I have a different theory. I think that Trunks chose that specific date for a reason. It wasn't just a random date. It wasn't to back and kill Dr. Gero, instead, it was to kill Cell. His mission was to travel back to the exact place and time and intercept Future Cell and kill him. But in doing so, that event created a paradox. Unbeknownst to him, the time machine that he was supposed to intercept was actually the exact same one that he was about to use. In other words, his mission to kill Cell ended up becoming the cause of Future Cell being in the past.
Easy: to give the z-fighterz ample time to prepare incase (future) Trunks is killed by the androids or the time machine is destroyed in the process of fighting at some point in time. The only ISSUE is that since we know Gero inadvertently took dna from Frieza and Cold.... Its evident that he took DNA from Trunks as well, somehow, so they had his power to further develop the androids power too.
In universe, I believe that right before Cell attacked that Trunks, Trunks put in a couple of years in any direction to make sure that who ever this person was and got to use the machine they'll be sent into a random time but Trunks only could put in the last digit and but in three or could be like pushing a button up or down (We haven't seen how he uses the time machine) sooo I'm just guessing
I think you messed up scenario B: It's possible that you need to fine tune the time machine and this Trunks was interrupted before he had a chance to fully program it. Think of it as settings a radio and you want station 102 but you're on 87. You quickly spin the nob to 100 and then slowly turn to 102. But if you get interrupted when you spun the nob to 100 before you slowly turn to 102 it wouldn't be correct for you to assume that I always wanted station 100.

Before you ask I have the video but dragon ball timelines are crazy there’s the original future trunks timeline the unseen timeline the the timeline we I know the g t timeline the dragon ball super timeline the goku black kills goku chi chi goten timeline I tried not to think about to much
I think what happened in the "hidden timeline" (the one we did not see) was pretty much the same as the main one except for minor differences. I actually believe Trunks was the reason 19 and 20 existed. In the main timeline Cell spent all those years underground not really effecting the environment or interacting with anyone, also the guy who found the hijacked "time machine" in the middle of no where did not find it until years later, implying Trunks changed time the most. Point being: in the hidden timeline i predict 19 and 20 happened the same way (pretty much), they turned up and attacked that city. Likely the Z fighters uncovered Gero's lab either because they followed Gero(20) back to his lab or (i like this idea better) because Bulma said the Lab was in North City, they looked for the Lab and eventually found it. They located the remote controller design for 17 in the bunker and de-activated both 17 and 18 once the androids found the Z fighters, its possible that Krillin in this timeline was not the one with the remote controller in his hand since things played out differently, perhaps Tien used the remote controller? In the hidden timeline future cell wasn't there so Picollo's job was fairly easy, he merges with Kami to become stronger and takes on 17, someone deactivates 18, 17 by sneaking up on them. Its also possible 17, 18 and 16 all became good guys so the remote controller was not needed in the end. Mission successful; Trunks then decides to take the remote controller design back to the future with him so he can deactivate the future androids, he does that, however cell is too strong for him, kills him and hijacks his time machine. Note that for Cell to kill Trunks to hijack his machine in the future would indicate Trunks did NOT use the time chamber in the "hidden timeline" because if he had Cell would have been no match for him. In the "hidden timeline" either the saiyans did not use the time chamber or Goku and Gohan went first instead of Trunks and Vegeta; its also possible Trunks never went in the time chamber because Bulma contacted Trunks about the remote control, perhaps that is when he decided he did not need to train in the chamber anymore. So Trunks went to the androids and turned them off, personally i would have liked to think Trunks saved the day in the hidden timeline by being the one who switched them off. Its ironic (kind of funny) however that Trunks went back to the future happy as larry after his "success story" only for Cell strangling him to death with his tail. Ok i think im done.

