She talks a lot about John Dee in the context of cultural history and the development of modern science. I found it absolutely fascinating and could not put it down. A must read for all those academically interested in the tooics Angela discusses in her symposia.

The best sources promote Enoch from the line of Seth as being and obtaining such faithfulness that he was allowed and taught much of the secrets or knowledge of the heavens. And was eventually translated to a Angelic under the name of Metatron. Some caution is advised as much is intepreted by perspectives that do not agree and much can cause issue based on the specific path of knowledge you approach from. But, the oldest Data does point to this in some form, dispite the differences of opinion.
I never bought this superior language bit, but there is superior methods, different degrees of good and truth, and the ways of different groups of different spiritual beings; incarnate or not. Some of those way are not the same as those for our place, time, or species. Enochian remains about as influential as it gets and does better than just about any person and most cultures with a spiritual theory of anything.

John Dee (and his Enochian system) actually has nothing to do with the books of Enoch. In fact, Dee called his system "Adamic," as in the language spoken by Adam in the Garden of Eden, or sometimes "celestial" or "angelical." It would later be called Enochian because Enoch was supposedly the last human in Genesis who could still speak it, but as far as I'm aware Dee never referred to the system as Enochian. That title was added later by the Golden Dawn, who revised Dee's system and blended it with other occult movements, because Dee isn't the only one to have supposedly reinvented the angelical language. If you read the 3 books of occult philosophy by Agrippa, you will see that he highlights three other distinct "angelical" alphabets similar to Dee's. Calling Dee's Enochian was a way of distinguishing it from all of the other "celestial" scripts.

Here is my fundamental question about magick. If I no longer believe in free will - and I don't - then how can magick effect any outcomes? The result of any ritual is predetermined. Is it then "magick"? From our ego perspective, we think we "act". But there is no such thing as free agency. So, then, what is magick really? Is it just a yoga to dissolve the ego? But, even then, the dissolution is predetermined. This is something to consider.
I think the answer is simply "synchronicity" a concept created by Jung. It's a bit difficult to understand it but in magic, basically, can be translated as: it's destiny you make a magic ritual, it's destiny the result manifest as predicted. Personally my belive is that most of the magic you do works like a psicological tool, like placebo and nocebo. There is however something that's difficult to explain, some coincidence that makes you think "is this some spiritual/metaphisical/mystic manifestation of something from beyond? And if it's not, is randomness that plays with my mind? And if randomness plays with my mind, is it conscious? And if it's conscious, is not it spiritual/metaphisical/mystic?" The loop of a dog biting it's tail. A little more about how I think magic works. There is a nice little story about the eye of Horus in egyptian matematics. In the battle with Set he loses is eye, and the eye brake in parts. And one parts was 1/2 of the eye, another 1/4, the others being 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 of the eye. Then Thot put it back with his magic. Now if you sum al of this parts, the result is 63/64, and the last 1/64? That's the magic operated by Thot. That's what I think, 63/64 is pthe psychological effect of magic, 1/64 is mysterious and strange to explain. Sotty about this long comment, but the question was interesting and I wanted to give my full personal opinion about that. Edit: A little extra consideration about free will and our existence. I'm convinced like you that free will does not exist but randomness is another matter. Know that nowadays science is convinced that there is no such thing like determinism, that's because of quantum mechanics. We know that a particle have not a defined position but dwells in a space of probability. Just to say, things are way stranger than what we can concieve.
Im not sure what the point is of drawing a correlation between Enochian Magic and the "Book of Enoch". The system was cobbled together from older grimoires and their own scrying work. The two had nothing to do with each other.

The fact that "spiritual" or otherwise known as the Watchers came to Earth, slept with human women and then taught them things that they were more than likely told not to share; that in and of itself could raise so many questions by the general public in the church, but then to read that the children of the Watchers and woman-kind had babies that grew to be giants(I would use that terms 'giants' loosely considering they would have been half human. They either had one hell of a growth spurt or a super recessive gene and truly grew to be 'gigantic'.

