Vegeta getting his kill stolen was one of the most disrespectful moments in anime like there was no reason for it to happen besides shaming vegeta yet again
I always thought the point of his character is the fact that he never gives up. No matter how many blows he takes literally and mentally. He just keeps getting up arrogant as hell. which is what makes him so memorable it’s realistic. My point is in Z at least there was reason for these things. These beatings mentally and physically. For example Him seeing Goku and trunks in his dreams and hating himself for not being good enough to be a ssj is something on a real level. When you try your hardest and just suck while everyone gets it like a walk in the park. What they do in super is disrespectful though just no reason. His character progressed not an inch, he gained nothing from goku killing Freiza instead of him.
He shouldn't have taken so long. That's what gave Frieza the time to blow up the planet. If he had killed him with a quick blast or even a punch, then he would have got his kill and Whis wouldn't have had to rewind time for Goku to take it
@@BradLad56 Vegeta often times unfortunately toys around with his opponents when he has the Advantage to win like against 2nd form Cell Golden Frieza as mentioned Goku Black Morro etc
It got a sick fourth appearance in the manga version of the Goku Black arc via Vegeta making a fool out of Black by using SSG to dodge and then Blue to attack by switching between them at speeds that could not be perceived by the naked eye.
Comes out of nowhere, replaces a form that actually has a cool concept and cool potential, gets one-shot by a mini laser, dumb/lazy name-scheme, why is it blue??, get's whooped the first fight it's introduced in, gets used on fodder constantly...
@@T_money808 Dude, Goku achieves God and we're all excited to see what else it can do, and it gets replaced by another form attained off-screen the very next movie/arc... It literally comes out of nowhere, is never alluded to, and has no build-up- not to mention, it's first showing in Goku vs Frieza is terrible, and gives the power a poor first impression. From there, it just progressively gets degraded throughout the course of Super. It's a terrible form...
@tmoney 808 name a moment ssj blue was memorable remember when ssj2 first happened fire when ssj3 happened oh my God ssj God happened different but definitely memorable ssj blue ok let's take ssj dye it blue and make a laser gun take it out that was the day dragon ball transformations were no longer special and no ultra instinct is a technique not a transformation so stop kissing toriyama ass and admit super saiyan blue it your welcome!
Kaioken became fodder after the sayain arc (didn't even beat vegeta), base SS became fodder the moment android 17 and 18 appeared, SS grade 2 didn't really beat anyone (except the androids in the future timeline), SS2 became fodder the moment fat buu appeared, SS3 and ultimate gohan didn't do anything in the buu arc either. Transformations getting shafted in the same arc there introduction or after, has been going on since the start of DBZ
Or even just “ super Vegeta Blue “ because that’s exactly what it looks like. It’s the Sayian grade form that he used when fighting Cell, except Blue. No more, no less.
Goku losing to Kale in SSJB was the final nail in the coffin for me when it came to that form. Regardless if Goku was holding back or not seeing Kale walk straight through a kamehameha by a SSJB Goku was just disrespectful. It was literally a punching bag transformation losing every fight it was in. It doesn’t matter if Broly was the legendary SSJ there’s no reason why he who never had a sparring partner was able to beat a full power SSJG & Blue in his base form. Just terrible power scaling
@@Destined4Greatness. Frieza, Cabba, Copy Vegeta, Nink, The Trio of Danger, Magetta, Zirloin, Rabanra and Zarbuto are all wins of SSB while it's only Ls are against Hit, Zamasu and Jiren I guess Dragon Ball fans really don't watch the show
@@FazeRustyNuts SSJB lost to Hit, Berserk Kale, Zamasu & Black, Jiren, Broly, Granolah, Moro and I count Zamasu & Black separately as they were both slapping around Goku & Vegeta before they merged and even when they did merge Goku & Vegeta were still getting slapped around in Blue.
@@Destined4Greatness. first of all SSB didn't lose to Kale, the fight got interrupted, Zamasu is Black and I already mentioned him including their fusion, in both Manga and Anime they have a total of 6 losses, comparing to the people that I said SSB beat it still has more wins than losses
It's hilarious to hear someone say Ultra Ego is perfect for Vegeta since the entire gimmick is that Vegeta gets his ass kicked to become stronger and then still loses because he got his ass kicked too hard. I couldn't think of a more perfect ability for him at this point, lol!
Yeah, that’s actually genius in a meta sort of way😂although it is stupid in a NON meta sort of way. Like, since Ultra Instinct avoids all damage they wanted to go the opposite way for Vegeta, but they may have overdone it a little😅
@@rickblaine9670 Easy fix: Ultra Ego Vegeta is basically indestructable and he no-sells hits like crazy, like he just becomes this invincible monster that powers through everything without even flinching. HOWEVER it also burns up energy really fast. So have it be like you don't beat Ultra Ego yourself. You just have to SURVIVE Ultra Ego until Vegeta runs out of steam and passes out. And then maybe you could have some line about Vegeta going "I can't do it all the time because it leaves me defenseless if I don't win fast enough" or something to balance it out, if necessary.
My issue is simply the power escalation the form had for no reason. Now it requires comical power jumps for any other character to be relevent. Freeza, piccolo, Gohan. Even Broly. Its because of the entire series power marathon.
SSG was a cool concept, i love that it made Goku appear younger and more thin and spry, it was a great change of pace from the typical forms (bigger+longer hair=stronger). Then it got replaced with what is essentially SSJ2 with blue hair.
Yeah, they missed an opportunity to make the SSG transformation the fastest form because of the decreased weight, combined with the fact it uses less stamina. While SSB could be more raw power
Ssj God was awesome in my opinion it would have been so cool if that form had ssj3 transformation with the red eyes and hair I will say it again the most underrated transformation in dragon ball super Saiyan god I wish perfect cell came back with that transformation in the dragon ball heroes game on the switch android race could go ssj God it was awesome way better than lame ass cell max!!!!
ssjg is even worse than blue, its literally just base goku with red hair dye, the lack of muscles makes it look pathetic and it hardly feels any faster.