In another timeline Geekdom and Qaaman are bitter rivals for some reason. Harold from laughingstockmedia is President, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Vice President. Finally in this alternate timeline it is written in the law of every country that one must watch at least one episode of Dragon Ball Z or Sailor Moon at some point in their life. I honestly just wanted to comment something so I put this.
Actually i think it would stop cell too. If i remember correctly, Gero used Frieza's DNA to make Cell, at least in part. Which means if he killed him at that point of time, Cell wouldn't even be a twinkle in Gero's eye.
Welcome back, after toyotaro created a disaster of an chapter in chapter 39, as well as me entering a new phase in my life. I've lost much interest in the dragon ball community. Unscrucribed from everyone...except you. So thank you for being a great TH-camr... ANYWAY. You made some great points, and you kinda did touch upon it. But the question I'd ponder is WHY trunks again would want to go back in time? Did he fail in the unseen timeline? Why would he want to kill gero this time around? And have you even consided that the unseen timeline may be slightly behind the original, just like the future timeline is far ahead of the original? So maybe age 763 was the age 767 of their timeline? P.s db multiverse also does a story about that timeline. You should check it out.
qaaman - Manga cualifa and anime cualifa are kinda simliar but differnt: Manga cualifa has the pride of vegeta, naive confidence of goku while having the heart of robin hood. Anime caulifa basically has the pride of vegeta and naive confidence of goku but has more of the heart of like a typical deliquent teenage girl. Both were depicted being outcast, but one was kinda depicted in more of a edgy teenage thug gang while the other was dipdicted as more of a hero and savior for the poor in that soceity. In terms of the tourney, they were basically the same, except one had a special bondage with kale while the other really didn't, and one got power-ups after power-ups the other kinda only got one.
I've always been under the impression that Trunks could've simply gone to the past, tell Goku who he is and all about the androids, take him to his time, train with him until the time machine was ready again, then go to a few years earlier in the past and pick up Gohan (while he still had both arms). I'm pretty sure after some training the three Super Saiyans could fight 17 and 18 with a real chance to win. And if they were still too much, Goku could always use Instant Transmission to take them to Kami's lookout if Popo still lived there, or otherwise to Korin's Tower. Neither was said to be dead in Trunks's future so I suppose they'd be alive. Goku could think of training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and going to New Namek to either bring Piccolo back or get Dende to create new Dragon Balls. In either case the consequences would be the same, people would come back to life and Gohan and Trunks would come out of the chamber more than strong enough to defeat 17 and 18. Both Gohan and Trunks individually could toy with them.
Qaaman Hm I never thought I’d be asked that question. My effect is I can clear the field of all XYZ monsters when I come to the field, and I gain 500 ATK and DEF points for every overlay units they all had when they were destroyed. Attack points over 9,000. Defense points 3,000.
First of all, Trunks didn’t even know who Dr. Gero was. He didn’t encounter Android 20 (Dr. Gero) or Android 19 until after he traveled back in time to earn Goku about an upcoming Android 17 and 18 threat. This video is a reach.
Qaaman bruh. Then what trunks is this? The trunks that already witnessed the death of Cell? Cause if that’s the case, it wouldn’t make sense to go BACK in time to do a pointless mission.
No,This is the Trunks that Cell killed. How can this be the same Future Trunks if Cell killed him and stole his machine? They are two different Trunks'.
Qaaman but that Trunks still knew nothing of Gero or Android 19. That Trunks still had the same mission as the Future Trunks we know. That was just an alternate timeline to show how Cell changed his own destiny by going back in time as well.
Have you considered that Cell may have simply reset the destination, knowing he would need time to recover his energy after returning to a larval state?
@@KelbPanthera ok can u change the coordinates of a rocket LOL 🤣🤣 I guess using a space rocket is easier than using a time travelling rocket No anger tho...just a fun thingy that came to my mind
So what about this: Trucks would have gone back to kill Gero at the point where everyone was either still on Namek or dealing with Garlic Jr. He would need to come back during a point where everyone was either distracted or off-planet, that way no one would sense his power level if he had to go Super Saiyan against Dr. Gero, and he could alter the timeline without being noticed.
Yes I was looking forward to a new theory vid also who do think is more powerful?, 17 (DBS) or SSj Rage F.Trunks. Tbh I just want them to react to each other.
