Me having flashback fighting Furious Rajang in MH4U even when having a Dire Miralis armor with 870 Def. It could still kill me in 3 hits... Okay just the make sure...Dire Miralis is not in MH4U but you can get the armor by trading some Gogmazios material to a merchant.
Me and my older cousin played MH together, when he fought rajang I was like "ohh cool lighting monkey", and he said "you'll see", I never forget the day I was traumatized by this electric ape

@Some guy Guy x2 Level 140 Rajang Guild Quest taught me how to hunt when I had already thought I learned (+2K hours by then). Most hunted monster by end of 4U.
I remembering fighting a Frenzy Rajang for the first time on MH4U. My soul left my body when I saw him jam his hand in the ground and pull out a giant rock the size of a Rathalos!
I got picked up and thrown into my friend we both hit a loading screen to the area before and we both were on the ground oneshotted. The quickest way to be sent to lobby
The first time I fought Rajang was in MWH: Iceborne. He definitely hit hard, but I didn't see why he was so horrific. Then I did the special quest with two Rajang in the arena. Didn't even last fifteen minutes. Then I learned about Furious Rajang. I quit the game.
I remeber when i was about 10 years old, after seeing so many beast with razors strong tails i was feeling grateful it was just a monkey with horns little did i know what would happen. Then MHW came out and a friend felt the same thing i did with that Monkeu, i ran to the side lines and let him experience first hand what that 10 year old me did.

I love that monkey so much. One of my favourite monsters, and this video perfectly encapsulates how I feel. I was so eager to see him beat the asses of all the new players
that is how barioth is for me. rajang took 40 my first try...was still hell though. against barioth I just kept having to chase it,didn't cart once, rajang got me twice and I had run out of all recovery...I screamed alot during those last 8 minutes of panic dodging.
To be fair, every MR monster in solo is bloated, they are at least 2x more tanky than in the G-rank games just to force you into playing online because of how people was complaining about how monster are too weak in solo in base World.
I too once angered the Monkey. Went to the other side of the map, thought I was safe since my target was there and I had left monkey far behind.............thing literally followed me from all the way across the map to one shot body slam me! I got revenge later though, Light bowguns in Rise seem to be Rajangs Kryptonite.
The day this came out... “Oh? A lightning monkey? This’ll be fun.” Then it punched my gunlance shield. And I realized. I fucked up. This thing. Was out. For. BLOOD. ... I dont want to fight that thing again...
The best way to fight this guy is to wall ram him any chance you get, and wail on him while he's down, but be ready to get out of his way when he gets up, because he's gonna be pissed lol.
He's not too bad with gunlance. I used the raging brachy set against him to pretty good effect. You can still block his attacks at least and you have to stick with hopping around and spamming the overhead smash combo on him. If it's too annoying with even that, use a hammer.
@@andrealynn7985 I actually run a divine blessing secret/vaal super recovery set with both guard up skills. Throw on some weakness exploits, some health boost, and most importantly the recovery speed up skills, then I just become an unkillable nightmare on top of my defense augment 3 raging brachy gunlance. Sure I take longer than most to kill monsters, but carting is a worry of the past. And yes, the build is very viable. Tough enough to let me handle the silver and gold raths without even needing to throw on poison immunity... But I do anyways cause I have the slots for it...
when i first saw rajang reveal, i was like "oh cool they added him back hes fun", but then they buffed electric ape, and i was like "i literally can't win because electro monkey keeps punching me in the faaaaaaceeee when i do ANYTHING"

If you are having problems fighting Rajang, here's a tip: take quest that you know will have both Rajang and Savage Devijo. Attack Rajang, and when it enrages, lead it to Devijo. They will get into a turf war, which will take Rajang out of it's enraged state and do damage to both monsters. Afterwards, Devijo should have it's eyes stet on you, so it will follow you with murderous intent. However, there is a fun little quirk regarding Savage Devijo; it will attack other monsters before the hunter. ABUSE THIS. Follow Rajang. Whenever you meet up with it, the two monsters should fight. Take this time to get some hits in and, when either Rajang retreats, pursuit it. This strategy will allow you to chip away at the beast while keeping their aggro focused on each other. As a bonus, they will occasionally do damage to each other, making your job easier. It is also a good idea to bring traps to capture the Devijo if you want to get so sweet, sweet material for armor and weapons'. As for strategys when our beloved Devibro is not in the quest..... I got nothing.