You know what bugs me about the Zamasu arc is that after checking the wiki, apparently you can only use the time rings if you're wearing potara. So, Goku Black and Zamasu have these GIANT GLARING WEAKPOINTS with these physical objects that, in the Buu arc, Goku and Vegeta managed to destroy with one hand. Fused Zamasu was entirely preventable if EITHER of the SSBs in the scene were smart enough to recognize Zamasu's GLARING weak point in relying on magical artifacts rather than innate inner strength.
This is even worse now that I think about it. First off, the form is supposed to be about ki-control and precision, yet they only ever use it to hit stuff harder. They're failing to sell the concept of what these forms are supposed to be. Second, the kais as a race are written practically the same as mortals considering they need magical artifacts to do stuff that gods in most media can do on their own. Even King Kai doesn't need a crystal ball for omnipotence. The only inherent difference between the kais and mortals is that one can do a better version of instant transmission. We're not told about anything else. So if Goku and Vegeta had just targeted the magical earrings (which they were capable of destroying in the Buu saga), then not only would they have prevented Zamasu from fusing, but they would have destroyed his entire argument by forcing Zamasu to accept that he's no different from the mortals. Instead of that, they fuck around with their shitty useless form, get nothing done, and allow the villain to achieve his win condition. The ending of the Zamasu arc is like the equivalent of watching your friend play a video game boss fight (jrpg final boss considering it's zamasu), and not figure out how to target the weak point, and just allowing the boss to regenerate until it wins. Both as a physical fight AND as a discussion about the relationship between gods and mortals.
the fact that your ONLY argument to complain about super is what the wiki some random fan says is really shows why Superis so much better written than Z ever could have ever dreamt to be. There is not a single moment in anime, manga or interview where the time rings are said to be usable exclusively by those who wear Pothara rings. Not only that doesn't make any sense, but mind you, what makes you a Kai is not the pothara, so yeah, no idea where did that stupid bs of a fake argument came from Second, kais are inheritenly way more powerfull than mortals. In universe 7, the terror of any lifeform across the infinite possibilities of the universe whas the evil dictator Lord Freezer, who commanded the most tyranical army that ever existed. Kais, just because they are THAT good when born, are just way beyond that power. Kais wield a wer no mortal could ever possibly imagine (Yes, Gero created a cockroach way stronger than any Kai in the universe, but this isn't about Z's shitty power scalling). Not only that, but they have the inherent capability of watching anything in the universe from their assigned planet, which by the way is in an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT REALM. If you think Kais are just mortals with thw "/tp" coe ennables, we go back to the beginning of this comment. The fact that your only argument to complain about Super is the fact that Super is better written and you never watched Z says all it has to be said. So no, destroying the pothara wouldn't have solved anything and there was just no possible way Goku nor Vegeta could have known that, and as a side note, King Kai doesn't have omnipotence. If anything, i've never seen a character more pathetically far from onmipotence (he declares himself weaker than the saiyans in saiyan saga, how tf is that "omni"potence lmao. First go to school and learn some words, because using words longer than 5 letters do NOT make your arguments valid lil kid). The best part is how you think that sending Black to the past would have done something. EVEN if this shitty planned canonically confirmed to be useless of yours worked, Zamasu is not wearing any time ring and he is currently in his corresponding timeline, so the while "inmortal god" stuff is kinda still a problem. Maybe watch the series instead of pulling up some dildos from your ass as an argument. If Super is so good that you can't accept it, maybe watching it making peace that is by far better than Z will make you enjoy life instead of being a pathetic little gremlin complaining about everything because he is allergic to finding a job
All they literally had to do was call the Super Saiyan God transformation was "Saiyan God", then call Blue "Super Saiyan God". Super Saiyan God more so or less retained base-form hair-style, so to not just simplify it by naming it Saiyan God has just infuriated and perplexed me since it's creation & introduction.
Yeah or maybe not make it out to be so much a Saiyan transformation and more like a general technique even humans can learn through the ritual of five beings of pure and righteous hearts. (Because they need something damnit and they've come a long way from the people they used to be). It's god ki and yet it's written to be exclusive only to the Saiyans and Gods which is complete bs to me. I don't get how Saiyans can just use different techniques from various amounts of people while the rest don't get to learn anything new themselves aside from a few minor gimmicks like the solar flare. I miss when dragon ball was not all about the damn Saiyans all the time and more about Goku, his friends/family, and their journey as a group instead of his cheerleaders. It was all fine in the Saiyan and Frieza saga (and the broly movie...sorta) as we were learning about his origin and his race before they where endangered and enslaved and how the survivors developed (especially the one and only kind hearted Saiyan fueled by rage from the loss of his best friend which awaken a fury unlike anything we've ever seen from someone like him at the damn time). How do you expect me to take them seriously now that they've been so one note throughout the series recently to a hilarious degree. Goku: tee hee u pretty strong let's-a-go! I'm getting pumped! I'm fired up! I'm getting excited! Durr ur pretty good! See ya later! Now I'm really REALLY MAD NOW! AAAAHHHHHH! (Maniacal screaming intensifies) Give me everything you got... (Mf sounds like a broken record) show me all your mone- I mean power!? Vegeta: Prince of all saiyans! Saiyan pride! Me me me! I'm the best! I've finally caught up to you kakarot! Oh wait no I haven't! Awww! Hmph! Now I'm gonna play the pouty child cause I lost the game of cat and mouse with my rival and lack any other personality other than a condescending tsundere. Humph! If dragon ball was meant to be this silly then why all the forced dramatic acts? Dragon ball should have been a gag from the beginning in my case cause then I'd find this to be more funny than disappointing. But sadly it's not about me 👀
@DevilMarioProductions No... It would have been an equal trade off and well worth it.... but INSTEAD, Vegeta eliminated Toppo and Vegeta still remained in the fight....... So it makes perfect sense for Toppo to go all out trying to erase Vegeta even if Toppo would get eliminated for doing so... its a win, win situation, rather than what actually happened which was Toppo and his universe losing
@DevilMarioProductions what's better for Toppo? Eliminating Vegeta and himself or just getting eliminated himself and making it even worse odds for Jiren and his entire universe (which is exactly what happened) 😂🤦♂️😂...... Bruh, your argument is STUPID..... Toppo was definitely taking the risk of being eliminated to eliminate Vegeta and he did not care because it was worth it if he could eliminate Vegeta, who is the 2nd strongest U7 fighter... You obviously dont have a very strategic or logical mindset... lol...
I did not expect someone would start a controversial opinion about super saiyan blue sucking as a transformation concept. And I fully agree. It killed the satisfaction of having a transformation and the gap difference in the series. The super transformations basically made dragonball a dye saloon for power-ups that don't even impact drastically in battle.