Hi Ari! They were using magical techniques in use at the time, such as scrying and ceremonial evocation
John Dee (and his Enochian system) actually has nothing to do with the books of Enoch. In fact, Dee called his system "Adamic," as in the language spoken by Adam in the Garden of Eden, or sometimes "celestial" or "angelical."
It would later be called Enochian because Enoch was supposedly the last human in Genesis who could still speak it, but as far as I'm aware Dee never referred to the system as Enochian. That title was added later by the Golden Dawn, who revised Dee's system and blended it with other occult movements, because Dee isn't the only one to have supposedly reinvented the angelical language. If you read the 3 books of occult philosophy by Agrippa, you will see that he highlights three other distinct "angelical" alphabets similar to Dee's. Calling Dee's Enochian was a way of distinguishing it from all of the other "celestial" scripts.

Here is my fundamental question about magick. If I no longer believe in free will - and I don't - then how can magick effect any outcomes? The result of any ritual is predetermined. Is it then "magick"? From our ego perspective, we think we "act". But there is no such thing as free agency. So, then, what is magick really? Is it just a yoga to dissolve the ego? But, even then, the dissolution is predetermined. This is something to consider.

I think the answer is simply "synchronicity" a concept created by Jung. It's a bit difficult to understand it but in magic, basically, can be translated as: it's destiny you make a magic ritual, it's destiny the result manifest as predicted. Personally my belive is that most of the magic you do works like a psicological tool, like placebo and nocebo. There is however something that's difficult to explain, some coincidence that makes you think "is this some spiritual/metaphisical/mystic manifestation of something from beyond? And if it's not, is randomness that plays with my mind? And if randomness plays with my mind, is it conscious? And if it's conscious, is not it spiritual/metaphisical/mystic?" The loop of a dog biting it's tail. A little more about how I think magic works. There is a nice little story about the eye of Horus in egyptian matematics. In the battle with Set he loses is eye, and the eye brake in parts. And one parts was 1/2 of the eye, another 1/4, the others being 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 of the eye. Then Thot put it back with his magic. Now if you sum al of this parts, the result is 63/64, and the last 1/64? That's the magic operated by Thot. That's what I think, 63/64 is pthe psychological effect of magic, 1/64 is mysterious and strange to explain. Sotty about this long comment, but the question was interesting and I wanted to give my full personal opinion about that.
Edit: A little extra consideration about free will and our existence. I'm convinced like you that free will does not exist but randomness is another matter. Know that nowadays science is convinced that there is no such thing like determinism, that's because of quantum mechanics. We know that a particle have not a defined position but dwells in a space of probability. Just to say, things are way stranger than what we can concieve.

Im not sure what the point is of drawing a correlation between Enochian Magic and the "Book of Enoch". The system was cobbled together from older grimoires and their own scrying work. The two had nothing to do with each other.

Is there any evidence that the Greek term egregore comes directly from this 2nd century translation of the Book of Enoch, and the term watchers within? Chaldean magick also seems to refer to watchers, I've always assumed the Greek term egregore comes from an earlier source, likely from Chaldea or Babylon.

Been watching and reading different videos and texts about the Books of Enoch. I find it interesting that the Christian denomintaions don't recognize the Books of Enoch. I'd be interested knowing why.

@@drangelapuca When I think about it though, I guess I can kind of understand why the books aren't recognized as canon. The fact that "spiritual" or otherwise known as the Watchers came to Earth, slept with human women and then taught them things that they were more than likely told not to share; that in and of itself could raise so many questions by the general public in the church, but then to read that the children of the Watchers and woman-kind had babies that grew to be giants(I would use that terms 'giants' loosely considering they would have been half human. They either had one hell of a growth spurt or a super recessive gene and truly grew to be 'gigantic'.
