personality as Gogeta usually, except he can effortlessly switch between complete calm and total destruction in the blink of an eye. Maybe sudden aura changes, or whichever way he's feeling currently, that aura is layered on top of the other (purple on top of silver, or vice versa).
I imagine it being a mix between a God of Destruction and an Angel.
If they fused I think the fusion would only use one of the forms at a time, as opposed to a fused version of both forms.

I think even if the ultra fusion was possible with the potara, any battle with that Vegetto would have to have TOP level pacing because that fusion is only gonna last 2 seconds because of the power drain lmao. Maybe fusion dance would be a better fit because that method always seems to have a set 30 minute fusion time, discarding GT obviously

The mentalities are different but if you get past that the forms would merge together pretty well. Basically take ultra instinct but it has an extremely destructive offensive and on the off chance the user got hit they would get a power boost and be able to dodge and attack even more effectively. It would be awesome to fight some angle level threat at the end of the story
Personally I dont think so. You cant be tranquil and destructive at the same time first of all. And second the boosts they give contradict each other, UI is about evasion UE is about powering through. The boost from UE would be extremely minimal because UI would make sure you don't get hit in the first place it just doesnt make sense.
One thing more OP than this would be UI gogeta fusing with UE vegito 😂 using time travel or super dragon balls of course.

They can potara it. Forces the Fusion. Both forms are like the what the other form lacks.
Yin and Yang. Both these forms are asking for a fusion. Since it has a time limit, they will defuse.
I still think the dance works. Just ret-con it. "oh, when its god ki, you don't need to match power levels".
I think a merged ultra form wouldn't be possible - precisely because they're polar opposites and the mindset required to enter one completely precludes the other. Vegeta is predisposed to Ultra Ego while Goku is predisposed to Ultra Instinct (although he still prefers using a form that lets him use emotions to his benefit, making his UI imperfect by design, but never mind that).
The thing is, Vegito is an amalgamation of Goku and Vegeta's traits, and in cases where these traits are opposite of each other, they offset and cancel each other out. He can't be both as self-indulgent as Vegeta and as collected as Goku, because these traits necessarily cancel each other out. For that reason Vegito could probably enter neither form. It's conceivable that, if he stayed fused for years, he could conceivably maybe work his way towards learning one of these forms, but it would come with great difficulty and is not a realistic scenario due to the brevity of the fusion anyway
Honestly, I think it would likely impossible simply due to the power output and time limitations. SSB Vegito already had a roughly 5-10 min duration during the battle with Merged Zamasu, the Ultra forms would probably reduce it to near-instant split
I assume they would be able to use both if they fused. Because that would be fucking awesome. No point trying to piece together logic to answer a question the series hasn't asked. They could make up a million reasons why it would work if they wanted it to happen.