I was all excited to take advantage of what at the time was his unique Slimeblight element and use it on monsters as well but then they had to go and give other monsters slimeblight moves, although obviously its now referred to as bombblight. Or maybe I'm getting that mixed up with the bleeding status, I dunno, didn't like how they gave that to other monsters because I feel like it took away from Serigios [proably didn't spell that correctly] and made him less unique Edit: Oh wait we are talking about world, I haven't played world so I'm not sure what Branchydios might have been like in that game, I've fought him in mh3u, mh4u and mhg/mhgu

World was my first MH, but I'd heard my friends talk about the series before every now and then, and had done my own research on Monsters from previous games. When I saw Rajang had been announced for Iceborne, I was excited. When I saw it fuck up a Kirin, I was ecstatic. And when I carted back to camp 15 seconds later, the only word going through my head was... MORE
It's a lot easier to fight the Rajang now in World by far. The controls back then were janky and your mobility was absolute limited. There were a lot more aspects to juggle within the game where in MHW cut out like 70%+ of the material and detail to environments and gear/items you needed to worry about. So be lucky you got to the play absolute easiest MH game in history by far first. Lol

I got all the way to Alatreon using Guardian gear lol but I just couldn't make the damage check with the base sword, annoyingly. Had to grind out Velkhana a few times to get her sword
@@isaacm7934 well by the time he got released i already had 800-900hrs on the game, and i had 600+ hunts with gs. I also mostly played safe and watched his moveset before fighting, try to see if there is an opening after an attack. Pretty hard to tell at first glance but after 10minutes i got a little bit hang of it.
As a newbie in MH series, my first encountered to Rajang was in HR5 MH:Rise. I found him sleeping and decided to messed him up. Ohh boy I immediately regret my decision while he's kicking my ass. I'm on HR6 going HR7 now but still avoiding him whenever he is in the map.
Honestly Rajang in the older games was easier. He had a lot of end lag, was slower with easy to read moves, and was a walking hitzone. In MHW they sped him up, ruined his hitzones (on back legs), and made ranged attacks on him significantly weaker. The only thing jank about old games Rajang was the side hop run because it looked so janky and not fluid.
@R P He just bought anchor arms. How else does he lift up the earth? But yea fightning old game Rajang is only a pain if you play Gunner or get caught out healing (aka all of old world). Other than that, super easy. New World, eh fuck balance which is why I don't understand when older players say that MHW is easier? I started on MHW and then played GU (and debating on playing 4U) and I blew through GU so fast. In the older games, very few monsters had broken hitzones/attacks while in MHW a lot of the balance went out the window due to Clutch Claw making all the monsters way more aggro than their older game counter parts, no loading zones so they can't save you, slower healing time despite the ability to move around, better tracking, more janky hitboxes than older game monsters, they don't tire out as easily, tremor and stun are broken because they didnt add the mash buttons option so there is no way to shorten the time unless u run a resistance skill, the game wants you to tenderize so badly so they nerfed weakness exploit and hitzones to make the user half to tenderize despite the monsters never really giving you ample time and tenderize zones harden way to quickly still even after the buff. The only thing that makes MHW somewhat easier is the skill system (despite world's monsters have more health than older games), mantles, and wall banging even though Hunter Arts were wayyyy more potent than these methods because they were up way more consistently and way more spammable.