Its always been quite interesting for me to ponder the real reason Trunks wanted to go further back than he originally did and imo clearly it was because he wanted to take out Gero and save the Z fighters all the effort they needed to put in to defeat the android, this is why i think the time machine was pre-programmed to go back years earlier. If the Z fighters succeeded in the unseen timeline in defeating the androids while bringing peace back to the planet then imo Trunks had no real reason to come back to the past just to take out Gero, why do that if the Z fighters 100% succeeded? So i thought its possible someone was "killed" in the unseen timeline and Trunks felt like a failure because of it? Hence the desire to go back again and correct things? I try to put myself in Trunks shoes here, why would i go further back in time if the Z fighters already defeated the androids in the unseen timeline which likely happened due to building a remote controller? I suppose Trunks could have also just said "i will save those guys the effort and just go back again and kill Gero so they dont have to train for 3 years", to me it only makes sense to go "further back" if something bad happened and you wanted to correct it. I agree with the common notion that it was ODD that cell just happened to run into Trunks while he is using the time machine to go back to the past, i think this scenario needed a better explanation from Akira if possible, like perhaps Gr Geros computer learnt of Bulma trying to invent a time machine and Cell was fed this information thus knowing he needed to hijack it would have made it more interesting.
@@QaamansLand Shit, I Can't Remember... 2017, Most Likely, U Sead Something On The 3rd Segment On If Trunks Stayed In The Past, He Could Find Clues To Where Gero Might Be, Or Something Like That.
Yes this vid was 5 years ago but I think it was different because trunks fucked up and decided as last ditch effort to just take the remote device and turning off the androids, just for cell to kill him.
I wonder if Cell altered the date/course of the time machine to get there before Trunks with the intent to prevent him from warning them about the androids but didn’t take into account having to revert to larva and grow again?
Cell could only fit in the time machine by going back to his larvae form and needed time to regrow so he dialed the machine back a few years to give him that time so he would be fully grown again around the time the androids got activated, wasn't this explained in the manga and anime? Since that's been the explanation as far back as I can remember.
Hold on a minute. I always thought Cell overheard Trunks' and Bulma's plan, so he knew what year 17 and 18 would wake up, but in the anime (I don't know about the manga) Cell admits he couldn't fit in the time machine's cockpit. This meant he had to regress to a "larval" state to fit. I always assumed that this would take time as an insect (which Cell is designed after obviously) cannot speed through metamorphosis. So Cell set the time machine back himself as it would take that many years to go through his "larval" state. Idk, maybe its just a dial and/or a 10-key inside that time machine. How else would you "set the time"?
Scenario B makes perfect sense if Cell attacked him before he changed the time machine to a later date. Makes perfect sense provided we assume he went back to an earlier date to begin with to tell them that the Androids are coming (for some reason, but hey, 16 doesn't even exist in normal Future Trunk's timeline and 17 and 18 are weaker, but more evil so a scenario where he went back a year earlier isn't that crazy at all) and he was attacked while it was still set to that date. After all, he's not going to set the date until he's actually sitting in the time machine with the hatch down, and Cell clearly attacked him before that point.
With the canon of DBS kinda co-existing with the DBGT arc, I look at GT as an alternate timeline. And with current Super DB Heroes in effect, could be another alternate timeline? It is stated in Super during the end of the Goku Black arc where Whis tells Beerus that he made another alternate timeline when he kills Zamasu before stealing Goku's body. Plus those green time rings are the "alternate timelines" that have been created. Also, a lot of the movies are featured films and not canon, with the acception of a few movies, many of them alone are considered alternate timelines.
I feel like people need to stop separating the movies from the anime and keep everything like alternate timeline thing instead of trying to please the try hard fans.
Here's a thought: Maybe Cell chose the time period after overhearing Trunks and Bulma when the former planned to visit the past? As in, he kills Trunks and changed the time setting because of him having to be in larvae state for a few years
trunks wasnt travling to the same time as cell he was going to go to age 767-768 but cell set the machine to go to a couple years before BAM problem solved i thought this was obvious i mean it makes sense you can set the time you travel to on the console of the machine
I don't get two things though: 1) How did Trunks get the controller from the Unseen Timeline WITHOUT killing Dr. Gero in the process already? 2) Doesn't this mean there are 2 Timelines where Cell kills Trunks and travels back? Or did one of the Future Trunks Timelines didn't have a Cell in it?