"ppl were tired of seeing super saiyan god" dude it existed for 15 minutes in one movie, and that was the end of that. Not to forget it had more a level of uniqueness than blue ever did. Even in the newest Broly movie they introduced a new skill with red where he is able to engulf broly in his aura and use it to stop him. Blue has been nothing more than a recolor
Blueper Saiyan just makes me laugh cause it really does feel like they had a Gray Super Saiyan Toy model around the office when they were brainstorming and were like "We need a new form for merc- I mean the story yes the story" & then an intern was walking up for a coworkers birthday & had cupcakes and actually tripped and the blue frosting from them got on the figure and then everyone in the office were all like "Eureka" 😂
exactly its literally just normal super saiyan but with blue hair, as with all the forms from super there is zero imagination or effort involved especially with the quality of the art/animation actually being worse than all previous series despite it being the much newer series. Nothing disappointed me as much as this, cant even consider it canon due to how bad it is and due to it being a retcon.
@johndoe-dj3iy "there's no imagination in super" So we not talking about ssj2 and 3 who's only change is lightning and growing longer hair? I love Toriyama but come on man
As much as I believe in letting people have their own opinion, I could never understand how any Dragon Ball fan could like SSJB when it was probably the least creative and least appealing transformation to look at. Not to mention the fact that it took so many losses throughout Super.
Just because a form is over designed like SSJ4 doesn't mean anything, it's showing progress not fashion statements, also literally every form took more losses than Ws even the original Super Sayian Form
Least creative; I agree. Least appealling; for me personally, that goes to SSJ3. The lack of eyebrows is so unappealing, and the fact the hair grows so much (or at all, since neither SSJ1 or 2 hair grew, it just stood up more), it's just ugly. Vegeta's purple ego is almost as ugly, thanks to the eyebrows and weird palette swap, but also because it regresses Vegeta's characters so much it sends him completely in the opposite direction.
@@FazeRustyNuts That's a good point you raised!🧠😆 1) Gohan lost to Dabura when Gohan was in Super Saiyan 2 form. The reason is because Gohan plummeted training after he defeated Cell with ironically the same Super Saiyan 2 form 2) Goku was in Super Saiyan 2 form when he fought Majin Vegeta but still lost to Majin Vegeta 3) Super Saiyan 2 form took even more losses than Super Saiyan 3 form did in the Majin Buu saga. Super Saiyan 3 Goku at least made Fat Buu into a punching bag
No fan of SSJ4 but blue is far worse. It's a palette swap of better forms and the color is one of the weakest shades of blue. All SSB ever does is remind you of better forms. @@FazeRustyNuts
Another issue is that every Super Saiyan form up until this point had some level of strain and difficulty achieving associated with it. Every subsequent form was harder to maintain, and were used sparingly. SSG was awesome, but SSB is just rebranded Super Saiyan.
It kinda baffles me how long it took the author to realize that rivals with vastly different personalities and mindsets should have different transformations and ways of fighting, instead of just Vegeta going after Goku all the time which was never not at all fitting with his character. It's amazing how Dragon Ball, who was such a pioneer of shounen and shounen troupes is so far behind modern shounen in regards to powers, scaling and character dynamics and development. Toriyama needs to take some inspiration from Blue Lock and how it treats it's characters where basically everyone is a main character and plays differently, even with a much more rigid "skill system".
seriously if you look at the powers system of modern anime, you kinda realize how basic the ki abilites that dbz characters use. Most attacks are either a ki blast/ beam or martial arts combos. Toyotaro and toei need to fix the power system in order to bring the manga into the modern day
I think what really killed the form for me at least was Goku and Vegeta going back to their Z outfits. The transformation actually looked badass in their Whis gi’s. They were definitely made for those outfits and not their original ones.
What killed it for me was having them using the form against the likes of 17, Gohan and krillin in the anime, all people who should have been thousands of times weaker than those forms. Also having 17 become as powerful as a ssjb just doing the park ranger a few years completely ridiculized the blue form even more than what frieza had done by becoming more powerful than Goku and Vegeta by training just 4 months, since he at least had trained with the purpose of getting stronger unlike 17.
Hear me out. Imo, their Z outfits are better tbh. -Goku's fit seem bland, without the Whis symbol, its just the recolor of End of Z gi. -Vegeta in grey seem off, if it was dark blue or black it would've been better. Well atleast SDBS fixed the issues
And this is why I prefer Super Saiyan 4. First of all, it's an awesome, original design and not just a recolor. Second, it fucks! And third, it actually wins 80% of its fights! Not to mention they don't spam the shit out of it, so it actually feels genuinely important. I also like how it's an actual SAIYAN transformation.
Super Sayian 4 is over designed, literally had no reason to change clothes other than the make a fashion statement and no SSJ4 actually lost 80% of it's fight, it only has 1 Win against an opponent without help and he literally used SSJ4 on almost every Shadow Dragon... your comment is pure biased
I think you nailed what makes UI and UE so awesome. They're really the first transformations for Goku and Vegeta that aren't just power boosts, they have characteristics that lean into the natural abilities of their users.
I will never understand the need for people to compare strength off of "feats." If a superhero loses to a villain, that doesn't mean that superhero is weaker than some child because "at least that child beat a dog in a fight." It's beyond obvious that that villain's strength is incomparable to a dog attack. If someone is required to have beat an enemy in combat to not be considered weak, then the story will be required to conform to an obvious line, and every new system or form would be overwhelmingly favored removing the tension that you feel is so terribly removed from the story beforehand.
I hate how they're treating UI Sign and UI as forms when it's a technique. Everyone calls it "mastered" UI when he did not master it, he achieved it's true form, and now UI Sign is being called "true" when he literally downgraded.
As much as i like the idea of Super Sayian Blue. I do wish it was addressed differently then it was originally. Especially when considering that the power scaling that Toriyama stated in Battle of Gods where Goku was 6, Beerus 10 and Whis 15. But in the concept of Super, i believe everyone or most agreed that the Zamasu arc was a better way to add Super Sayian Blue. But if they kept the original concept of Blue being added during Friezas return then I would’ve liked to see Mastered Super Sayian be used; as like how the manga did it.
Super sayian blue was never the problem it is a cool concept, the problem was making ssj god base goku, and then having base goku be able to stack ssjblue on top of his base form. that was the dumb part, it essentially made Goku become ssg times ssg times ssj(x50) in ressurection f.
@@robertwilson7259I mean sure he’s more powerful in Base then BoG Goku, but they are just gonna make the villains more stronger then our favorite saiyans.
@@ThukunaKingofCurthesThe issue is that people now assume that random characters like Krillin, Cabba or Android 17 are just as strong because they fought the base character when it makes no sense.