@@AnimeALX My conclusion is that MHW is the easiest Monster Hunter game with the strongest monsters, if you brought an Old World Rajang in, it'd be laughably easy but if you brought a New World Rajang to the old games, he'd be near impossible to kill, it's the same for many monsters (Yes New World Fatalis, I am referring to you specifically!) but in Monster Hunter Rise for instance, they will likely use the MHW style of monster simply due to the level of mobility that we have now, more mobile hunters generally means more mobile monsters are required
@@deinonychus1948 Eh I hope Rise will have a healthy mix of Old/New World AI because the A.I in world is more jank than Older mon hunt games. At least there was only 1 or 2 stupid monsters in older games. Now all of them are stupid because their aggression levels are too damn high because they have to counter the clutch claw mechanic which makes monster start running across the field and will never give consistent openings due to less endlag.
Good Lord, this monkey doesn't play around! I must have been REALLY lucky last night when I fought and captured Raj with a random group. First time hunting him, too. Now, it's ALL downhill from here.
I was so excited as I always was to see new monsters added bc I was a new hunter while my friend gave some warning. I remember my first hunt with my friend (veteran). Moments before his cart I heard "Not again".
One of my biggest mistakes in my Monster Hunter career was severely underestimating that bastard. I no longer fear that Super Saiyan monstrosity, but I give it the respect it earned/forcibly took.
I was very happy when they added the Tigrex and I get to fight in the snow just like my fist experience many years ago. " It was a mixed of fear and excitement." The Rajang however... He punches... Hard!
When you've face fire breathing dragon, giant ass chameleon, flaming lion/lioness and a flying scrap heap that would send YOU flying, facing an oversize ape seems underwhelming. *Until it go Super Saiyan with a beta version of Haki.*
I'm glad I got MHGU on switch first before MHW. When he got announced, my brother who has only played World said "Oh cool monke" and I got to be a veteran player for once and say "Dear God... I hope they don't nerf him"
This is basically my reaction when I learned that Rajang Is in iceborne, the fact that I, as a relative newcomer, now had the opportunity to face one of the most well known and feared monsters in the series felt like an honor. If only I could get past Velkhana.
Funny story in MHR my friend needed some help and me being HR200 I was pretty bored and he convinced me to get back on. So I helped him. To his surprise he liked the game so we didn't sleep that night, during which we were on a free hunt (the one hunt where you can constantly fight monsters until you go back to the village). But instead....I hosted it....that was a mistake but he told me, nah man I wanna see the new monsters. I booted up the hunt that had three monsters that were already spawned, it was Magnamalo, Rathalos, and Rajang (I didn't see him for some reason and just fired up a random one without looking what monsters were in the local to begin with). So when we spawn he says, what's the question marks. I look and I say, "ok so we can go to the far right and Magnamalo but don't go to the far left just trust me you ain't ready." That one was Rajang. I wanted to keep it a surprise but apparently he just didn't listen and as I fast travelled to Magnamalo I didn't see his icon on the map clearly heading to Rajang, so it was just silence followed with me saying, "hey I got Magna agro'd on me your good to come here." Followed by him saying, "Yo big monkey here what's up dickhead." Then later followed by, "oh shit he's awake...." not even three seconds go by and discord crashes and his icon lights up up as I hear screaming from the other room. I tell him to haul ass to me and for a solid minute he's somehow not dying with snippets of him saying, "fucking fucking fucking fucking FUCK!" as he gets hit by the Saiyan Monkey mouth blast. I say if he's almost here and he tells me to turn around and I cannot stress enough on how funny and how accurate this whole scene looked like when Jack Sparrow was running away from the island. I pan my camera around as I see Rajang full on sprinting towards my friend as he wirebugs behind me, Magnamalo fucking leaves so there goes a free mount, Rajang agro's onto me from just seeing me, he just straight up moth blast's me, and I have to spend a full minute just fighting off the Saiyan Monkey by myself with my friend occasionally getting in a few hits when I knock Rajang down. What's even better is that now the Rathalos wanted to say hi but he came at the wrong fucking time, and now there in a goddamn turf war with Rathalos getting his shit kicked in. Rathalos leaves after being told to literally and figuratively eat dirt by Rajang and he has still not left the current spot, a few seconds and I drive him off. My friend and I head back to camp and we take a lap as I tell him he's a fucking idiot, as it now says, Magnamalo has left the local and Bazelguese (sorry if I got that spelling wrong) has entered the local. So for my friend I think it just says "??? has entered the local" but he does say, "who just got here" I say that we are fighting Rathalos and leaving this hunt. To end it here I'll say that 2 days later he gets to the mission where you have to hunt a Rajang so I help him out as he tried to do it himself but failed 3 times so he called on my help. But can I just say, I will never forget this ever.
Yea i feel this like my friends were all very VERY new to monster hunter and they didn't know any of the past monsters (hell) so when rajang and deviljho were added I literally sat back and let them suffer

Just fought him for the first time this morning........took me 49 mins and 43 seconds to complete......that's all I'm gonna say.