Go Team Liquid!

Hey 4! What do you think of Anime Caulifla vs Manga Caulifla? I'm writing a video script.
To answer your question, I answered pretty much all of those questions in the video.
qaaman - Manga cualifa and anime cualifa are kinda simliar but differnt:
Manga cualifa has the pride of vegeta, naive confidence of goku while having the heart of robin hood.
In terms of the tourney, they were basically the same, except one had a special bondage with kale while the other really didn't, and one got power-ups after power-ups the other kinda only got one.
who do you prefer?

Your voice sounds a little different in this video Q, not complaining, just saying. Hope you start uploading more!

@@QaamansLand it's not the same
I've always been under the impression that Trunks could've simply gone to the past, tell Goku who he is and all about the androids, take him to his time, train with him until the time machine was ready again, then go to a few years earlier in the past and pick up Gohan (while he still had both arms).
YOU'rE BACK DADDY QUINN!
This theory was so good it gave me goosebumps
Aye! You’re back!
The OG is back!
I’m so glad you’re back. I can’t wait for more videos from you.
Hey Galaxy-Eyes Garchomp. What is your effect, Atk and Def?
Qaaman Hm I never thought I’d be asked that question. My effect is I can clear the field of all XYZ monsters when I come to the field, and I gain 500 ATK and DEF points for every overlay units they all had when they were destroyed. Attack points over 9,000. Defense points 3,000.
First of all, Trunks didn’t even know who Dr. Gero was. He didn’t encounter Android 20 (Dr. Gero) or Android 19 until after he traveled back in time to earn Goku about an upcoming Android 17 and 18 threat.
This video is a reach.
This isn't the SAME TRUNKS though...
Yes but his knowledged changed when he learned of Cell
*My man Q is back!*
Have you considered that Cell may have simply reset the destination, knowing he would need time to recover his energy after returning to a larval state?
Cell cant he is no scientist he is just a battle crazed monster

Glad to see you post a video! You've always brought a unique angle to the dbz community that a lot of people love to hear about :D

@@QaamansLand well to me u went back in time with a time machine to give toriyama the of dragon ball

If Goku wasn't killed by Cell do you think he would have conceived Gonine, Goeight and Goseven?
I wonder if Cell altered the date/course of the time machine to get there before Trunks with the intent to prevent him from warning them about the androids but didn’t take into account having to revert to larva and grow again?
This is great. I'm glad Qaaman is back.
You guys voted for it LOL
@@QaamansLand vote or no vote it's still good to see you back.
Cell could only fit in the time machine by going back to his larvae form and needed time to regrow so he dialed the machine back a few years to give him that time so he would be fully grown again around the time the androids got activated, wasn't this explained in the manga and anime? Since that's been the explanation as far back as I can remember.
Amazing theory! That unseen Timeline is a movie waiting to be made ! Nice to see you back on the grind man .
Q back yesssss
Great video Qaaman! Glad to see a new video of yours!
This video is nostalgic, takes me back to when you first started making theory videos.
Seeing you back on top of seeing the end of the Abridged Cell Saga is so wonderful today.
I'm confused. What exactly do you mean? Use examples if you can.
I don't get two things though:
1) How did Trunks get the controller from the Unseen Timeline WITHOUT killing Dr. Gero in the process already?
2) Doesn't this mean there are 2 Timelines where Cell kills Trunks and travels back? Or did one of the Future Trunks Timelines didn't have a Cell in it?