When I was a kid, we used to theorize what Super Saiyan 5 would be and on one occasion, we found a picture of a blue-haired Goku claiming to be SS5. Imagine my author surprise when 20ish years later, they made that canon.
Thank you. This is an incredible video highlighting so many flaws of the flashy nonsense of Super. On top of the issues with how blue is utilized, it also immediately replaced SSG off screen which was a cool form in its own right, and because of how it was replaced there was no build up, no suspense except for a very brief time during the movie, and no scaling. Based on ssj multiplier it should be 50x the strength of SSG, but that doesn't really tell us anything about SSG, nor does it line up with how we're told the form works in the future, being about ki control.
This. We saw the anger and sorrow of Goky and Gohan to obtain SSJ and SSJ2, and the awsome SSJ3 transformation was to show what was Goku doing in the aftelife all those years. Hell even to reach SSJ4 was a struggle. The sin "say don't show" was on full force in DBS Ressurection F.
@@KonEl-BlackZero Actually that has nothing to do with Blue. This was for every single transformation in DBS except ultra instinct that was atleast foreshadowed. Think Trunks' rage form or Gohan beast or orange Piccolo. Completely non-earned asspull transformations, all of them.

It was my least favorite form in all of dragons ball. I’ve seen super saiyan with just about every color by now but for blue for some reason it just has zero impact when watching. Even lesser Ssj forms had more presence. I think they should have stuck with red and just make Goku’s hair stand up
The sad thing about UI and UE now is that it is now following the trend that SSB followed in that it’s going to be overused and then replaced by something better. I mean that is what DB does ever since the beginning of Z but still disappointing to see 2 very unique forms going to waste
wtf are you talking about why would UE and UI get replaced lmfao at most they may physically evolve and master them better Ui is based on a technique used by bruce lee, toriyamas biggest inspiration, its not getting replaced. stop acting like your toriyama
@@sonicfanmanrealreal5629there will always be a newer form to replace the current forms, that's literally how DB works so why would UI and UE not follow this inevitable trend?
@@JP_...__.__.._ because even toriyama knows where to stop? UI is a transformation that has not only been foreshadowed since forever but is also touted as being gokus ultimate powerlevel, there is nothing above the angels but zeno and UI is the angels technique, it is inspired by bruce lee, again, toriyamas biggest inspiration, and therefor it will not be replaced, so far goku's transformations have followed a trend of colors representing increasing heat, white is the hottest flame and this is shown when kefla mentions how hot goku's aura is. at best goku will achieve a new ssj form weaker than ui but above ssjbkkx20. and speaking of kaioken, UI is a technique, not a form, why would it follow a trend related to forms? kaioken still made itself relevant with blue kaioken so again at most goku will just stack forms on top of UI, im VERY confident in this. there is no way to 1up literal infinity
@@sonicfanmanrealreal5629 Bro, Toriyama just wings this shit. This whole series is just him winging it for shits and giggles. He hasn't had to try to write a good manga since Dr. Slump. The dude is rich.
i wish they had just made SSJB a form that DOESN'T increase power, but has some other kind of effect. They could have made blue as powerful as a lower tier of SSJ, but have it be a more EFFICIENT form that allows for lower or even unlimited Ki and stamina burn. It would have made much more sense, especially when Goku combined it with kaioken,. Blue would allow for goku to rock x20 for a much longer time without taking so much out of him, and it would allow vegeta to push some kind of ultra final flash or something. It would also be a great precursor to ultra instinct, which is also less of a power boost and more of a stat buff. either way, it would have been nice to see goku and vegeta basically hit the actual raw power limit that a saiyan can physically achieve, and force them to get creative with their forms to defeat stronger enemies.
Super Saiyan Blue should have just been Vegeta's version of Super Saiyan God, have it where the difference in hair colour is based off the way you attained the transformation (Goku through the ritual, Vegeta through training). Then Vegeta gets evolution which we could just call Super Saiyan God 2 and Goku moves onto Ultra Instinct
You could build on that by making it so that every Super Saiyan God's color is different to represent their personality and godhood Goku is Red (The Original Ssjg) Vegeta is Blue/Royal Blue (Ssb/SsbE) Black Goku is Pink (Rosé) Trunks SSJ Rage & Beast Gohan could technically be reworked into their own versions of SsjG (instead of unique transformations created to sell toys) This way, the Saiyan evolution line in DBS would essentially be: * Ssj 1 * Ssj2 * Ssj3 * Ssj God * Unique Form (UI/UE)
I don’t know where I first saw this, it could’ve been from you. But I swear that it causes me physical pain that this isn’t what happened. Goku achieves SSG from the ritual and absorbs God ki into his base raising his level to that plateau just like the movie. Vegeta goes to train with Whis in the room saturated with God ki until he is able to sense and absorb it. This raises his base form just like Goku’s from BoGs. He then figured out how to combine that God ki with Super saiyan and Super Saiyan blue is born. A Vegeta exclusive form that allows vegeta to surpass Goku. Goku would then find out about vegeta cheating by training with Whis. Instant transmissions to Beerus’ planet and joins in the training. Also learning to sense/absorb god ki. This now allows him to transform into SSG at will. Allowing the two fighters to have two fundamentally different powers based on God ki but still being equals. Time passes, Goku then uses the ‘calmness’ and ‘healing’ from SSG to combine it with Kaioken. Making him able to surpass SSB vegeta. Goku black is a naturally born God in the body of a mortal. His control and ability to utilize God ki dwarfs them both despite being in a mortal body. He witnesses the super saiyan blue form and afterwards combines his God ki with super saiyan and bam. Super saiyan Rose that is more powerful than blue but slightly weaker than ssg kaioken. Vegeta would then get mastered super saiyan blue, closing the gap between the 3. Time passes, Goku gets UI omen and Vegeta gets SSBE. Goku then gets MUI and Vegeta gets UE. It’s perfect. Like all of Goku’s god forms would be upgrades on his base. All Vegeta’s god forms would be upgrades on his super saiyan form. Something that Vegeta has way more attachment to than Goku.
I love super saiyan blue in the anime but they portrayed it better in the manga. They made god and blue work in tandem with one another. They even explained why some characters were so much stronger than they are. Overall, the power scaling made much more sense in the manga than in the anime.
"a refreshing moment for Dragon Ball fans who were tired of seeing the anorexic stick figure that was called SSG goku" he was literally in one movie up to that point and nothing else
I’ll just say that Krillin fighting against Super Saiyan Blue Goku is not just a straight, relevant power comparison. They grew up training together, so Krillin can make up for skill difference in match-up familiarity with Goku’s formational style. I doubt he would have done so well against Vegeta. Generally, we need to think about the tournament of power fights more for matchups and less for like “this person is stronger and therefore wins.” That whole arc was largely about fighters pushing themselves to their limits and surpassing themselves while utilizing their unique strengths.
Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is basically just Super Saiyan 2 for Blue. With the same issue of it looking nearly identical to the the first form. Just that instead of electric sparks, it's light sparkles and a brighter glow.
@@QaamansLand A welcome return for the Kaioken, though sadly underutilized. Think it would've been better if they had Goku beat Kefla with it to have a more decisive win for the form, and save Ultra Instinct for Jiren.
@@QaamansLandOP made an astute observation. Im not sure what the Kaio-Ken has to do with Blue Evolved being an analog to SS2. I hate it in the anime, but love all the mechanics, drawbacks and improvements that make it interesting in the manga! A little effort goes a long way into making it interesting and unique.
It would have been interesting if they reversed the roles in resurection F, just imagine. Learned from Whis. There is a sort of chamber where the atmosphere is filled with God Ki. The pressure is so high you could only escape by assimilating and mastering that form of Ki Source: th-cam.com/video/6ZMLtKumvB8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fJOVjOvybNO--hQ7
I' not sure about trying to count fights where they technically didn't finish the opponent off as 'not a real win' because, by that standard, Goku rarely beats anyone in Z canon? Raditz got taken out by Piccolo, he needs friends to take out Vegeta and he gets away, Frieza manages to survive, the heart virus kept Goku from doing much against the Androids, and then he gives up against Cell to tag Gohan in. After that, the only win he has against Buu takes everyone working together to hold him back as Goku uses the final Spirit Bomb. The only guy Goku actually 'truly' defeats on his own in all of Z that doesn't survive or escape is Burter, right?
Agreed 100%. Not to mention, the form itself is so lazily drawn. Literally SSJ with blue hair. It’s like Toriyama lost inspiration. At this point, I’m convinced he did.
2:38 I like that you mention the DragonBall cultural zeitgeist since many forms have stood the test of time for different reasons Super-Saiyan 1: Arguably the most iconic animé transformation of all time Super-Saiyan 2: Gohan put this form on the map and Majin Vegeta is on of the Buu Saga’s highlights Super-Saiyan 3: Yet another iconic transformation sequence emblematic of Goku's character always going further beyond Super-Saiyan 4: The hype factory for DB games as well being one of GT’s shiniest beacons. Super-Saiyan God: The form that debuted in the movie that revived DragonBall and is appreciated whenever it is seen. Super-Saiyan Blue: .....um.......................uh........................Gogeta mopped Broly though...........
There's his epic fight against Hit and the Fusions. Plus there's there's the time where it humiliated Rose twice and gave Goku one of his best rage moments plus one of Vegeta's best speeches that shows why he respects Goku.
Honestly, apart from Super Saiyan, most forms fall short and don’t offer much. They mostly just provide a power boost. Although Super Saiyan Blue has its merits, like the ability to combine with Kaioken and perfect ki control, which adds some value at least.
Finally someone said it. And I couldn't agree more. Whenever someone asks me if I'd have super saiyan or sharingan I immediately answer sharingan. Not to mention red eyes look cooler than blonde hair.
@@sonicfanmanrealreal5629 Your ki already gives you superhuman strength speed and durability. Super Saiyan is pretty redundant considering it just gives you a bigger version of something you already have.
Major powers learned in DB: * kamehameha * flight Major powers learned in DBZ: * kaio ken (changes his hair color but can only be done in short bursts to avoid injury) * spirit bomb * super saiyan * instant transmission * super saiyan 2 * fusion * super saiyan 3 Major powers learned in Super: * super saiyan god (ssj4) * super saiyan blue (ssj5) * ultra instinct (ssj6) * mastered ultra instinct (ssj7) I notice a creeping trend where these powerups are more and more turning into sonic OC recolors based on the original super saiyan design. In DB, goku got stronger by training and just getting better at fighting in general. The only real powers he learns in the show are the kamehameha, which he learns by watching Roshi do it once, and flight, which he learned in his 3 years of offscreen training with kami, where he comes back in his teen form, no longer the little monkey boy, but a big monkey man. Other than that, Goku doesn't really use ki based powers. He just slaps the shit out of people with his brute force animal strength. In Z, the powers that Goku learns are generally well- balanced, until the cell arc where it becomes all about higher and higher levels of super saiyan. You can see this disease take root easily in GT where there's an explicit ssj4 transformation, and in super, where every major power goku learns is just another aura/hair color change. This is why imo it's hard to take DB's story seriously post frieza arc. Which is not to shit on dragon ball, it's just an observation about how the special powers start out unique and varied and slowly converge into "new stronger form with different colors". In DB you had the dodon ray, the mafuba technique, that thing Tao Pai Pai did with the pillar, the devil man's evil beam, tien's four arm technique, chiaotzu's telekinesis, the fucking carrot man, general blue's power to paralyze people, a robot girl named arale who could just punt him into outer space, in Z you have kaio ken, the spirit bomb, instant transmission, captain ginyu's body swap ability. All of these are very unique and varied abilities compared to the immense number of saiyan transformations
Ey bro, I’m not gonna lie, you’re on your own with the super sayian god take. I was NOT tired seeing that form. It was barely shown anyways, and calling him anorexic is a HUGE stretch he still had a lot of muscle. If anything, super sayian god was treated better than super sayian blue. Whenever you see it it was way more special
Ssj God in the Broly movie was peak representation. Still hella imposing, different “pressure” (love the concept of pressure not being the same as high Ki since only a few can read god Ki level) , skinny/compressed but still has muscle and , most of all, in the Beerus and Broly movie’s they really went ham on the idea that is actually has a Fire aura. When ssj first came out there are lines of characters saying how the aura looks like fire and whatnot, it’s even implied it’s hot. But SSG actually had that flame theme over the hair, aura and even Goku and Vegeta’s attacks . Blue was just fully unnecessary. Coulda been cool but it adds virtually nothing to the characters or franchise. Hell, ssj3 looks 1000x more “godly” than ssb
@@ShiyokenEither Vegito or Gogeta that can’t even be touched with UI, and can casually yeet hakai around like a menace should horrify any villain.. not to mention instant transmission, forced spirit fission, and considering fusions have come up with new techniques with every time they get a new power up, i wouldn’t be surprised if they pull more moves out of their a*s
My imagination is. Gogeta charging on enemy with ui silver hair to get closer and dodging. After getting closer he slowly transform in purple hair into ultra ego to do finishing blow.
Honestly, thank goodness Ultra Instinct exists as Goku's path going forward. Hopefully, Blue will only be remembered as a short stop gap unto godhood. That said, what Blue does get right is utilizing the SSJ hairstyle and I think Mastered Ultra Instinct ought to do the same. God form+UI Sign = normal hair......Mastered Ultra Instinct = SSJ hair