Me when Brachydios got added. As for thunder monkey... seeing him was enough. I knew not to fuck with him.
In order to fight more effed up(rigged alatreon & fatalis) monsters you need to go through that b. ass monke. Not one, but 2 monke T_T.

I was all excited to take advantage of what at the time was his unique Slimeblight element and use it on monsters as well but then they had to go and give other monsters slimeblight moves, although obviously its now referred to as bombblight. Or maybe I'm getting that mixed up with the bleeding status, I dunno, didn't like how they gave that to other monsters because I feel like it took away from Serigios [proably didn't spell that correctly] and made him less unique
Edit: Oh wait we are talking about world, I haven't played world so I'm not sure what Branchydios might have been like in that game, I've fought him in mh3u, mh4u and mhg/mhgu

World was my first MH, but I'd heard my friends talk about the series before every now and then, and had done my own research on Monsters from previous games.
When I saw Rajang had been announced for Iceborne, I was excited.
When I saw it fuck up a Kirin, I was ecstatic.

It's a lot easier to fight the Rajang now in World by far. The controls back then were janky and your mobility was absolute limited. There were a lot more aspects to juggle within the game where in MHW cut out like 70%+ of the material and detail to environments and gear/items you needed to worry about. So be lucky you got to the play absolute easiest MH game in history by far first. Lol

I got all the way to Alatreon using Guardian gear lol but I just couldn't make the damage check with the base sword, annoyingly. Had to grind out Velkhana a few times to get her sword

@@isaacm7934 well by the time he got released i already had 800-900hrs on the game, and i had 600+ hunts with gs.
I also mostly played safe and watched his moveset before fighting, try to see if there is an opening after an attack. Pretty hard to tell at first glance but after 10minutes i got a little bit hang of it.

As a newbie in MH series, my first encountered to Rajang was in HR5 MH:Rise. I found him sleeping and decided to messed him up. Ohh boy I immediately regret my decision while he's kicking my ass. I'm on HR6 going HR7 now but still avoiding him whenever he is in the map.
Honestly Rajang in the older games was easier. He had a lot of end lag, was slower with easy to read moves, and was a walking hitzone. In MHW they sped him up, ruined his hitzones (on back legs), and made ranged attacks on him significantly weaker. The only thing jank about old games Rajang was the side hop run because it looked so janky and not fluid.
@R P He just bought anchor arms. How else does he lift up the earth? But yea fightning old game Rajang is only a pain if you play Gunner or get caught out healing (aka all of old world). Other than that, super easy. New World, eh fuck balance which is why I don't understand when older players say that MHW is easier? I started on MHW and then played GU (and debating on playing 4U) and I blew through GU so fast. In the older games, very few monsters had broken hitzones/attacks while in MHW a lot of the balance went out the window due to Clutch Claw making all the monsters way more aggro than their older game counter parts, no loading zones so they can't save you, slower healing time despite the ability to move around, better tracking, more janky hitboxes than older game monsters, they don't tire out as easily, tremor and stun are broken because they didnt add the mash buttons option so there is no way to shorten the time unless u run a resistance skill, the game wants you to tenderize so badly so they nerfed weakness exploit and hitzones to make the user half to tenderize despite the monsters never really giving you ample time and tenderize zones harden way to quickly still even after the buff. The only thing that makes MHW somewhat easier is the skill system (despite world's monsters have more health than older games), mantles, and wall banging even though Hunter Arts were wayyyy more potent than these methods because they were up way more consistently and way more spammable.

@@AnimeALX My conclusion is that MHW is the easiest Monster Hunter game with the strongest monsters, if you brought an Old World Rajang in, it'd be laughably easy but if you brought a New World Rajang to the old games, he'd be near impossible to kill, it's the same for many monsters (Yes New World Fatalis, I am referring to you specifically!) but in Monster Hunter Rise for instance, they will likely use the MHW style of monster simply due to the level of mobility that we have now, more mobile hunters generally means more mobile monsters are required
@@deinonychus1948 Eh I hope Rise will have a healthy mix of Old/New World AI because the A.I in world is more jank than Older mon hunt games. At least there was only 1 or 2 stupid monsters in older games. Now all of them are stupid because their aggression levels are too damn high because they have to counter the clutch claw mechanic which makes monster start running across the field and will never give consistent openings due to less endlag.

