If you use Unreal 5, Blender, Substance painter, Zbrush, max, or Maya just to name a few, and are on the go like me this laptop will blow your mind. The The RTX 4090 and Ryzen 9 7945HX is a dream to use for an 3D artist. If you only play games I don't think you really need this unless you love the design as much as I do :)
Great review. The downsides mentioned are prefrences. Laptops have never been ideal for using on your lap for any real productive usage. That name should be obsoleted. The games are always evolving and no game pc or laptop is perfect because technology advances as soon as they are released. But all in all its a great piece of equipment. Im convinced i want one for 3d design.

From what I see the 7945 will only be available with the standard 2560x1600 the standard dull technology from the 129__ version. The DUO has non yet been introduced. The 13980 has two versions one with 16" Mini LED with 4080 12 and the 18" non Mini LED with 4090. I remember earlier with the 12900 series the DUO was there but the 3080TI would only go to 150W. No battery life test? I'm really interested how does it perform (autonomy time) under light load (browser, text editor, etc) when the dgpu is not used.

Ok, someone has to say it. This is best looking laptop with most futuristic design and most innovative idea with second screen and I love it, but second screen is in most case scenario useless. (second screen could be great for music editing for plugins)

I love the Asus Duo family, because the positioning of the keyboard and trackpad force me to maintain proper sitting posture. Currently have a UX581IL and I will be buying all my future laptops from the Duo family as well. Great detailed review 👍
@@Showz333 legions laptops still have the most juice. Duo shows 175w but only pulls 165w while legions laptops will cross that threshold not to mention they come with oc'ed ram by default 4800 to 5600 mhz for others vs 6000mhz for legion pro getting even better performance
No USB 4 kills it entirely for me. I would lose use of my Seagate Firecuda Thunderbolt 3 dock, which has a 4TB drive, 5 port USB A Gen 2 hub, and 4TB Nvme I have installed. I would have been really tempted otherwise.

Both Intel/Ryzen processors will be excellent. The Ryzen was a bit faster in those workloads, mostly. I'd get whichever CPU came paired with the better features and price tag.

My temps on Warzone never exceed 78C for CPU and 67C for GPU. Stock it used to boil beyond 95C (sometimes hitting 100C wtf!). If you don't disassembly the Duo you'll kill your $$$$ machine and suffer... Forever.
the problem im having with my Asus rog duo is that the keyboard light keeps turning off and i have to keep going to the ARMOURY Aura settings to switch it back on, and yes i pressed FN+F11 but nothing. Any idea what's causing this problem?

Anyway in my device that number is around 1130mV and constantly changing but it almost never exceed 1400mV neigher during Cinebench benchmark. Result in "turbo mode" was 33700 (while in "manual mode" with all max it was around 32700, no idea why). The temperature reached 98C during the benchmark
Yes, I would pick a high wattage RTX 4060 over a RTX 3070, especially with that processor which isn't nearly as fast as the 13800H--better CPU bound game performance by a lot.
asus website says no USB4/TB4. Both are 3.2 gen 2, one with DP passthrough. What an absolute disappointment. ASUS is missing an audience here. The dual screen setup seems perfect for audio engineers and recording artists who use DAW software. But many of the better audio interfaces are TB. Come on ASUS, get it together!

my laptop is zephyrus duo 16 2023 the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX The normal temperature is around 78 and 85. This temperature just normal work browsing, listening songs movies when I game it reaches sometimes 99 and touches 100 also. The post I did six months ago, I didn’t have the laptop. I just had a thought to buy it I don’t know about you temperature here in India. Reach temperature will become like 27 or 30 sometimes but that does not justify at all because my previous laptop was like 50-60 for normal work. Yeah that to reaches 100 but it’s rare literally that laptop is powered by intel i7 7th generation so what do you think my laptop is facing? Is this hardware or the software itself that overheats my processor even I keep the fans at turbo it reaches hundred sometimes and just comes down after a bit when I have a air-conditioned on in my room, the temperature reaches 95-98 even with minimal background process. @sudarshanrock9551 I've traveled the world with this laptop (working and gaming with it), from the Bahamas to Indonesia to Italy, where I lived in these countries and the story's the same no matter what the temps are. You've got to fix ASUS' poor job: re-apply the liquid metal. As I've previously said I have applied the liquid metal to both CPU and GPU so that they are cool and nice next to one each other :)

I had her watch a couple of tutorial videos, even though she had no prior experience with computers; she's a beautician, so she has steady and accurate hands. I was the one who actually disassembled the laptop. (my first time ever lmao)