I like how Blue is handled in the Manga. Unsustainably Strong, so the 'meta' to maximizing the effectiveness of the form is to only use it briefly. God's much more mobile and sustainable, but you switch to Blue right before throwing a punch or using a big blast to get that extra oomph, then revert to God so you're not caught with your pants down.
I don't think the issue is the blue transformation. I think transformations in general are over used throughout the series too often as a reliance, especially in Super. The first time Goku goes super saiyan you really felt this is something special. Now, any fight that is initiated Goku and Vegeta transform right from the start and it takes away from the feeling of these "unachievable/legendary" forms being something special every time you see it on screen every 5 minutes. I personally want to see more fights in base form, it shows how strong they are and all the years of training paying off. Nothing is exciting knowing the hero gets a x50 power boost as soon as they transform, let them struggle a bit and find ways of fighting their enemy in creative ways without strength being the deciding factor. Besides that is Goku and Vegeta's personalities, finding joy in combat and new techniques.
@@FazeRustyNuts For myself, I view the saiyan transformations as their trump cards and something that should be able turn the battles in their favor. But, when you see them being used so often for just about every fight then where is the magic or awe effect anymore? For example, Super Saiyan blue is supposed to be a level to rival the gods themselves and during the tournament of power it was being used against characters that easily any other Z fighter could have handled themselves. Doesn't make the form feel special anymore if someone like Piccone could have dealt with them as well. Imagine if Blue was preserved for more serious fights towards the end like against Toppo or Jiren then you would feel the weight of the situation and just how powerful those forms really are then you will get a better sense of "damn this guy is strong or is an actual threat".
@@FazeRustyNuts Same feeling for me, which is why I said in my original comment why not have more fights in their base forms then gradually have the transformations build. It's hard to get a sense of power strength if they go super saiyan/ Blue right from the start. Just makes everyone feel like they can rival our boys Goku and Vegeta.
Vegeta's upgraded blue form's eyes. I just can't take him seriously with those pupils. Goku's Ultra Instinct has the same, but it feels less "magical girl"-y.
Ultra Ego is an interesting concept. But so far it's only further cemented Vegeta's title as the "Prince of All Jobbers". All it ended up doing was turning him into a punching bag in his fights against Granolah and Gas. Completely worthless.
Sating Gogeta didn't beat Broly just because he didn't kill him is insane. From the moment Gogeta went blue to the end of the fight, Broly didn't land a single hit on him. are we going to say beerus didn't beat Goku because he didn't kill him? are we going to say Android 18 didn't beat Vegeta because she just broke his arm and didn't kill him? Uh-oh, looks like Vegeta didn't lose to Goku in the Saiyan Saga because he didn't die
Sad thing is the concept for SSG was great. Goku reverting to a non-primal method of fighting by having his relaxed expression be the default and the red hair being base in style. It actually looked very unique. I was so letdown it just became, well, they literally decided to call it SSB themselves. Kaioken SSG would have looked sick too. MUI is really just a rip-off of the original idea of SSG. I won't deny the aura and hair still resembling base is cool, but I feel it would have been much cooler as a direct successor to SSG and SSB simply didn't exist. Hell, I'm still mad SS3 never had a mastered form simply because Toriyama didn't like drawing it. But, really, Ultra Instinct just feels like a nice continuation of SSG and it is a real shame it had to be after SSB, as if Goku just forgot he learned that new calmer aura and decided to fight angry again. _To me, here are the real forms to the creator:_ - Super Saiyan - Super Saiyan Blue - Mastered Ultra Instinct Anything else was just a stopgap, even the ones that looked really cool. If I could bash any of them, I guess only Gohan made SS2 look cool, but Goku barely had an aesthetic change besides those "aura sparks" everyone goes on about. _TL;DR: Wish SSG was focused on more, UI was the successor to SSG, SSB never existed._
@@QaamansLand lol being honest, i dont mind ssj Blue as a next level from ssj God, I just wish we had more time with God. Similar to how they handled it in the manga essentially. However I was never a fan on how they colored it. I rather have a sky blue kind of color (Similar to ssj Broly, in the Raging Blast 2 game). In the anime, it looked like a metallic teal color.
Same here. Blue is my favorite color so seeing goku with blue hair looks awesome to me. Especially sense it goes well with the blue on his gi that he wear all the time
Really dumb that they replaced a cool new form with a new and unique design and concept with a super sayain hair color swap to just fodderize it until we get the ultra forms and we don’t even see god again until ToP
Goku didn't say that he doesn't want to no longer use Mastered Ui he just said that he's not using the Mastered Ui form its hard to use because it requires a calm heart & Goku's heart wasn't calm at that time when he was fighting against Gas
Not to mention, Whis told Goku to find his own path of UI because he's not a Angel. Goku will find a way to turn UI into his own thing, the Saiyan way because he's a Saiyan.
Honestly I've always preferred God over Blue. God at least felt and looked different from the typical super Saiyan form. Blue was just...blue...and not even a nice shade of blue. I like the color blue too! It just always looks so bad in super's digital coloring. But I'm also the type that prefers a full on transformation rather than just some hair change.
@@paweopalczewski6533 not really. Kakarot still sounds fine (well about as fine as a silly Dragonball name can be). Top is just a sorry replacement for Toppo. Certain things just don’t roll off the tongue well.
Excellent video bro, I have been saying this for a while is that Super Saiyan Blue is underwhelming because it has no true feats. This is why SSJ 4 will always be the better transformation.
They really screwed Red over, in my opinion. First, it really didn't get used past the initial discovery. Second, they made everyone stronger to keep up and stay relevant, leaving the idea of "being a god" as a joke. Which leads to third, they treated it as just a power-up, instead of making God Ki really mean something. I worry that they will do the same thing with Ultra Instinct. Treat it as just another power up rather than embrace it's unique characteristics.
Man i wish Ssgss/blue had a better name, but Also that it was a darker blue, and Gokus and Vegetas hair would change to a different style and made throw in red eyes
i think idea of super saiyan blue was real cool but introduced WAY to early, super saiyan god shouldve had way more time to shine. Aswell as it was just so over used and like quaman said it felt mundane.
I agree, if super saiyan god is different ki altogether then they should have restarted the transformations starting from the red base form, then going ssj 2, ssj 3 and so on in my opinion. The blue really just feels thrown in there and there really wasn't enough build up for that transformation. He already achieved god form through a ritual and now he can just do super saiyan blue in the next movie. Feels ODE rushed. They worked way harder for ssj and ssj2 back in the day so im not really jacking it. AND THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT IT EITHER RED OR BLUE. PICK ONE.
0:05 How even tf people could get tired of ssjg if ssgb appeared in the next arc and dragon ball super just started?