I was one of the new hunters who had their cherry popped fighting this guy for the first time. It was not a pleasant experience.
One of my biggest mistakes in my Monster Hunter career was severely underestimating that bastard. I no longer fear that Super Saiyan monstrosity, but I give it the respect it earned/forcibly took.

I'm glad I got MHGU on switch first before MHW. When he got announced, my brother who has only played World said "Oh cool monke" and I got to be a veteran player for once and say "Dear God... I hope they don't nerf him"
I first fought Rajang with all of the best armor and gear a hunter could get.
I was naked after ONE PUNCH!!!
Being a veteran player, i had the biggest smile on my face and the full armor set for fury raj about 5 hours after release

This is basically my reaction when I learned that Rajang Is in iceborne, the fact that I, as a relative newcomer, now had the opportunity to face one of the most well known and feared monsters in the series felt like an honor. If only I could get past Velkhana.
LITERALLY YESTERDAY: PUG was fighting A Nargacuga and a Rajang ran in and combo'd me into the ground. Immediate wipe.

I was like"Yay, I can finally fight Rajang now!". One brutal beating later, "yay i can fight Rajang now (sarcastic voice)".
Funny story in MHR my friend needed some help and me being HR200 I was pretty bored and he convinced me to get back on. So I helped him. To his surprise he liked the game so we didn't sleep that night, during which we were on a free hunt (the one hunt where you can constantly fight monsters until you go back to the village). But instead....I hosted it....that was a mistake but he told me, nah man I wanna see the new monsters. I booted up the hunt that had three monsters that were already spawned, it was Magnamalo, Rathalos, and Rajang (I didn't see him for some reason and just fired up a random one without looking what monsters were in the local to begin with). So when we spawn he says, what's the question marks. I look and I say, "ok so we can go to the far right and Magnamalo but don't go to the far left just trust me you ain't ready." That one was Rajang. I wanted to keep it a surprise but apparently he just didn't listen and as I fast travelled to Magnamalo I didn't see his icon on the map clearly heading to Rajang, so it was just silence followed with me saying, "hey I got Magna agro'd on me your good to come here." Followed by him saying, "Yo big monkey here what's up dickhead." Then later followed by, "oh shit he's awake...." not even three seconds go by and discord crashes and his icon lights up up as I hear screaming from the other room. I tell him to haul ass to me and for a solid minute he's somehow not dying with snippets of him saying, "fucking fucking fucking fucking FUCK!" as he gets hit by the Saiyan Monkey mouth blast. I say if he's almost here and he tells me to turn around and I cannot stress enough on how funny and how accurate this whole scene looked like when Jack Sparrow was running away from the island. I pan my camera around as I see Rajang full on sprinting towards my friend as he wirebugs behind me, Magnamalo fucking leaves so there goes a free mount, Rajang agro's onto me from just seeing me, he just straight up moth blast's me, and I have to spend a full minute just fighting off the Saiyan Monkey by myself with my friend occasionally getting in a few hits when I knock Rajang down. What's even better is that now the Rathalos wanted to say hi but he came at the wrong fucking time, and now there in a goddamn turf war with Rathalos getting his shit kicked in. Rathalos leaves after being told to literally and figuratively eat dirt by Rajang and he has still not left the current spot, a few seconds and I drive him off. My friend and I head back to camp and we take a lap as I tell him he's a fucking idiot, as it now says, Magnamalo has left the local and Bazelguese (sorry if I got that spelling wrong) has entered the local. So for my friend I think it just says "??? has entered the local" but he does say, "who just got here" I say that we are fighting Rathalos and leaving this hunt. To end it here I'll say that 2 days later he gets to the mission where you have to hunt a Rajang so I help him out as he tried to do it himself but failed 3 times so he called on my help. But can I just say, I will never forget this ever.
As a somewhat new hunter I can agree this is how I reacted when the super saiyan ape came to the new world.
Yea i feel this like my friends were all very VERY new to monster hunter and they didn't know any of the past monsters (hell) so when rajang and deviljho were added I literally sat back and let them suffer