I couldn't think of a more perfect ability for him at this point, lol!
Exactly

That, fuck Super.
the fact that your ONLY argument to complain about super is what the wiki some random fan says is really shows why Superis so much better written than Z ever could have ever dreamt to be.
There is not a single moment in anime, manga or interview where the time rings are said to be usable exclusively by those who wear Pothara rings. Not only that doesn't make any sense, but mind you, what makes you a Kai is not the pothara, so yeah, no idea where did that stupid bs of a fake argument came from
Second, kais are inheritenly way more powerfull than mortals.

My thoughts exactly

@@FazeRustyNuts
That's a good point you raised!🧠😆
1) Gohan lost to Dabura when Gohan was in Super Saiyan 2 form. The reason is because Gohan plummeted training after he defeated Cell with ironically the same Super Saiyan 2 form
2) Goku was in Super Saiyan 2 form when he fought Majin Vegeta but still lost to Majin Vegeta
3) Super Saiyan 2 form took even more losses than Super Saiyan 3 form did in the Majin Buu saga.
@@EndoScorpion I feel the same way about Ultra Ego. The idea and function of the form/technique is cool, but I'd rather keep my eyebrows.
Another issue is that every Super Saiyan form up until this point had some level of strain and difficulty achieving associated with it. Every subsequent form was harder to maintain, and were used sparingly. SSG was awesome, but SSB is just rebranded Super Saiyan.
They literally did train for SSB, but I agree it was overused.
I agree. Vegeta really looks good in gray.
ngl, I hated the whis outfits, I thought it was the worst fit they wore in the series😂
@@azyured9817 nah you right, those fits in super were trash ngl 😂

I find it hilarious that Toriyama forgot the series was named Dragon Ball Super when coming up with the Super Hero name.
A big reason is, we never saw how Goku and Vegeta archive blue
This. We saw the anger and sorrow of Goky and Gohan to obtain SSJ and SSJ2, and the awsome SSJ3 transformation was to show what was Goku doing in the aftelife all those years. Hell even to reach SSJ4 was a struggle.

The sad thing about UI and UE now is that it is now following the trend that SSB followed in that it’s going to be overused and then replaced by something better. I mean that is what DB does ever since the beginning of Z but still disappointing to see 2 very unique forms going to waste
Exactly I can't wait for the next hair color change.
wtf are you talking about why would UE and UI get replaced lmfao at most they may physically evolve and master them better
Ui is based on a technique used by bruce lee, toriyamas biggest inspiration, its not getting replaced. stop acting like your toriyama
Gohan one shotting Frieza was probably the best we ever saw, and especially since in that movie Frieza was thinking the guy was weak.
You could build on that by making it so that every Super Saiyan God's color is different to represent their personality and godhood
Goku is Red (The Original Ssjg)
Vegeta is Blue/Royal Blue (Ssb/SsbE)
Black Goku is Pink (Rosé)
Trunks SSJ Rage & Beast Gohan could technically be reworked into their own versions of SsjG (instead of unique transformations created to sell toys)
This way, the Saiyan evolution line in DBS would essentially be:
* Ssj 1
* Ssj2
* Ssj3
* Ssj God
* Unique Form (UI/UE)
@@panem1901 that's actually a really cool concept for god forms
@@panem1901 this would have been so much better.
I've had this exact feeling, the blue form always felt kinda "there" and never induced the fear or awe SSJ1 or 3 did
I love super saiyan blue in the anime but they portrayed it better in the manga. They made god and blue work in tandem with one another. They even explained why some characters were so much stronger than they are. Overall, the power scaling made much more sense in the manga than in the anime.
Anime is just a way for them to sell merch
"a refreshing moment for Dragon Ball fans who were tired of seeing the anorexic stick figure that was called SSG goku"

Ultra ego works for vegeta because now vegeta can get something from getting his ass kicked
Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is basically just Super Saiyan 2 for Blue. With the same issue of it looking nearly identical to the the first form. Just that instead of electric sparks, it's light sparkles and a brighter glow.
So what is blue kaioken?

I notice a creeping trend where these powerups are more and more turning into sonic OC recolors based on the original super saiyan design.

@@danielz-v4083 EXACTLY! THANK YOU!
@@sasook Well i guess you and him are just wrong🤷♂
I agree with everything, Dbs goku really be going ssb for no reason 😂 imagine if z goku went ssj3 against raditz 💀 it’s just dumb imo
Bottom tiers forms:
SS Blue
SS Rage
Beast
I wonder what kind of fusion they would get from ultra instincts and ultra ego together.
Would have to be some form of omen form, a new form entirely that could use them in a complementary fashion.
Tbh it shouldn't really be possible.
It wouldn't make sense, and it'd just be meh
I don't understand the logic of how using a Transformation takes away from the "Unachievable/Legendary" form
@@RockoSocko66 did you keep this same energy for Super Sayian being spammed against everyone?
_To me, here are the real forms to the creator:_
- Super Saiyan
- Super Saiyan Blue
- Mastered Ultra Instinct
Anything else was just a stopgap, even the ones that looked really cool. If I could bash any of them, I guess only Gohan made SS2 look cool, but Goku barely had an aesthetic change besides those "aura sparks" everyone goes on about.
_TL;DR: Wish SSG was focused on more, UI was the successor to SSG, SSB never existed._
Lol secret ability to read the commentators mind 😂😂
Dunno why but that got a chuckle outta me
Sounds cringe but it's true
@@QaamansLand lol being honest, i dont mind ssj Blue as a next level from ssj God, I just wish we had more time with God. Similar to how they handled it in the manga essentially.
However I was never a fan on how they colored it. I rather have a sky blue kind of color (Similar to ssj Broly, in the Raging Blast 2 game). In the anime, it looked like a metallic teal color.
Unironically my favorite form. Not even kidding
Same here. Blue is my favorite color so seeing goku with blue hair looks awesome to me. Especially sense it goes well with the blue on his gi that he wear all the time
That’s ok. Nothing wrong with that 🤷🏾♂️

Really dumb that they replaced a cool new form with a new and unique design and concept with a super sayain hair color swap to just fodderize it until we get the ultra forms and we don’t even see god again until ToP
Not just blue, all ssj forms in super sucks.
ssj 1 was a big deal for a few years
Kudos for using Dragonball final bout music, that game is a straight classic man dayum

when he said goku pulled off the ssb kaioken that look like the rocket Popsicle color
I felt that
Goku didn't say that he doesn't want to no longer use Mastered Ui he just said that he's not using the Mastered Ui form its hard to use because it requires a calm heart & Goku's heart wasn't calm at that time when he was fighting against Gas

Super is the the lowest IQ product they could put out to the masses to keep people buying toys. Toriyama is glad to be done with it and at peace.
I love the name Toppo it makes the character more unique. I can't take the name Top seriously. It might be the worst name change in the series.
Yeah lol
Gotta love it when anime fans complain about every small thing that nobody else would complain about
@@MokPlex"I hate how anime fans complain about changes made in the anime"
Same with Kakarotto changed to Kakarot actually
@@paweopalczewski6533 not really. Kakarot still sounds fine (well about as fine as a silly Dragonball name can be). Top is just a sorry replacement for Toppo. Certain things just don’t roll off the tongue well.
Excellent video bro, I have been saying this for a while is that Super Saiyan Blue is underwhelming because it has no true feats. This is why SSJ 4 will always be the better transformation.
Agree
Calling Blue Kaioken the "Rocket Popsicle" transformation had me in stitches 🤣
They really screwed Red over, in my opinion. First, it really didn't get used past the initial discovery. Second, they made everyone stronger to keep up and stay relevant, leaving the idea of "being a god" as a joke. Which leads to third, they treated it as just a power-up, instead of making God Ki really mean something.
I worry that they will do the same thing with Ultra Instinct. Treat it as just another power up rather than embrace it's unique characteristics.
To be honest now I like super Saiyan God better super Saiyan blue was pathetic & it's reputation of not being able to beat anyone is terrible
SSGSS really just became the new Super Saiyan
Man i wish Ssgss/blue had a better name, but Also that it was a darker blue, and Gokus and Vegetas hair would change to a different style and made throw in red eyes
Literally every SSJ transformation after the first one is just redunancy.
i think idea of super saiyan blue was real cool but introduced WAY to early, super saiyan god shouldve had way more time to shine.
I have more and more concerns about dragon ball fans as most of them don't even know what to say to look smart. I mean WOW saying that Dragon Ball is manipulating us and ssgb evolution is not different from regular blue form? Dude, if you watched anime you can literally see that it is on the same level as Kaioken form. I mean good job, you made a 16 min video yapping bout the blue form without any good reason
Cry about it more
We got SSG for BoG and immediately got replaced
Dragon Balls artwork has gone downhill for years

"Gogeta didn't beat broly"
Yes he did. Just cause he didnt kill him doesnt mean he didn't defeat him. He kocked Brolys ass so bad that he knocked the consciousness back into him. The dude couldn't even fight anymore.
That's not true bro
@@QaamansLand Broly was terrified at the end. It was clear he was beaten. If he had any fight left in him he would shot back with an attack of his own, so Gogeta did beat him.
